Lexitron is a fast-paced word game based around anagrams, similar to the game Text Twist. The object of the game is to find as many words as possible from six given letters each round. However, at least one word must be found that uses all six letters, or else the game is over.
Lexitron is an immersive graphical and auditory experience that makes full use of iPhone and iPod Touch hardware capabilities. Players participate with intuitive controls, such as double tapping to submit words, and shaking the device to scramble the order of the letters. Users may choose between various time limits, or play in unlimited time mode, in which the player decides when the round should end.
Lexitron provides full dictionaries for English, French, Italian, and Spanish languages. Lexitron is a great way to boost your vocabulary and sharpen your language skills.

There is a ways to go for this app...... I have bought all of the TextTwist imitations as I am deeply into this genre, but Lexitron has a couple of shortcomings that cause me to only occasionally play this game, compared to WordWarp, which is also not optimal. First, the glitzy colors are distracting. The word list at the top is hard to read, the print is too small and dim. I'm more used to reading top to bottom, not left to right, when it comes to lists. Second, though the type size is large, having to double tap the screen after each submission is annoying since it doesn't always register. Third, I don't like the clock. With a digitized clock, you know exactly how much time is left and can change strategy to find the six letter word, but with this "clock" it is hard to figure. I don't like the sound, though they fixed it, so I turn it off so that's no big deal.Why is it that these diverse developers all miss the boat in trying to replicate THE game we all want, TextTwist? I have it on my iPaq, which has the same screen size as the iPhone, and the font is large, the word list is on the left, it is easy to use and everything is laid out cleanly. I am waiting for the day when that game is ported to the iPhone. What is in App Store to this point are all lacking one thing or another.
