Disco Pool - Midnight Status
Aim, Flick, Match!
Get down with Disco Pool, the fiendishly addictive billiard puzzle game now available for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Match the sticky billiard balls throughout various puzzles. Make your way past barriers, moving parts, portals, trap doors, and more!
This game uses an intuitive touch interface that lets you flick the billiard balls with the tip of your finger as if they were really there. Featuring Nvidia PhysX Disco Pool provides excellent physics in addition to trippy full screen motion blur effects and real time lighting. To top it all off Disco Pool features full stat tracking, online leaderboards, and allows you to add your own disco soundtrack.
Do the billiard boogie, do it now!

A Four Star Game...   ...for now. I rated it 5 because the other review of 1 star is obviously bogus and could be a shill review.
Anyway, Disco Pool is an action/puzzler delight. The only thing holding it back from being 5 stars across the board- more levels.
There are 25 levels in this slick game and if you are like me, you'll play non-stop until you've conquered them all. I'm on my second go around and still find most of the levels to be a pleasant test.
There is no other game like this on the App Store! Sure, Carambole is similar, but the only real similarity is in rolling billiards balls to accompolish puzzles [/end similarities]
Disco Pool is fully 3D. There is a "Matrix-like" effect of slowed time to allow for multiple actions to take place at once. I find the obstacles and interactive elements in the puzzles fun and unique. Some obstacles, such as rotating boards and moving boxes, can be actually used to your advantage. The way the developer has set up each level there usu. Is no "one way" to achieve your goal. There are a limited number of flicks you can take so strategy is a must.
Overall, this game rocks and it's deer enough that you can get into it for an extended time, yet it's also set up to pick-up and play whatever level at any time; docs office, car ride etc.. Very solid level designs and nice controls/interface make Disco Pool a value at the asking price=)

nice concept   It's a fun game that combines pool and puzzles. It has an option to re-rack the balls, which is nice, but lacks an option to skip levels you've already completed. The color scheme is appealing. The graphics are decent. Though the control over the balls could use a little tweeking. Overall, I'd recommend this game. If you enjoy pool and puzzles, pick it up.

Great original game   While the controls can use some fine tuning, this is actually a really fun match type game. You have to flck ball around a table and get three to match. It is easy at first, but eventually you get walls, warp zones, moving blockades, and you have to match 4 balls instead of just three making it more difficult. For people that don't get it, when there are four balls you need to connect them in pairs first. If three of them connect leaving one astray, then you lose. So you have to make them in pairs then connect the pairs for the match to count. The graphics are decent enough. This is a fun game of angles and bounces that is a great pick up and play type game. My only issues is that stopping the balls sometimes registers as a shot, and balls on the wall are hard to flick. Hopefully these issues will be address as I know the developer has an update in the works with more levels.

Awful controls- please fix!   Disco Pool has a really unique concept that I've never seen on any game before, and I think that it could be a lot of fun! The graphics are nice and when in motion the physics are fine, but this game has a major flaw. The terrible imprecise controls makes it almost impossible to play. When your finger is on a ball and while flicking it barely touches a different ball, that's the one that will move. In later levrls when there are lots of different colored balls close together, this makes the game incredibly frustrating. I haven't gotten too far in this game yet because it's just so difficult to play with these controls. I recommend waiting for an update before buying this one

Excellent puzzler, with realistic physics   This game has exceeded my expectations. It runs reasonably fast on my aging 1G touch, with 3.1 OS.The disco ball lighting looks interesting, but strategy is king for this one. There is a limited number of flicks to get all balls of the same color together. As the game progresses, the levels get harder with walls and obstacles.A great job by the developers!

A good game that could be great   Although the title implies that this is a pool game, the only thing in common with this and pool is the table and balls. However, this game is actually much more interesting. It is a cross between pool and golf with a good dose of puzzle-based fun. Each level presents you with several balls that need to be collected in a group. You have a par that you must beat and carefully shoot balls which stick together like a magnet if they come into contact. If you beat the par, you continue, otherwise, you're finished. This is a great concept, and the physics are actually done quite well. The game is challenging, and a lot of fun, except that I really found the control scheme difficult to use. Shooting the balls involves a finger swipe, but it is not implemented very well, and I found myself accidently shooting the wrong ball at times, or having the ball go at a different than intended angle. If this was fixed, this game would easily be a 4 or 5 star. As it stands now, it is still great fun if you can past an occasional frustrating botched shot.

Very much potential, but not yet ready   I like Disco Pool, but it's not a complete game yet. The graphics and feeling are great, but you don't have lives, so you can continue as long a you wish. That way everyone can get very high scores and the game is too simple. The controls and graphics are great, so because of that I still give it 4 stars, but it doesn't feel like a real game yet.

Original   Definately an original game and worthy of a purchase. Connecting same colored pool balls in a disco themed game is surprisingly fun, and the difficulty ramps up nicely with warp zones, switches and barricades to keep the challege ongoing. Well worth the .99...
