You can't enter recipes from cookbooks, etc and upload them to your iPhone   I wanted to enter recipes from cookbooks or The Food Network, etc, have the ingredient list on my iPhone when shopping and be able to look at the recipe on my iPhone when cooking. However, you can't enter recipes and upload them to your iPhone UNLESS you post them for EVERYBODY. There is no "private" folder that you can upload to your iPhone, so you cannot legally enter recipes from cookbooks etc and upload them to your iPhone. For example, you can't enter "The Palm's Caesar Salad".recipe.It's just easier to use (better) recipe software (definitely NOT BigOven), enter better recipes from the best cookbooks, and print out the ingredient list and recipe from your computer...

FINALLY!   I have this installed on my pc, and it is probably one of the better recipe programs on the market today. Add your own recipes, flag favorites, search by names or ingredients, and many others. It seems a little slow, but I'm sure with updates, will get faster. It was the only reason I didn't give it a full 5 stars.

Has Potential, But Much Improvement Needed   I love the concept of having access to a magnitude of user-rated recipes on my iPhone, but the quality of the recipes I randomly searched for (about 10 different searches) appeared to be inconsistent and a bit amateurish (could have been bad luck, but statistically speaking, I somehow doubt it).
I like that some of the recipes have a star rating, which would help sift the good from the muck, but currently the application does not show the number of ratings, so if a recipe got five out of five stars, it could simply mean that the author of the recipe was the only rater.
I think that if the developer were to make the following modifications, the application would warrant a significantly higher rating:
•Show the number of people who have rated each recipe.
•Allow users to rate recipes directly from the app.
•Pull recipes from a larger database and/or from more sources.
•To make this app truly over the top, I suggest adding short video clips demonstrating cooking techniques.

Ok   Recipes are from questionable sources. I'll probably use this in the grocery store to figure out what to do with, eg those chanterelle mushrooms on sale. But I'll be cooking from my cookbooks that were checked for accuracy and reproducibility. And hope that epicurious (with reliable recipes from Gourmet and Bon Appetit etc) creates an application.

SLOW loading time.   This application is wonderful! There are a lot of different recipes to choose from. I find it especially convenient because I don't have to write down a list of ingredients and then remember to take it grocery shopping with me. All I need is my phone. The recipes do load VERY slowly however. I would recommend opting for a different application but this one is free. I hope this problem will be fixed in a future update.

Revised rating...   I gave this app a 1 star rating before due to very slow download of recipes, now that it's fixed I changed my rating to 4 stars ( not 5 coz I believe there is no such as a perfect app as of now)
This app is for cook lovers which personally I am... I like it and if want to impress somebody that u can cook this might be useful... :)
