TECHNICAL NOTE
Audio Memos works on all iPhone and iPod Touch. As the iPod Touch has not internal microphone, an external one is required.
Note that no recorder on the iPhone has the capacity to adjust the input gain, which means that eventual clipping and distortion created by the iPhone's microphone can appear in the recordings. If you really care about quality, use an external microphone instead of the built in one.

False advertising - no FTP upload Contrary to what is claimed in the description, this program will NOT "upload to any FTP server".
To get recordings off of it, you have to connect the iPhone to the same WiFi network as a computer - which you then use to "upload to any FTP server". Well, of course - once a file is on a computer, anything can be done with it!
But the whole point is having a recording app that can upload files without using a computer - vital for people working in the field, or traveling without a laptop.
I feel ripped off, a victim of bait-and-switch.

Distorted Recordings I have 2g - 16 gig iPhone.
I adjusted the level boost (excited about this feature-which is why I spent $3.00 even tho I have 5 different audio recorders) to many different levels - and the recording still was distorted! This is only after I reboot after install and before recording.... So I am not pleased. The website was bare bones. I would avoid this app for now.... Good idea, tho! Keep trying, I'll modify my review after things get better. I have not tried sync yet- not motivated...nothing worth sync.

You Have Got To Be kidding. As many write from time to time – I too have tried over a dozen of the other recorders and you may take to any bank not presently being robbed – this one here is by far – the best of the best. OMG is this recorder a thousand steps above the rest. First of all – yes you pay for no ads in the $4.99 version - but it is well worth it. The largest complaint for all of the other recorders is – you can barely hear what you record. Most - you have to struggle to hear it. This one is so loud – that you often have to turn down the volume if you talked too close to the phone. I mean – this thing cranks! Strong suggestion to app designers. Build into this GREAT app - a VOX capability that HONESTLY cuts in - at the instant anything is heard. Do that and you get 25 stars. Another really great feature is – you can activate the recorder – and push the top sleep button - which basically shuts the phone off from using any or much power – and it still records. Excellent for any covert recording you may have to do. What other recorder will do that? It also has an amplifier that works so well – I placed my phone over 40 feet away and talked normal – and it picked up every word I said. Granted there was a decent amount of static with my voice - but that is only because it amplifies every sound it hears. That is NOT a fault of the recorder. It’s doing its job. Any other reviews that don’t give this recorder a five – have had too much weed or alcohol - because I am nearly impossible to please - but this recorder is absolutely incredible. They don’t make ANY other recorder – of any type – that is anywhere near as good as this thing is. Seriously. I first got the free version and loved it so much I had to get this one. Anyone who at all uses a recorder – you are partially brain-dead - and somewhat ignorant - if you don’t get this recorder if you ever need one. I saw where one such fellow gave a poor review on the free version. As I always say – “Consider the Source.” Lunchmeat! If it ever comes out distorted – that is because a) you turned the gain up too high – for b) the closeness of the phone to your mouth. If it is distorted – it is YOUR fault for not knowing how to set the settings – not the recorders. Okay you designers of this app – I expect a dozen Maine lobsters mailed to me – accompanied with several bushels of steamers. Ahh – well – I can dream – can’t I?
