Very Unhappy This application is horrible, I could upload to social networks, the recording. Playbacks SKIP and sometimes just fully cut out. If u try using the best quality the iPhone shuts off after 1:20 seconds of play CONSISTANTLY

Improve! Okay first off, great app all around. Just a couple minor fixed and itll def be the best recording app out there. The most important thing it needs is an input level indicator on the side thats always showing you how loud it is and if the sound levels are peaking, I've been trying to find a good recorder app for my band but only one has had the sound levels and this one has the sharing and quality options I want. Also, maybe look at Retronyms "Recorder" app, they have a sweet way of deleting recordings by holding your finger on it and moving a little to the side, then a delete button pops up, very convenient. Anyways once this improves, definitely worth the money.

Really Great App I have been in search of a decent recording app for awhile. I've gone through a whole bunch of them from free to paid and have been unable to find anything that was decently stable and functional for my iPod Touch (2nd Gen). I actually really debated on buying this simply because the other functions (internet VoiceMail etc) were of no use to me. I just decided to take the plunge and buy it on sale and I was completely surprised and impressed. I am very glad they implemented a way to change your sound quality which I don't remember reading about at first. That was a plus, but the best thing was, the other evening, I sat down with the app for around 3 hours straight. That whole time I was recording with it, different clips, one after another. In that entire not, there was not a glitch! Not a hiccup, not a sound issue not even a crash which audio apps with iPod Touch are notorious for. In my experience this is the first audio app that has completely worked. Every other app I tried had at least one problem, large or small. And every one of them would randomly crash during recording. Most of them had a bug where the sound would get all distorted after a few times recording. This one worked flawlessly. It's just crazy because even with the other functions, the recorder is flawless. The other apps I've tried, most of them were purely for recording. I don't know, I am just completely amazed at how funtional this was.There's just one thing I'd love to see implemented into this app is a "delete" option on the recording page. As it is now, you have to click on the information tab which brings you to a screen where you can choose delete out of a few other options. It would be fantastic to have a delete (or trash) option where you can just push it after recording something and it will delete whichever file is selected. Of course it would be a good idea ask one last time "are you sure you wish to delete this file?" or something of that sort, so it's not accidentally hit and lost for good.I'm not sure why people sent such low reviews...maybe before the updates there were problems. But, I can definitely vouch for this version now where audio is concerned. I wouldnt' know about the other stuff but if you're looking for a recorder and have been having troubles finding one that's stable, I would strongly recommend checking this one out.Cheers.

Take it from me Over the past 8 mos. I've purchased/tried six programs, and with this last upgrade, VR+ does it all!!! Finally! I interview suspects almost daily, and it's so nice to have a recorder with me all the time. Plus I can email my interview back to my office as an mp3, and it's there before I return! By far worth the $$$!!!

Voice Activity Detection is awesome!!! Best thing of all -- it records in mp3 format. It means that when sharing all of my recipients will be able to open and listen to my recordings.Another great feature is that I can continue recording previously recorded audio files.Sharing on facebook and sending audio by e-mail is smooth and easy.I tried Voice activity detection and it is awesome -- at last I am able to think when I am talking, because recording is pausing when I am silent and waiting when I start talking again. One thing though -- people around you should not be talking in order for this feature to work correctly.

Great idea, POOR audio This is an amazing idea and totally useful. The UI is a bit rocky. But the WORST thing is the HORRIBLE compression rate on the mp3. It makes this app UTTERLY USELESS for songwriters. Come on Shape, there are free apps with 1000 times better audio quality.

Good, but issues on privacy and iPhone specific info On the face of it this seems like quite a useful application, and good value especially at the new reduced 99c price. However there are some worrying issues. It's almost impossible to discover information relating to the iPhone version - all kinds of links and references from the developers bring the user to a version for the Blackberry with many different features (not to mention pricing!). Additionally, and IMHO more seriously, when I chose to 'Upload to VR+ Online' I later discovered that my personal recordings were 'Public' by default. It is possible to manually switch the recording back to 'Private' but one needs 1) to know that it's Public and 2) easy access to a browser to make the changes. The website info suggests that the user can make that decision at the record/upload stage, but I can't find any way to do that. Nor is there a way to set up a 'User Profile' in one's personal page so that the default is changed to 'Private'. So I really think the developers, who seem to have done quite a bit of work on this app, should make a greater effort to provide iPhone specific info for purchasers. I'd also like to know more info on the MP3 quality that's being recorded and ideally the option to select a higher quality than the default. Despite all of the above, it's still a very useful app and very easy to use. Finally, every single thing I wanted in one app I've been searching for voice recorders since October and finally found this one today that has everything I was looking for. The most important thing I wanted was a file recorded in mp3 format that could be emailed easily. This app has that. Plus, I wanted the email to appear "from" me, with a customized subject line, multiple recipients, and the space to write text as well. I got all of it. The reason I wanted MP3 is that my email client is gmail, which plays mp3s from within the body of an email message. Much easier for my recipient.Also, I got free online storage so I can choose to send the file in the body of the email or I can upload it and then send a link. The app loaded quickly using my home wifi connection... much faster than I expected compared to some others I've purchased over the same connection. Once I loaded it, I went ahead and used it right away, without rebooting my phone (I know that's a no-no). It worked great! The interface took me right to recording and it was easy to use. I clicked on the account button and got a message right away that I could sign up for free online storage space, so I did that. Took about 90 seconds. Then I was returned back to the recording interface and I clicked on the record icon. I recorded the movie that was playing across the room on my tv...I didn't speak at all, just let that audio play. I recorded about 10 seconds and then checked the file. It played back instantly and the audio was very low but audible. I went ahead and recorded myself next, about 20 seconds. Worked GREAT! Then I emailed it to my husband's gmail, which is listed on my iphone email accounts. I closed the app, opened email and the file was already there and the voice recording played back perfectly. My audio was a good volume, but there was a bit of distortion. I think I will need to experiment with the best mic distance from my mouth for improving that aspect of the sound quality. Solid app with limited features Reviewed on 12/28/2008, app version 1.0.This is a very limited and basic recording tool. The good news is that its extremely simple to use, there's zero options to configure. You've got a main screen with all the recording controls at the bottom and a list of all recordings currently on your device. One each file there's a few options to email the file, share on facebook, twitter, myspace or blogger, upload to VR+ Online, continue recording, delete or rename. All are quite simple to use and work as advertised. I particularly like the ability to completely customize the emails sent by the program unlike other competing programs.During recordings you'll get a very large recording timer that really makes it easy to glance down and see how long you've been recording. This function is completly ruined by the screen shutting off quickly. So, to see how long you've been recording you have to turn your device back on. This is pretty silly since you'll make quite a bit of noise in your recording when you turn it back on. Certainly, an option to prevent the device sleeping while recording would be ideal here.There's no onscreen display of recording or playback levels. Fortunately the software is decent about setting a proper recording level. My testing has been limited to the spoken voice at close range and it performs just fine for that. Recordings are automatically stored in MP3 format which is tremendously better than most other tools since they record in aiff which results in files significantly larger. A 10 minute test file from VR+ was just 1.14 megs which is quite easily emailed. At those rates a recording several hours long would still be small enough to email for most users. The recording is a 16kbps MP3 with decent encoding quality. You wouldn't want to use this for music but for most anything else its fine. The iPhone has a mono microphone so recordings are mono as well.Whats the verdict? For my uses its fine. I'd like the ability to prevent standby and also a recordplayback volume control. Its a very business like application that works with no problems.
