FMTouch enables you to run FileMaker locally on your iPhone or iPod touch. No internet, no browser needed.
FileMaker runs independently on your iPhone. Your database goes wherever you go and guess what your data is completely encrypted and protected. Currently FMTouch does not support Bento.
Like FileMaker, you can view, edit, find, delete and create records. You can use portals, value lists, graphics, container fields, send emails, generate PDF reports, capture signatures on the fly and more.
We love the FileMaker community and we work hard to make quick updates and provide bug fixes.
Each release is tested by over 90 members of our beta test team to insure you are receiving an exceptional product.

Poor user interface.   I love the idea that I can have my very simple filemaker databases on my iPhone. I can't wait until this gets better.
One major drawback is that it takes some getting used to as it is not very simple to setup. It's not difficult to setup, but it is not as easy as plug-choose-play setups. Every layout change I make involves a multi step process to reinstate it on my iPhone.
The scrolling and entry properties work poorly. It will only scroll if a layout section is touched. Touch a field and try to slide your fingers to scroll and you will be stopped by the keyboard popping up. The developers recommend that iPhone layouts have empty space built to facilitate scroling. Why can't it just be done like other programs where scrolling acts under every sliding motion (like in Safari)?
Sometimes after the keyboard hides after data entry it leaves white areas or misformatted text.
The ease of use makes it a pain to use. I want to love it. It syncs my simple information well. As for now I await a more user friendly interface.

Good as usual   It is a very good application. Although they should work a little bit more to solve some problems and add some improvements. Good job, anyway.

Great product and support!   I wrote the FM Touch team asking them about possibly developing starter templates for filemaker newbies like myself. The response I received was the fastest of any app store developer that has returned my emails. It was less than an hour until I received a response, on holiday weekend too. Quite cool! They informed me that they will be working on developing the database templates like the ones I asked for. I highly recommend this product. WIth customer service like this, I am excited to see what developments happen next.

A good first try for FileMaker on the iPhone   The app works very well, but has its limitations. It does not work with checkboxes, or with scripts. The developer has said that those elements are coming, and when they do, this will be a five star app. By the way, I've used the software too. Just read the FAQ on the developer's webpage to see what this app will do and not do. If you are running simple relational databases (with no scripting), then this is a killer app. The developer has released an automated DDR creator on their website which is nice. The initial process to get the database on your iPhone and synced the first time is a little geeky, but works well. After it is synced the first time, using the app is a breeze. I'm looking forward to many more apps in this space to increase the competition and spur more development.

