Movie Challenge: Oscars® Special reviewed by Users
Excellent companion to Movie Challenge This is a special edition of the excellent iPhone game "Movie Challenge", focused specifically on the Oscars, and it's a lot of fun. Frankly, it's more fun than actually watching the Oscars most years. There's two very minor points that I especially appreciate in this game. The first is that they don't ignore the "technical" categories (visual effects, cinematography, etc.). This makes the game more challenging, and also recognizes that these are important categories as well. The other element I like is that it looks like Redwind has been very careful in this edition to distinguish between the year a movie was released from the year a movie received an award or nomination. This is actually pretty important, because a question like "Which movie won Best Picture in 2007?" is confusing because it could refer to the movie released in 2006 that won in 2007 ("The Departed"), or it could refer to the 2007 movie that won in the 2008 ceremony ("No Country For Old Men"). Redwind has chosen to phrase a question like that in a much more clear way that removes any ambiguity.

Great but . . . I love this app. It is awesome, but I really wish they would include more questions about older Oscar-winning movies from the 30s, 40s, etc.
