Was great, now only good.   Updated my phone to 2.2.1 and updated mocha vnc accordingly and now it does not respond to the "finger flick" acceleration when moving the screen while connected. Tech support said this is intentional cause by some screen handling issues that caused crashes. I've moved back to the previous version 1.1 and works fine again. (I did that by not syncing the iPhone after i purchased it. I just deleted the 2.0 version from the iPhone and resynced to iTunes and it uploaded the previous version.) 5 stars to the 1.1 version. Only 3 for the 2.0 version.

Mediocre App   I am a huge fan of Touchpad Pro and this app has nothing on that. It is slow, difficult to use, and doesn't include the Media Server/Front Row remote that Touchpad Pro has. Touchpad Pro needs to be ported to the App Store! Until it is, I will be hugely dissapointed with firmware 2.0. - Mocha VNC review by BizKwik
nice graphics, iffy interface, lack of encryption support   Mocha VNC handles graphics pretty nicely: zooming, scrolling, and display are smooth, and display quality is high.Unfortunately, it falls short in its user interface. Its mouse interaction is modal and often requires switching modes multiple times for something as simple as clicking a button. Dragging seems to be impossible. There is little documentation on how it's supposed to work. Standard Macintosh and iPhone scrolling gestures are not recognized, and the application doesn't provide the iPhone "magnifying glass" to help with precise pointing.Another deficiency is the lack of support for SSH and other encrypted connections, making the application unsuitable for many IT tasks or accessing a desktop machine with important information on it.There aren't many VNC clients for the iPhone/iPod Touch, and this one isn't too expensive, so you may still want to go for it. But it needs work. - Mocha VNC review by Tom Cal
Bad news for those with larger screens...   If your host screen is larger than 1600x1200, then it effectively locks up the machine while it tries to re-size to fit, it crashes the program, and it even panics the iPhone and causes it to do a hard reboot.Bad juju, Bwana. - Mocha VNC review by BradKnowles
Glad to see full release, but...   I'm sure you're working hard on the paid release, and it's appreciated for a very nice app, overall. I gave 4 stars for the Lite version, but in all honesty, I have to drop a star due to some issues:Several crashes on start, lost edited connections."option" is missing, in "Mac OS-X" mode, "extra" function keyboard nice, but there's no "winkey" in MacOS-X. Otherwise, it's a great app, and is a great implementation of VNC for the iPhone.Keep up the good work - I'm looking forward to the update which, hopefully, will address these issues. - Mocha VNC review by PriRmentndo
Same as light with more features   I liked the light version and was real excited about this version. My only real complaint is that once you aarow over to the extended part of the keyboard (where the function keys are) there is no aarow to go back. Instead you have to close the keyboard and reopen. Not a deal buster but that is my only complaint. Other than that this is a must have app for almost anyone who uses a computer daily. - Mocha VNC review by Simmcclain
Absolutely great VNC client   I've been using this since it's been out and have only had a handful of problems. Using this with UltraVNC has been a dream. And since I can run this through my company's VPN I don't have to worry about snooping, etc. I've been able to run this through Wifi and 3G with virutally no problems. There have been some phone BSOD (Blank Screen Of Death) restarts just from starting the program, but those have been maybe 5% of the times I've used it. But once it's logged on it hasn't BSOD'd on me once. There's only a couple things that made me consider giving 4 stars instead of 5 stars: One is the small list (6!) of computers I can store when I have about 15 between work and home that I connect to at various times to check on renders, server jobs, troubleshoot, etc. Two, the res rectriction, but I only have 1 computer that is dual monitor. Other than that, I have had a great experience with this and the lite versions of this app. The interface could use some dolling up with respect to the secondary keyboards, but that's easy enough to fix in an update. To some people that complain about the gray background or that the desktop doesn't snap to the edge, from my experience, it's easier to select stuff on the edges if you can move the edge to the center of the screen and zoom in and also having the buttons on the bottom of screen would be difficult to select the taskbar icons unless you could move the desktop up a bit. In other words I think it's a great functionality to move my desktop beyond its bounds in order to click accurately.I have also purchased Teleport as well and I kind of wish I hadn't now. This Mocha app works when I need it and I didn't have uninstall the VNC software I'm already using. The only 2 things Teleport does better is storing more than 6 named servers and the ability to have higher res screen. All in all, this is a Great app at an Amazing price. - Mocha VNC review by chipnuts
A must-have app for anyone who maintains servers   I tried the lite version and it was almost perfect. The only thing missing was a delete (or ctl+alt+delete shortcut) for logging into windows machines which this version adds. Though it did take me a minute to find it. (Second keyboard then press >> for another screen.)I like the Alt+F4 shortcut as well. Very handy as clicking accurately can be hit and miss when trying to close a window. I have experienced a few crashes but usually when trying to connect or edit the connections. No crashes (so far) once connected to a machine. It is a bit sluggish even over wifi but concidering all it's doing I'm not surprised. A couple things I'd like to see:A "back" button on the second page of "special" keyboardMacros that accept special keysCrtl+Alt+Del shortcut at top of main controls (along with just Crtl and Alt)Have not tried it on a mac but others have mentioned no option or apple key (can't remember which) which we need.Multi screen support would be niceI know most of these are Win specific (which is ironic since I'm a mac guy) but one last one would be ability to customize those top buttons where Crtl and Alt currently reside.Even though there can be some improvements I give this app 5 stars as it means I can restart crashed servers from just about anywhere and since I'm on-call 24-7-365 this is a HUGE + for me. - Mocha VNC review by moej0j0j0