It's cheap!   Get a life whiners! This is so much a game-changer. Funny, this list appears to be divided into those who get it and those who don't. Too bad ignorance is lowering the score of an otherwise awesome app. If you have a clue about FileMaker you'll see the value of FMTouch right away.Farewell Access; we hardly knew ye... - FMTouch review by jfletch
Not a toy   1) This is a serious application - not a toy that makes sounds and flashes lights when you shake the accelerometer.2) I bought it 15 minutes ago and it was $69.99 - NOT $99.So far it is GREAT! Much better than FM Mobile ever was. If you are complaining about the price, then you obviously don't need this app. And for those whining about making it compatible with FM 4 or 5? Get rid of your pirated copy you haven't been able to upgrade and get the newest version. And if you don't have the Advanced, the vendor has said they will do the initial needed conversion for you for FREE. - FMTouch review by w44 gewt4 4y
Fantastic !!!!   Finally, the FileMaker interface that I've been waiting for! The potential for this little application is huge! Ever since the iPhone's release I've tried to hack together an interface for FileMaker. Hack no more. Solidly coded this app will only get better with age. FMWebschool took what FileMaker Mobile was supposed to be and knocked it out of the park. Easy to use and well explained, even a FileMaker newbie will be able to find a use for this. - FMTouch review by Mark Hammer - Technical Editor for FileMaker Pro 9 Bible Wiley Press
Price Drop!?   What?! So soon? I paid $30 more a couple of days ago. 'Guess I deserve it for being an early adopter. :-/
This app is the best. It's not for everyone. It's intended for professionals that make a living with FileMaker or that manage their mission critical operations with FileMaker. I've been using FMTouch for a day now, and it's already paid for itself. It's well worht the $99.99. 'Nuff said.----Ever since my iPod Touch replaced my Palm PDA I've been waiting for a FileMaker Mobile replacement. This is much better, and syncs via WiFi. Would be great if it supported calculation fields, check boxes, and radio buttons (check and radio I haven't tested yet). Pretty good for a 1.0 release, can't wait for updates. Good job! :-) - FMTouch review by Jortiz
No Hype!   With version 1.21, FMTouch has become a very powerful reference database and data collection tool. It is well behaved, fully relational supporting both internal and external tables, and imposes few constraints on layout design. I have now converted all of my old Treo JFile and FileMaker Remote databases, both of which I kept in sync with FileMaker Pro on my desktop, to FMTouch. And since it uses it's own sync plugin, I can easily sync to multiple PC or Mac computers without restriction. My databases now look slick, open fast, and search fast. One of my databases holds over 18,000 records and a multi-field search takes the blink of an eye. The vendor is very responsive to support issues. Yesterday, within one hour of a user reporting a bug in the sync plugin, a fix was distributed. The vendor has posted the roadmap for the next few releases on their website. With the next release -- supporting images, calculations, and scripting -- FMTouch will be untouchable. I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but this app has me jazzed. (I am not on this vendor's payroll or one of its beta tester, my only association is the entry fee, which is less than I paid for Filemake Remote, and worth every penny.) - FMTouch review by winklestork
Absolutely 'killer app' - and **gasp** - I've actually purchased and used it!   First let's stop these whining "it's too expensive" reviews. It does a great disservice to programmers like these, and products like this. I personally think Apple should limit reviews to those WHO ACTUALLY BOUGHT the applications, or at least indicate a purchaser who has a legitimate complaint VS someone with diarrhea of the mouth.Although not perfect - for ways I will note later - this is a great way to get FileMaker (and by inference ANY database data) onto the iPhone, and manipulate it. Coming from the FileMaker Mobile (Palm) user approach, I wanted to try and divorce myself from my ancient Sony Clie UX50. Part of the reason I still use it is several custom safety, ergonomic and environmental auditing databases, and most importantly - my beer rating data. This data is very dear to me in that I used to keep it as text files on a Newton, then in a Notion database on Newton 2, then for a while on various Palms with FileMaker Mobile. This is almost 700 beers rated over a 15-year period. It did not take me long to have a fully-functioning database on my iPhone, that synchs with the desktop. The FMTouch program is amazing, in that the XML file you create (you can even create it via their website) becomes the screen layout. Almost every field type and function is supported, and the nice folks at FMWebschool have some great plans. They are also very helpful - I had a basic layout question and had an e-mail response very quickly. My only two caveats for users are: 1) this is not for the casual FileMaker user, you have to know some of the ins and outs; and 2) due to limitations of screens and fonts you may have to play with several layout attempts to get the one that looks the best on the iPhone. I had a big problem with text wrap but we solved it.All in all a great program, well worth the price; truly worth the appellation of a “killer app”! - FMTouch review by ExNewt
Wonderful app, stellar support   I was amazed at how easy it was to get this up and running. I had a little problem because of my firewall, and an email to Technical Support (at midnight!) brought a response within the hour. Amazing. As to the app, it works beautifully. Yes, it's more money than we're used to paying for iPhone apps, but it's worth every penny to have my FM Pro databases with me and usable. I'm more than pleased. - FMTouch review by callor
All it needs is global search and it's a five-star app   I am a physician and have nine years of Filemaker Pro databases detailing basic patient information. I use the data so that I always have that information when someone calls me after hours. I have been syncing to my various Palm devices, the latest being a Treo 700p. I used Filemaker Pro 5.5 and synced to JFile Pro vis FMSync. A Filemaker mobile replace was the only thing keeping me from a full iPhone conversion.I discovered this program yesterday and immediately upgraded Filemaker Pro to version 9 (advanced), then purchased this for my new iPhone. Expensive, yes, but as others have posted in reviews, this is not a toy program. It does exactly what it says it does. After converting my FM DBs to version 9 format, I made a DDR as instructed and uploaded to my iPhone as instructed. The whole process is quite simple. The only two things that need improvement are a) the manual--should be on the device instead of the video accessible from the site. I'm sure that's coming, though. The bigger item is search. I create a separate database monthly and I'd like to be able to search all of them simultaneously rather than just the one I'm using. On the Palm, this was simple as Palm OS has a global search. iPhone doesn't, so if this functionality were added to the program, that'd be great.Thank you FMWebschool for making a great product! I'm sure there's more to come with this program. - FMTouch review by anonfrank
