Surprising noone has mentioned bugs in the game play   As a Magic the Gathering player I was excited when I first downloaded Orions. After 4+ weeks of playing the game I am frustrated and disappointed. I have seen reviews mentioning that new cards are essential, but I am surprised that I have not seen anyone mention the bugs in the game play! Here are just a few that I have found: Sometimes when I drag a spell into the playing field I find, when I remove my finger, that it is not the spell I dragged out. If I have all 5 slots filled with creatures the game will not allow me to cast a spell however it will allow the cpu to do so. There is intermittently something wrong with the Steal Life and Life Sacrifice calculations. It’s too long to explain here but more than once I have been absolutely perplexed as to how it came up with the final numbers. Earthquake, states “Doesn’t affect owner’s creatures, if owners Earth A 12.” Just doesn’t work period. There are more but frankly I don’t like being a Beta tester for a product I have had to pay for.You could argue that some of the issues I have with the game are related to lack of understanding of the rules. My answer to that is yes that could be true in some (not all) of the cases, however since there are NO RULES PROVIDED it’s still a lousy explanation. This could be a 4 or 5 star game with some new cards in an update that includes Beta testing by the developers, or at least by people who are getting the game for free.

Great value   Recommended:- if you like Magic: The Gathering card game- if you like turn-based dueling card games- for those looking for some deep depth in a gameNot recommended:- if you hate Magic: The Gathering card game- if you are looking for some fast-paced action game- if you think this is some kind of Age Of Empires game or any other RTSPros:- Great presentation, graphics and sound-wise- Deep card game, campaign and duel modes, long-long playing time- Great replay value, trying to master each of the elements and starting over for a better deck- Based more on strategy than luck (you may choose which card you want to draw in every turn, so there's no "aw I wish THAT card were drawed right now..." rant- Achivements (trophies) to collectCons:- Freezes somewhat constantly- May take some time to learn all of the cards and how to play the game (if you aren't familiar with these kind of card games)- Does not feature Wi-Fi multiplayer (that I'm aware of)- Can't check cards details when you are buying them, nor the enemies' deckOverall (Pros - Cons + Average 2-1/2 stars): 3 1/2 (consider this a 4)Pricing: for 1.99c, this is a must-buy for card gamers!Other notes: You pick an element, choose your character's name, random cards are given following some rules. Then you duel against other "cities" so you can place new buildings allowing new cards to be bought and to generate resources (for buying cards/buildings purposes). There's no "permanent" card in your hands - once you draw them into battle, it will be gone no matter what (you start off with some kinds of card at a quantity of 80, some around 15 and another 2 or 1). Still great fun!

Unbelievable   It's like a mashup of Magic: The Gathering, Heroes of Might and Magic, and Sins of a Solar Empire. The price tag is pretty reasonable compared to the quality, depth, and replayability of the game.
After spending SEVERAL hours (read: about 8-10) playing this, I've run across a few things that probably need to be put into the next update:
- We need to be able to read the details of cards outside of battle. I hate it when I have an Orion completely built out and when I go to buy cards there, I can't remember exactly what some of them do and I can't find out because there's no way to read their descriptions. (FIXED IN FIRST UPDATE!)
- On the large campaign maps, all of the Orions look the same regardless of what the player has built on them. I find that I waste a LOT of time staring at loading screens as I'm switching between all of my Orions and trying to figure out where I can get certain cards. It would be cool if whatever you build also showed up on the map for easier pinpointing of which places I need to visit to buy cards. Even a simple number indicating how many elemental buildings are on an Orion would suffice.
- We need better indicators of how close an Orion is to it's maximum building capacity and, possibly, a way to destroy buildings to make room for more.
- I don't know if the developer intended it to be like this, but I'd love to be able to dump a stack of cards that I find useless. I hate Nymphs and yet I almost always end up with a stack of 80. Horrible waste of Power.
Even with these flaws, I still consider this a 5-star game. One of the deepest, most immersive, and most time-consuming (in a good way) games on the App Store right now.
THIS IS THE ONLY REVIEW YOU NEED TO READ. Back out of this section and go tap the BUY NOW button before they raise the price to something more suitable for this kind of quality!

Seriously Great, New Favorite!   I have been waiting for a game like this forever! And finally someone delivers. Many thanks to the developers and creators. The game plays like a 4X game (Sins of a Solar Empire, Strategic Commander[palm]), but has the core of a fantasy card game. It takes little getting used to. The tutorial does not go into 100% detail as to what's going on, but it gives u a pretty good idea. Enough to get u started, to the point where u can figure out the rest as you go with no major fallbacks. Also! You can save like 5 different games at a time! This game should be at the top in no time, and for $1.99?! This is an INSANE deal, get it NOW before they realize they can raise the price! I BET WE CAN EXPECT NEW CARDS IN FUTURE UPDATES!!! Best game on the iPhone. Period.
I have just a couple issues and they are:
1.) When you are buying/"forging" cards I wish you could double-tap them and find out their stats BEFORE you buy them... It may be intentionally left out but I think it would be a nice feature to have.
2.) The loading screen flickers a bit sometimes. This may sound picky but I'm sure it will bother some people (not me really).
Neither of those are anything near enough to cancel out the 5 star rating for enjoyment I have got from this game.
5+ STARS

