Battletaire is a fun and challenging game for all ages. Battletaire combines the game play of Sudoku, Shinro and Picross where your mission is to find the location of the 10 hidden ships using the numbers along the grid as guides. Each puzzle starts with a few revealed squares depending on the level you are playing. As you are promoted in rank (from Seaman to Fleet Admiral) the puzzles become more challenging.
Features: •This puzzle made its debut at the World Puzzle Championship in New York in 1992. •Two play modes to stimulate your mind: Drills and Battlemode. •Unlimited fun and game play as all puzzles are generated on your iPhone/iTouch •Use your Sudoku logic and intuition skills to beat the game. •Keep track of your high scores and number of victories. •Advance in rank as you progress in your mission. Warning If you're used to playing Battleship puzzles in GAMES magazine or some other source, be forewarned that the puzzles in this game do not always have a single unique solution, as is generally expected with these types of puzzles. Any valid solution will be counted as a success, so it could be worse, but having to use trial-and-error type guesswork instead of pure logic makes this a lot less fun than it otherwise could be.

Upgraded to 5 stars They put an unlimited amount of hints on the options. Thank You ! For some of us slow leaning seniors (over 55+) this is a great addition. At least when I get stumped at a higher lever I now don't have to quit the game and start over. Thank You !

Terrific Game!! I agree with other reviewers - I don't understand the 2 star rating; and, as others have said, it's an excellent mind-working, logic puzzle. I have some trouble distinguishing the sub pieces from the mid-ship pieces but I understand there is already a fix coming for that. Evidence that the makers continue to improve on a great game. Plus, there is a free lite version available; did the nay sayers not try the product before they purchased it?

This is a great, challenging game. I agree with all the 5-star reviews. And I would like to add that prior to this game, I played a lot of Shinro games. This game is very much like that. However, in Shinro you are only looking for one square at a time. With Battletaire, you are looking for a set of one, two, three or four squares at a time, each set being a ship. And I, too, have completed the Fleet Admiral level. I found the developer to be very receptive.
