AMBER Alert - Jonathan Zdziarski
This application from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children® (NCMEC) is designed to help in the search for and safe recovery of missing children. It includes:
- A real-time feed of active AMBER Alerts including information about the victim, the abductor, and other details like the kind of vehicle they may be traveling in or the area where they may be located.
- A listing of missing children from NCMEC including photos and any known details about the circumstances of their disappearance.
- A listing of missing children from NCMEC organized by the states from where they are missing.
If a user has information about a case or has seen one of the missing children, they can press a button and automatically call NCMEC’s toll-free 24-hour hotline 1-800-THE-LOST (800-843-5678), or send a report that includes their current GPS coordinates and their phone number in case more details are needed. NCMEC staff will use the information from these calls and reports to potentially help law enforcement recover the missing child.
This application is represented by the AMBER Alert logo and includes a listing of all active AMBER Alerts but does not actively notify the user when a new AMBER Alert is issued. For active notification, NCMEC encourages all wireless subscribers to register to receive Wireless AMBER Alerts™. Through that initiative, they can sign up at www.wirelessamberalerts.org to receive text message notices about AMBER Alerts that have been issued in their area.

Laudable application This app does a great service to the community and to the family and victims of abduction. I recommend the option to limit amber alerts to a certain radius of the current location, but if there aren't that many active amber alerts it might not be necessary.

Recommended additions App should use location info to sort/inform the order of the children listed. Also needs to be an option for realtime alerts.

Missing location services? This app needs location services. I should be able to tell it to show me amber alerts or missing child alerts near me (within some radius I define). I travel a lot so changing my location manually isn't so useful and not what I expected from an iPhone app.

It's about time.Thank you. Everyone please for obvious reasons get this app and rate it 5 stars so we can keep it at the top of the free apps. It's listings are extensive by state and it also has immediate amber alerts. Photos are very clear and there is a button to report a siting on every listing. If someone were to grab you we could find you here and very possibly save your life. This is the best paid or free app due to the nature and possibilities. It deserves more than five stars but alas we are limited.

Excellent tool to help find missing kids! This program is well set up and should be on every iPhone.
Often times the amber alert on the radio is too fast to write info. With this app if we spot the car there is a REPORT SIGHTING button right on the report.

Finally an App that will Save lives This app is awesome I've had this app on my iPod for about 3 weeks now and the features are great. I just wish they would give an update once in awhile on some of the cases.

Great except for frequent crashes! Needs ability to email profiles and needs to be fixed from the frequent crashes (when searching by state).
I like it better than the other Amber Alert app from what I've seen so far.

Great app I hope lots of kids get brought home safely because of this app. My only suggestion to be a five star app is that I'd like to be able to email a profile to someone. That way if I know someone who lives in an area where a child is missing I can send the childs profile to them. Thank you for making this app!