Connections....   Why are we ONLY limited to 6 connections max? I would expect that from the VNC Lite version but not the full version. Also a name field for the connections would be helpful instead of having to remember the connections by IP addresses. Otherwise I am very happy with the app. - Mocha VNC review by GEGERVISION
Incredibly fast and smooth   I was recently at a conference, and this app on my iPhone actually outperformed VNC on my MBP over WiFi. It was amazingly fast and smooth. Absolutely top-notch! - Mocha VNC review by fonixland
Works fine for me..   I see some complaints but I just bought it and connected several times fine. I love this app, it works great. It does seem slower than VNsea (I saw the demo on youtube as I'm not jailbreaking my touch). So I'm hoping Mocha is working on updates that might make the app as speedy as VNsea. I love that I can send alt commands. Very nice app and well worth the money as I'm sure they will have some updates soon. - Mocha VNC review by Kamakzie
Doesn't Connect if Computer Locked   I got the free version and it worked fine but I cant connect to the computer if it is locked. I Bought the full version hoping it would fix that but I still can't connect when it is locked, just get the error "Host has closed the session". - Mocha VNC review by PSchills
Works OK, but with issues   Works as advertised, but does crash occasionally. Also sometimes it is difficult to edit the host ip address inside the "bookmarks".Otherwise keep up the good work and thanks for the lite version too! - Mocha VNC review by McOtis
Works good for a v1 product, could use some adjustments.   CTRL ALT DEL seems harder then it should, ctrl & alt are made available at top very easily. I don't know why they didn't add the del key also. Using CTRL alt del requires 2 additonal key steps. Would be great also if you could label the connections with a name, currently it's based on the server connection field. Otherwise works good - Mocha VNC review by Dustin_G
A bit troublesome in getting it installed, but that may be Apple's fault, not MochaSoft   I don't know why the other two reviewers had issues. The first thing I did was to uninstall the Lite version (which btw, wipes out any settings you already had). I was repeatedly unable to install the application thru iTunes (purchased on the desktop thru the store as I could not find in in the store listing on the iphone itself). After several try's, I gave up and looked again on the iphone store (from the phone) and there it was! Selected install, (already paid, yes), and once it installed, immediately fired up the vpn, and connected directly to my CentOS 5 desktop and began using it. Love the addtional keyboards, the ability to create macro's for keystroke intensive, repeated work. The response was phenomenal, and worth the $6 bucks just for the additional keyboards (w/Function keys, WIN key, CTL/ALT, etc, etc)Now if they can get an SSH client out of the door they can get more of my money!I still appear to be having issues over the cellular network 2G/3G both, in that VNC never connects. I use VPN to connect, web browsing works just fine, but VNC never connects. If anyone has an idea of what to tweak, please let us know!Keep up the good work! - Mocha VNC review by rmontyq
Decent app but where's the encryption?   Did i miss something or should this app use encryption when coupled with vnc servers (ie RealVNC) to protect the flow of data? - Mocha VNC review by 3G is good in NY
Must have for System/Network Admins   This software has allowed me to fix several critical issues while away on vacation. Just the other day I fixed my VOIP server while sitting in a McDonalds. It's very smooth and accurate. One small random bug with the all in one ctrl+alt+del button, but still manageable. Totally worth $6. - Mocha VNC review by Slappy!
Great App and works as expected   I have been using this app since I bought it to test it and so far it has worked perfect. I connected to my PC via VPN and then launched VNC and the connection is super fast without any issues. I recommend this app for anyone who requires remote access. I tried this on a Win XP and on a Server 2003 machine both had real fast responses and the connections never dropped in over 30 mins of usage. The error with connection others have had must be errors at their machines because I have disconnected and reconnect many times to see if errors would generate and none yet. I really like the ctrl alt del support and the left mouse click support. Great app and congrats to the developer. - Mocha VNC review by Hchavarria
Great app for Admins, Not for average users, needs some work.   This app is great if you are an on call admin who may need to log in 24x7. Saves me from having to tote around a laptop and wireless card. Using 8-bit color it is plenty fast over the EDGE network to reboot a server or fix a few problems. Full version seems to have a few more bugs than the free version. A) Crashes about 30% of the time I load it. B) The caps key does not seem to work, so if I have an uppercase letter in a password I'm hosed. Even with the bugs it has still saved me a few trips into work already. If they can fix the bugs, It'll get a five star from me. - Mocha VNC review by AjzRide
Good but not great   A very complicated task was taken on by the developers. Good choices in trade offs on the mouse and navigating larger resolutions on the small screen of the ipod touch. I would like to see the edges more restrained; you can have a good bit of grey wasted space as your scrolling around. Would be best if it stopped at the edge of the visible screen. Not as fast as I thought it was going to be by what others have said. Even over my G-wireless to a 100M connected PC there was about the same lag as is experienced when using it over a 512kbps DSL connection. I probably can switch to 8-bit color and get it a bit smoother but it works well enough for simple tasks. Just don't expect a perfect experience. Its not even in the same realm of speed as far as a full-PC to PC vs this. - Mocha VNC review by Jack_ANSI
