Light - Digital Film Tools
Light can be added to a scene where none existed before just as if you were adding light at the time of photography. Realistic lighting and shadow is introduced using digital versions of the gobo library created by Gamproducts. For more information on Gamproducts gobos, please visit their website at www.gamonline.com.
Gobos, or patterns, are widely used by lighting designers in theatre, film, photography and television to create atmosphere, project scenery, and generally enhance the visual impact of their lighting. Normally used in front of lights during photography, these same exact patterns can be applied digitally to the entire image or inside a selected area. Gobos from the Gamproducts collection are included with Light and are arranged into the following categories: Breakups, Foliage, Lights, Sky and Windows.
Don’t settle for bland photos. Spice up your images with Light, just like Hollywood cameraman and photographers do. See the Light!
FEATURES - Control light brightness, blurring, and displacement for light wrapping effects - Adjust light position, rotation and size with on-screen controls - Isolate light using the selection screen - Position slider determines where to put the light - Range slider selects the amount of light - Lum (Luminance), Hue, or Sat (Saturation) buttons change the selection method - Selectively apply light by painting a mask - Shake on the Gobo screens to choose a random gobo - Shake on the image editing screen to reset controls - Edit in portrait or landscape mode - Crop, Rotate, Straighten - Integrated Help
Ok   This app is painfully slow and is not feature packed by any means. Infact it has only one purpose but when it comes down to it it does what it does and does it well. I'd like to see it run faster and if it droped to $1 I'd 100% recomend. The effects look natural and with some creative placement scaling and rotation of the light filters you can give your photo the touchup they probably need as the iPhone has one of the worst cameras out there.

Outstanding!   I'm a huge fan of digital photo editing but unfortunately there is a lot crap on itunes store right now. Not this one though, which is why I bother with a review. This program has lots of options for spicing up your photos in really subtle or striking ways. Be sure to experiment and remember sometimes less is more! Great job!

Lots of potential   This app has great possibilties. I've only just begun to experiment. Everything I've tried so far looks great. I feel this is going to turn out to be one of my favorite apps.

Meh   It's $2 and on an iPhone, so I guess my expectations should be low, but I found the app clunky and of minimal use. It started of promising enough with plenty of options and patterns, but applying any changes is painstakingly slowwww. I'd say wait on this one. They'll either improve it or drop it to .99c

How the heck do they do this?   Just bought this app, and it's a beaut. What makes it so cool is the subtle way the lighting wraps around the subject. The light actually bends where it should, with proper perspective as it curves around cheeks, shoulders, etc. How does this effect work? Does it use luminance to guess which objects are "front" and "back"?I'm a Photoshop dummy. Is there a comparable filter in PS that does the same trick? If so, I can't find it. So here's a nifty $1.99 filter that outperforms the world's leading digital photography app. My only regret is that it's limited to the iPhone's small photo sizes. Wish I could get it on the desktop!

Great app, creativity required.   This app is really great but you have to be creative to begin with. It won't magically change bad photos into good ones. If you have an eye for photography, cinematography and lighting, "Light" is a great app for experimenting with light. What you did virtually can be applied in the real world, and can be an awesome learning tool. On the flip side, the app is a bit processor intensive and crashes once in a while, but the bottom line is that this is a great app from a company that has a solid reputation in the industry. Great job.

Amazing and Fun!   This is an amazing application. You add certain light effects onto a photograph. I have had excellent results. I can't do this on my desktop computer with my photo editing programs - and it is unbelievable what I have been able to accomplish on with this program and my little iphone!

very good. needs a little work.   great start. really enhances photos. great selection of masks and adjustments. needs a little stability work when saving. tends to crash once in a while. other wise, 4.5-5 star app. tackle the stability and its 5 star all the way.

Very cool app, worth the 1.99   This is a nice working app with cool features. I haven't experienced any crashing like other posters mention. This app is useful, entertaining, and allows for some cool image effects. You need to think of this app like it's a game. You'll want to practice and have fun with it. It is certainly easier than doing the same thing in Photoshop and the more you practice, the more useful it will be.

Great light effects!   Beautiful app with so many choices in pattern and their setup. But I deduct one star due to the app crashing every time it tries to save a large, blurred pattern. It seems that on the second or third try that the final output is able to be saved.
Please fix. Thanks!
