Terrific game mechanics Just as ttursas' previous Perfect Balance app, the play mechanics are wonderful in this game. The game pieces have a realistic heft to them, and finding the right balance for all the pieces works really well with the touch controls. Inferno has the added bonus of including several new game elements, like spinning sawblades, weighted pieces and swivel bars, all making the gameplay more varied than the already excellant PB: Harmony. All this plus a ton of new levels, and only for a mere $.99.The only thing that holds this game back from being a perfect five-star review for me is the dreary backgrounds. Understandably, the game is called Inferno, but the backgrounds in Harmony were far more pleasing to the eye.

Man With A Mission
New style of PUZZLER, not like Topple or Bricks This is a new kind of progressive puzzle game, using balance and physical forces (weight, momentum, friction). Despite the iTunes description, it has nothing to do with Tetris, Bricks, Topple -- all of them are action games, not puzzle games.
The puzzles are progressively more difficult, with provision for skipping to the next if you are stumped.
>> Notice to developers: this feature is needed in many other games where the higher levels are "locked" until the prior is completed. Much unneeded frustration is caused, resulting in low star-ratings.
The puzzles are not timed, nothing is happening on screen until you place a piece into the play area. To try again, instantly reset with a single button.
If in doubt, download the free "lite" version of Perfect Balance. I found those puzzles too easy, so I skipped the full version of Perfect Balance -- and went directly to this more difficult edition. .

Simply amazing. I've been following the Perfect Balance series since the original game, and I can say without hesitation that it's one of the best puzzle series that I've ever played. And now I can also say that PB: Inferno is the best entry in the series to date.
If you've never played Perfect Balance before, go check out the original Flash title or PB: Harmony first. This game is intended for people who have mastered the other PB games.
This game improves on the previous title in many ways. First, there are more levels: a whopping 120 all-new creations. And they are all devilishly difficult. New shapes are also present, adding a bit of spice to the game. Not only that, but this game introduces weighted shapes that are much heavier than normal. This leads to some interesting solutions.
One of the coolest additions to the formula is the presence of moving parts in the static geometry. For example, early on you will come across spinning sawblades. These can send pieces spinning out of control unless you use them wisely.
Overall, this is an amazing package worth far more than 99 cents. Get it while it's cheap!
