Unique 3D Flying/Urban Defense Sim   SkylineBlade is 3D game that combines a helicopter simulation with urban defense, and it does a good job. The dev has obviously put a lot of time into the creating a 3D world where you can fly between buildings, shoot enemies, and capture enemy vehicles. While it takes practice, the controls used to maneuver the helicopter are very responsive. It’s funny because I’m not the quickest learner in terms of complex controls, but the controls in SkylineBlade took me about 10 minutes of flying and crashing to pick up. Frankly, I had fun just flying around the city. You learn the basics in Training mode, which consist of flying, shooting and capturing, and once completed, you go into Battle mode. The control scheme is pretty simple and illustrated in green on your screen. The Fire, Hook and View buttons are on your left, while Turn and Lift are on your right. View gives you the option of either the full helicopter view or a cockpit view. I find the helicopter view the best one to use so that I can see where buildings are from far away. With Lift, slowly slide your finger up and down and the helicopter will respond accordingly. With Turn, you slide your finger across to move left or right. Moving forward and backward is done by accelerometer, tilting your device accordingly. My suggestion is you slowly ease the controls meaning slide your finger and tilt slowly because you can easily overcompensate sending your helicopter too far in any direction. Shooting enemies such as tanks and cars during battle mode is challenging, and most of this is done through trial and error. While you have limited ammo and armor, you use your hook to pick up destroyed tanks which you can recycle to replenish your weapons. Represented by two small red dots, the radar can be difficult to see but will be made bigger in future updates. I think if you’re looking for something different and open to the possibilities of new environments/levels/more depth in the future (the dev has mentioned that he plans to expand the gameplay and storyline), give SkylineBlade a try…it might be a pleasant surprise.

Great job   Very nice game here. The first person view is also a nice touch. I for one think that the control scheme is great and makes this game fun and sets it apart from the rest. Everything doesn't have to be arcade style flying. I love that it takes a little learning and skill to fly this thing. It's fun once you get the hang of it. Nice work.

Controls   This game has so much potential. I love the style of it and game play, but the controls are the biggest problem. For those on the fence, it's not so much that they are "lousy" it's just that it's very "sim" type controls and not "arcade." If you've never had a problem with these tpyes of control schemes, then this is definetely a full five star game. If however you've always been better or prefered the arcade type, then you may want to hold off for a lite version to test it out first. For me, i cant get to first base controlling this and i've been trying since last night. I try to turn, and the copter moves very slowly. Attempted to calibrate, but the button does nothing when i press it. For me, it's five stars on the style of game, but sadly one star for controls. If the Devs put in an optional alternative control method, then i will update this review. But as it stands now, i'll give this an overall 2 stars.

Learning curve   This one took some getting used to. Wasn't sure what I was doing for a while. Once I figured it out and got the hang of it, it turned out it was a lot of fun. Can't wait to try the new control scheme. Hopefully it improves the overall experience drastically. Nice all around effort thus far.

Absolute garbage expensive garbage   Holy crap is this just terrible.
New update just as bad, now with big balls at the bottom.
The interface is so badly designed the biggest challenge is to figure out why the controls are placed with such idiocy.
I'm a fan of flying games. This may be the first one yet that I can barely figure out. I can't even tell what's happening in the game.
The turning controls are off on the top right middle of the screen, the altitude is up halfway up the right and is a slider, the tilt doesn't work half the time.
When the copter crashes nothing happens.
Really a confusing game and definitely not worth the money.
Maybe the developers are trying to be unique, but flying UI has common elements for a reason.
Really an impossible and extremely expensive game with no player feedback in the interface (crashing, speedometer, altimeter etc)
Needs much work to justify the cost.

Very bad controls!   It got good graphics and the game has potential but the controls needs an update real bad. The analog goes very out from the screen and the trackball doesn't make sense and makes the copter spin out of control. Needs some type of d-pad or something to make the controls way better to play the game. And also the crosshair for shooting ain't good. People would want to shoot instead of that automatic aim crosshair shooting but it's gonna be hard to aim with the bad controls. Fix this real quick and the game would be better and very good. I give this game a 2 out of 5 stars and would go higher if there is better controls and better crosshair shooting.

Awesome! Love it!   UPDATE: after the recent update I downloaded, I was able to finally finish my training!! I've been working hard for a long time!! And I was able to complete it much easier and faster after all the tweaking you did!! Wow!! I'd say those were the finishing touches this app needed. Controlling the helicopter is so much more smoother. And the controls I'd say have become intuitive, to a degree. I look forward to starting the missions! This drives like a real helicopter now. Amazing!! Thanks for the update!
TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO PURCHASED THIS APP: I bought this a year ago, and since then, this app has gone through a MAJOR TRANSFORMATION in a GOOD way!
Give this app another try....I SWEAR you WON'T be disappointed!!
I have cleared through all my training!!! This was previously impossible to manage, but NOW the copter flies like a dream!!
GIVE IT ANOTHER TRY, I don't know the dev, and would not say this if it wasn't true. If you paid for this app and deleted it, RE-DOWNLOAD and try it. Don't let your money go to waste. I promise it's a 1000 times easier to fly and because of that, it's very fun and addicting!!
Once you learn how to fly it, it's great fun. And it doesn't take long at all to learn. Very easy, and the instructions are given for everything.
This is a developer who listens to his customers.
Dev- thanks for all the hard work, time and effort that you have put into this app.,all the tweaking you have done. I can FLY!! It's awesome!! I love it!!
Thanks again!

The controls are spot on for me, and make for a fun sim   Simulating helicopter flight is difficult. Simulating it on a pocket device may be just daunting, but this developer makes it work. The controls just took a bit of practice, but they seem spot on for me. I don't feel like I'll be able to fly the real thing tomorrow, but that is not the point. I can actually feel like I am flying the sim, and it is fun. The camera settings for first and third person are accessible, and help when you start getting a little disoriented. The interface is clean, easy to understand, and responsive. Great Job!
