Streets of Rage - SEGA
The city was once a happy, peaceful place...until one day, a powerful secret criminal organization took over. This vicious syndicate soon had control of the government and even the police force. The city has become a center of violence and crime where no one is safe. Amid this turmoil, a group of determined young police officers has sworn to clean up the city. Among them are Adam Hunter, Axel Stone and Blaze Fielding. They've decided to put their lives on the line and take back their city through their special hand-to-hand combat abilities. They are willing to risk anything, even their lives, on the Streets of Rage.

Brings back alot of memories The game is great, brings back alot of memories, I bought the updated version and I haven't had any problems, runs just like it on the genesis. Only reason I gave it 4 out of 5 is because no multiplayer and the button layout could of been a little better. Other than that the game is excellent and its just how it was when it came out in 91.

It should have 5 stars. Picky issues as follows: Nothing is more satisfying than shanking the red women with whips and hearing them scream in 8-bit. However, the music of the game and the sounds get annoying after a while. It is in my opinion that every game on this platform should allow for the ipod music to function during gameplay.. which this game does. What it doesnt have is the feature to toggle game sounds during music.. Since sounds are so infrequent it wouldn't be distracting. The game is also CRAZY slow. I choose one of the faster characters and they just poke along at such an annoying rate. 120-140% speed improvement in characters would be awesome. The arrows which allow you to advance take WAY too long to appear.. they should be like a 1 second delay.. they are more like 5 seconds. Furthermore, my game which was saved temporarily last night was gone this morning.. At these speeds I cannot see myself getting through this until the next time I fly anyway. Fix it!!If you can fix the sounds with ipod and the gameplay speed this would be worth every penny.

Good port I really loved this game on my Genesis back in the day and this plays fairly well, but it does suffer from slow down when things get very hairy. I wonder if it's any better on the 3GS? The Koshiro soundtrack bumps and is just as addicting as it was in 91. It also has one if the best vitual D-pad implementations I've tried so far. My only really gripe is that it feels like it's a buck or two too expensive. I know five bucks isn't alot of money, but you can pick up "Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection" for $30 and get 40+ games Granted, you can't play that on the train.

A Great Childhood Memory on my iPhone! Ah, man.. Before I review this app I just have to say that it brings a smile to my face to see Streets of Rage on my iPhone. I can still remember being a 5 year old playing this game with my bro and arguing with him about who gets to be the badass black guy haha. Thanks SEGA.As for my review of this Genesis to iPhone port.....I'm glad to say that it's a pretty good port to the iPhone. Not a great one; a good one. The virtual controller works well and the game runs pretty decent. But even after rebooting the iPhone (which I did right after downloading) the game still has a tendency to slow down--usually when there's quite a few baddies onscreen. It's not a deal-breaker, but it stinks to see it not run smooth throughout. The game is still just as fun as the original though, which is great!Overall the game is a good port and it's great fun to play. Those who've played the original won't be dissappointed; maybe annoyed by slowdown but that's about it. I'm giving it 4/5 stars for being a good port over to the iPhone and being just as fun as the original game. But, I'm giving it a bonus star to make it 5/5 because it brings back to many good memories of my childhood :)

Sonic and streets of rage rock I loved playing them on genesis and love them now more than all other games and beleive me I have em all it's ridiculous that these are better from like 92
Maybe it's my phone is better or something
But I have no problems with sega ports

Needs continue The update fixed the slowdown for the 3GS. It works good now but the continue button does not work when u exit the game and come back 2 it. It starts from the beginning like a real Genesis. Sonic at least saves the level. Please update again. Thanx

Great Port! The update has finally been released!
The major slowdowns have been fixed, though there are really minor slowdowns when a lot of enemies appear on screen, which is natural in older consoles.
But now I am completely satisfied with this port, now I can truly enjoy playing the game in its best performance.

Good game, but needs multiplayer! I always played this game when I was younger, but I always played this with a friend. Please add bluetooth and wifi multiplayer, and I will gladly make this game five stars. The gameplay is also a bit slower than the genesis version which dissapoints me. SEGA, please update soon!

A lot of fun Since the update for the 3GS the game has been smooth and relatively bug free. I realize there have been some mixed reviews but the bottom line is this is a GREAT port of a classic game. Whatever the flaws, it is just as enjoyable as when I was a kid. Highly recommended.

Fight Good game stays true to the orginal for the sega console. Buy game if ur a classic gamer or you 2 try something new. Sega do u own rights for Earthworm Jim? Can u put more sega titles out like Knights. Sega thanx the update made this game way better. 4/5 until multi player is active.

Amazing After I got the sonic game I gave it a try to see if this game was added. Unbelievable. It was. I was amazed. This game is a classic. I would highly recommend this game. I would love to see streets of rage 2 on here. That would be incredible. Anyways bottom line 5 stars. Simply amazing.