Pretty boring if you ask me...   And I usually like card games. I just found that building things all over the place, switching from map to map since you can only build 3 things per area per turn, and keeping track of what you have and don't have in your deck was tedious and hard to do..
There was no "view current deck" option without going into the buggy shop menu and seeing what you have in the shop.. Btw I found it annoying that you couldn't see the amount of current crystal you have when you are buying cards.
I couldn't throw away old crappy cards and maxed out my deck, and I didn't see a sell option in the store, so I got stuck and that is when I decided to delete this game.
My suggestions:
1) Make the building management in one place (or get rid of it completely), I don't want to play sim city, it was boring and it took time away from playing the "card game" part.
2) In fact, make everything together, it's annoying to have to go to 10 different stores just because I built a certain building somewhere.
3) I personally felt that there wern't that many cards, but the art work was impressive so I guess it takes time to make them.
4) ... I guess that's it, I mean the load time was long and there were bugs, but that probably isn't as critical as unattractive game play.
GJ other than that.

Fun game but needs new cards!!!   Hours of fun, but the developer should reward their customers by adding new cards. ....Listen to the feedback.... More cards!!!!!!! Not worth their time creating new cards.

Where are the updates?   Game is fun on duel mode. Other mode is tedious. Some new cards and any kind of update would be nice. At this price it's been too long without an update. Worth a buck tops in it's current state.

Impressed and having fun   My initial impression is fantastic! This is one of the best first impressions a game has made on me. Polish, depth, fun. If you like MTG then this would be right up your alley. Can't wait to play more. Buy now before they realize they could be charging a lot more for this. Awesome. Got to go play more now.

Awesome Game   This game is like a strategy game mixed together with a card game. The card looks, how you have to build buildings to get materials to get more cards, and how you have to conquer each world makes the game totally fun. If you've played magic the gathering, this game is similar to it. Definitely a must buy as it has lots of replay value. The downside to it is that it is rather confusing when you first start the game as the tutorial should have some pictures to refer to.

Its Magic the Gathering, except different.   This replaced Field Runners as my most played app. I'm addicted to the duel mode. Always get a random deck, opponent always gets different cards than you. It was a challenge at first even on easy, I didn't know what the cards did, but then I learned them all, and now I haven't lost for a while. It really is an amazing game. I'm looking forward to more cards and stability updates, but this is DEFINITELY worth $2. Less than a booster pack of a regular card game. 75 cards + campain mode + duel mode, c'mon.

Highly overrated   Graphics seem decent, some interesting game play elements, but the overall game play lacks in a major way. You cannot really do a lot of strategy, as a lot of the elements points powers etc, are not revealed to you, there is no manual, basically you have to find out what is good and not and even then if you win with a card you don't really know why you won, or lost. If it was more like a real card based game it would be much more fun. I have played multiple hours and still have not entangled or deciphered this game, not due to its complexity, but more due to its undecipherable gameplay and bad interface.

Great Concept and OK execution.   This game has a great concept behind it and a good style, but suffurs from a number of errors. First, it does not have enough cards. There are maybe 6 cards per side and 5 sides, so 30 cards total. Way too small, even if I'm wrong and there is more. Two, in duels you should be able to pick your own deck. Third, the campaign is stupid. But the duels are really really fun. So, plz fix the errors with updates. 2 stars for concept, 2 stars for duels, and minus 1 star for bad campaign and lazy amount of cards.
Update: campaign is better as it progresses. More cards than previoulsy thought . 5 stars.

No replay value and should cost $.99   I would give this app a negative star if I could. This game hasn't been updated beyond 1.1 which is pathetic. I bought this game having seen all the great reviews but regretted it after I beat the first campaign game. It has no replay value AT ALL, If it were a lite version I wouldve deleted it and not purchased the full for the insanely overpriced 4.99 tag. Quite bluntly it is a game that needs a massive update to allow you to build an online multiplayer deck and and challenge others, my guess is this game was put together so quickly by a greedy team who wanted to rush the release so they could start overcharging people for a game that is worth no more than $.99. If you want a game you can play more than once before getting sick of it do not buy this game.

Bad buy   Reptitive with low replay value
Poor autosave
Crashes
Tons of building 3 "farms" per planet per turn, boring clickfest
Would be a good demo but needs more depth to be a full game. Lame.
Months later I tried again and still no interest. This is a half hour game.

Good fun!   Honestly I'm glad to see some good mobile games make their way onto the iPhone (for much less then on other devices, even!) as they provide a full game experience. I really enjoy card games and this one is pretty good and looks like it has an amazing amount of replay value. For $2 you really can't go wrong with this game!

Owesome!   I played this game once, on my last mobile platform. When I have seen news on one news site that there was this game, I simply have not believed to my eyes! The magnificent graphics, great music and sound, and a gameplay from which it is impossible to come off. I am very glad, that on iPhone comes more and more qualitative games from Russia and russian developers, that is pleasant doubly :) If you love RPG and gamblings - buy not deliberating, it costs each cent which you for it have paid. Waiting for russian language pack.

Almost perfect   This is, perhaps, the most addictive game I have on my iPhone right now. My only suggestions to fix/improve it are as follows (I see some of them are being addressed soon).1. The quit button on the main screen doesn't work (at least for me it doesn't.2. Ability to listen to our own music while playing.
