Hint:
RealPiano standalone is very fast (very short latency).
If you play along to your iPod then the latency will be increased a little bit - because the iPod consumes some of the iPhone/iPod touch energie - but you still can play in sync with your iPod.
Make sure NOT to use the iPod EQ (system settings), because this will need a lot more power from the CPU - and lead to higher latency. Switch off the Phone, WLan and Bluetooth to get even faster response.
For iPod touch users:
iPod touch (first generation) has no inbuilt speaker, use your headphones. In order to hear the RealPiano sounds activate your system sounds via 'General-Sound Effects' set it to 'both' and turn up the volume 'Settings - Music - Volume Limit'.

Sounds terrific in version 2! About version 1:
The sound of this piano is appealing and the polyphonic capabilities work well. Also, the multiple keyboard sizes and key repeat feature are well implemented.
Unfortunately, the samples are too short for my taste and some may miss that the keys aren't animated and can't be swiped. I'd also like to see an extra octave (or two) on the high end and a sustain pedal. Until these changes are made, the free minipiano is hard to beat.
Version 2:
A big improvement! Now long samples plus a nice upper octave. Thank you very much! I have only one small wish now, might we have the option to toggle between the nice resonant long samples and a staccato set? That would make this app five stars to me.

First review is spot on! I was hoping for so much more. Own most of the piano apps. Finger Piano is still my favorite. I bought this and felt robbed! I have bought lots of apps and this is my first 1 star review. Might have given it 2 stars had it cost .99. Would have said nothing if it came in free and they improved it with updates.
