Wow! For $4.99 this app cannot be beat. I could not believe that they are making this available for so little. This is not a replacement for your chartplotter but it is a great way to preplan a boat trip and know what you have ahead of you. The charts, wrecks and landmarks are all there. Tide information and current speed and direction are also a part of this version. The maps are basically as good as anything you are going to find on the market today. If there was some way to download a planned trip to your boat's chartplotter that would be even better. Even still though, $4.99 makes this a must have for any boater.

I'M STILL IN SHOCK AT HOW GREAT THIS APP IS!! Let me tell you... I JUST bought a boat and totally not familiar with the water ways AT ALL! I downloaded the app thinking at least it'll be better than spending $65 on ADC maps. Was I wrong...It's worth way more than that... It's a true nautical GPS! giving you more accurate speed than my speedometer. I'm so Impressed with this app I couldn't begin to tell you in the little space there is to type in here. Don't pass it by!

If you like your iPhone and Sailing you'll love this app This app is great. I used it for a 20 mi trip this weekend all the while comparing it to current charts and it was dead on. It beats my Magellan GPS, I'd need to spend $200 to get access the charts on this app.. Kudos

Great app, great price! I wanted a redundent chartplotter and at $4.99 with hundreds of charts you can't go wrong. First installation had a simplistic looking chart but emailed Navionics and they quickly returned an email and suggested I re-sync and it worked. Actual charts are great and you can adjust settings which is a great feature. My plan is to created "get home" tracks from fishing areas and have the phone as back-up. Should be perfect app for that! I highly recommend.

Best app! No kidding! Ok. This is simple. Bought a boat that had a hummlnbird gps unit. Needed a new data card and the cost is $299. Found this app and it is far more superior to my $600 humminbird. The 2.0 update is incredible and the details are outstanding. Needs navigation up to be added, other than that, perfect! Best $50 I ever spent on my boat, frankly, the cheapest item for my boat. I can't praise the developers enough. Simply, OUTSTANDING!

Excellent I thought Watermap East was a steal at $15.00. This price is unbeatable! With way points, marinas, tides, currents, and the ability to see depths and obstructions at a glance, you can't go wrong.

Fantastic A 50 dollar program for 4.99 ? Biggest no brainer. I will use this as a backup to my garmin 2006c. I will be interested in comparing for accuracy. So far pretty close! Download this before it increases in price. Best 4.99 I have spent PERIOD.

Impressive Update Very impressive update to 2.0. Lat and Lon are displayed when you select a spot. Tracking, distance, waypoints, all nice features. I appreciate the ability to have your speed displayed while underway for testing. It would be nice if there were easier ways to view tides and current, as well as save routes. Still, an amazing application and at the current price, a true steal for any boater. (East Coast cost)

Really cool This is a quantum leap forward compared to the previous versions.
What was kinda basic, if not rudimental, is now a pretty good package. I particularly love the new tide graphs and being able to make a call to a marina with just a click

Version 2.0 is an excellent update. The new 2.0 update to Navionics USA East adds several fine features, including waypoints, routes and tracks. But I couldn't find any way to name a route or track, to save routes and tracks, or to import or export them from my Raymarine E120 chartplotter, or to/from the RNS app on my laptop.
I note that the latest iNavX iPhone app now supports Navionics charts, allows saving, import and export to Raymarine and other devices, and gives the Navionics app some targets for version 3.0.
I still give Navionics 2.0 a 5-star rating.

Don't leave port without it! For $50, this is a great backup to your onboard equipment. It doesn't have the nice waypoint marking features, however, I can turn it on and know exactly where I am and which direction to head to reach my home or destination port. I was in the Bahamas fishing off of the Berry Islands two weeks ago on a friends boat that had GPS problems. Althought we were able to navigate the 51 miles back to the Bell Channel, I felt much better knowing that I had this backup in my bag. The handheld chartplotters, I would assume, are much better, however, for a phone application -- this is awesome!

Nearly worthless to a boater... for me a $50 mistake As a longtime sailor/offshore fisherman I appreciate the great looking charts with superb detail,...BUT...There is NO lat/long detail, PERIOD. Thus the charts are useless for plotting or planning a course, finding or avoiding structure. There is no way to create waypoints, routes, etc. A cursory text description is presented when clicking on a mark or POI without any detail such as Lat/Long. No phone numbers or contact info for marinas, extended info on marks etc. Certainly not the level of detail expected of the Gold chart series.As the screen zooms in or out, text detail shrinks to very small size making selecting a point by touch difficult. It would be nice to have an option to select minimum size for the text, marks etc. It would also be great if it displayed Lat/Long detail when you touch a point on the map, and perhaps a pin drop feature like google maps... Storing favorite locations for quick access would also be helpful. Hopefully an update will address some of these shortcomings if not all... for me, it is currently a $50 mistake

Save your money Although neat, it really is overpriced, and doesn't do what it says it would. I was expecting a chart overlay with a GPS position that kept up real-time, but it lags slowly behind. Also, the "search" function for the marinas works poorly at best. I was expecting a search return with phone #, services available, something. Really a waste of 50 bucks, and I wish I could get a refund. Does no more for me than what google maps does.

Finally! I have been using Navionics Gold for many years, but it was not always available when I needed it. Finally I have it at my fingertips 24/7. Iphone is no substitute for a full sized plotter, but I love the sense of security of having a backup in case of need.

Great App This navigation app is one of the best I've used. Very complete for my region. On a recent fishing trip in very thick fog we lost our GPS and radar navigation. I've been boating many years, this was one time I felt nervous. It's easy to loose your way and get turned around when you don't have any reference points. I wish I had this app then. Not only for my boat but also for the times I'm on other peoples boats. You never can be sure how well other people maintain their boats. This is the perfect backup. FIVE STARS GREAT APP.

This is great... This is great... I have neen using Navionics for years on my plotter and its great to see the charting on iPhone. I spoke to one of the sales guys at the Ft Lauderdale Boat Show, he said they will have all the Nav options up and running sometime in the new year. Best part its up-dateable. Great viewer for 24/7 use anytime.thanks!

bright future for marine charting!! I am a lifelong boater and have been using Navionics for a dozen or more years. These maps look better than others I have seen thus far for Iphone. This makes sense as this company makes mapping for small screens like those on the handheld gps anyhow. Tapping objects and getting their info is really cool, but at times can be a bit finicky.