Excellent Replacement for FMPro Mobile on the Palm   With the advent of the iPhone I was looking forward to moving away from the Palm platform. Until I decided to take the plunge with FMTouch I wasn't certain what the future was for my DBs. Finally I had enough of carrying around my T5 and iPhone. I haven't regretted the decision one bit.
FMTouch is everything it advertises. For those, like myself, who aren't quite sure about laying down $70 for a test drive, my experience was great.
I spoke with customer support about an issue that will be resolved in the next release. They were VERY responsive and cordial.
The product is worth every penny and I expect a lot went into it's development; particularly since Apple hasn't provided and conduit for applications like this. - FMTouch review by iPhontastic
Finally!   Leaps and bounds above previous FM mobile/sync apps in its visual presentation, ease of data manipulation, and layout navigation. How people can write a "review" about this and give it a low star rating without owning the application is beyond me.It's made to communicate with the more recent versions of Filemaker Pro, not be a stand-alone database creating machine. If that were true, we'd be paying $300+ for something that runs and looks like FM Pro.Be sure to download the free Sample & Style Guide from their website as you'll need to create new layouts on your existing databases in order to generate easily legible and accessible layouts for the iPhone. Cut and paste the sample into a new layout, change the characteristics of each field as necessary, and you're off. How easy could that be?I own Filemaker Pro Advanced but their website will create the necessary DDR file in a few minutes so you DON'T HAVE TO OWN an FM Advanced product. This product keeps all my data easily accessible and transferable, does exactly what it says it will do, is worth every penny, and there's apparently much more from upcoming updates. - FMTouch review by jlbills
I cannot describe how much I love this software!   Thank you for an excellent app! After using FileMaker mobile for 4 years, moving on to FMTouch is like trading in a bicyle for a Ferrari. The new signature capture and photo to container field works just as promised. You guys also have done a tremendous job of not only supporting FMTouch but I am amazed at the speed you guys are releasing updates. I would also like to thank Stephen Knight, of FMWebschool. I had a question about connecting 7 related databases, and he helped me get the files running, he even offered to create the DDR for me. I cannot say enough how impressed I am with this company. Also two other things that helped me when I was just getting started - the Style Guide and the Users Guide.Looking forward to your next update! - FMTouch review by FMDev1981
Great App!   Because the price was high it cause me to do serious research of the product on available web sites searched out by Google. I watched the movies on the FMWebschool's web site and read the manaual, and I read every review. I recommend anyone considering this app do the same. After all that, I immediately purchased the software and haven't regretted it. FMTouch does what they say it will do and I have no doubt it will get better. FMWebschool appears to be a group of people that produce, accept enhancement requests, and continuously improves. This software provides the iPhone what I had to boot up my laptop to get before. WELL DONE! BTW, you do not need Filemaker Advanced to use FMTouch, and don't forget to open the proper port on your firewall - MAC and PC alike. - FMTouch review by W_illiam
Great Product. Getting better all the time!   Been waiting for this for a long time. We do DSL, and have had to resort to syncing with the phonebook (using the notes field) for customer info - long tedious process. Now - I just update (sync) the DB on the phone, and I have everything that I need when the customer calls and I am in the field. Use a number of programs/plugins from FMWebschool, and they are always responsive to help requests/bug reports. I would have gladly paid the original price for this, but at $70 it is a no brainer. After a few hitches when I started - got it up and running in minimal time, and use it every day. Great app, simple to use, and well worth the money! - FMTouch review by Al at EvCo
WOW very nice!!   FMWebschool does good here. It's very simple, easy to install and get working (watch their user video, it's worth the time) very quickly. Even with all the experimenting, false starts, and testing this was quick and actually fun to experiment on. I'm looking forward to working a lot more on this this weekend. - FMTouch review by Joe Patterson
Ingenious   Golden....I can't really describe it in any other way.I'm one who's intrigued when it comes to database apps so I rolled the dice on this one. Hell, I never used FileMaker until I bought this app. I had some crude but working databases up and running in under an hour. Its that easy. I would highly recommend this to both novice and professionals. It was worth every dime. Thanks Gentleman...this one is a keeper. :-) - FMTouch review by Hoffmanator
Fantastic product and top-notch support   This is one serious app. I've used Filemaker Mobile on my Palm for several years on a daily basis. Switching to FMTouch was like putting my Palm on steroids and overclocking it about 1000%. I created a simple layout in about 1/2 hour, and had it loaded on the iTouch shortly after that. The process of generating a ddr file was new to me, but the forum at fmwebschool.com gave me all the information I needed to understand what was happening. This application makes the iTouch a serious productivity tool - not simply a juiced-up contact manager and media player. I save a huge amount of time having a true relational database in my hand. The 1.3 update kicked it up a few more notches as it now has the capability of handling tabs, and a bunch of other improvements that I haven't even started to use. - FMTouch review by DennisPT
