When you run the iDiary for the first time on your iPhone or iPod Touch, you will be prompted to set up a password. Please keep the password safe because you will need it when logging into the application later.
On the Monthly Calendar view, a green dot above a date indicates that you have saved a journal for that day. Click on the date, a preview of your diary will appear on the bottom of the screen. Double tap the date to mark it with colors. Press the ‘+’ button to add a new entry and enter the Editing view. You can also easily navigate to the previous and next months, go to a specific date, or return to ‘today’. Use the search view to browse all your journals in a list. You can also enable or disable the auto correction feature when editing. Entries will automatically saved if the auto-save option is on. The exported journals are sorted by creation or date order. Click URL links in iDiary://<text> format in emails and other apps will import the text into iDiary.
If the encrypted journal was altered without authorization, or the database is damaged, iDiary will display the following message: “Corrupted data!”.
Use any web browser to backup/restore iDiary's data on/from your PC/Mac through HTTP protocol (requires Wi-fi network connection). Backup database can be transferred to other iPhone devices, and entries are encrypted
DO NOT delete the old version of iDiary on your iPhone or iPod Touch, as this will erase any data you have entered. When upgrading, Please install the update over the existing installation.
Please write a review. We would like to hear your thoughts and feedback! Please email us bug reports and suggestions too. Triple Creeks Studio

Useful App but Needs Some Kind of Desktop Sync   Useful App for keeping track of those important things in your life that you want secured. This would definitely be a 5 star app if it had a desktop companion application. Although I did have some bug issues with early versions. The latest version runs flawless. No hangs, crashes or weird behavior.

Almost perfect   This app. Is perfect as a simple day planner. But I would like to see the password protection be an option :)
Thanks for a great app.

Fantasic!   Just purchased this app and I'd've paid double! Worth every penny, and much more feature-rich than MyDiary. Hello, iDiary; so long MyDiary. Can't wait for the updates. Great job so far!
Seems to be a glitch where the keyboard doesn't always fully show up on startup of the app in the two most recent updates. Can we get a fix for that?

Really Good App   This is a wonderful application. I would have given it 5 stars, but it does not have the predictive text (spell check/word replacement) feature that is basic to the iPhone/iPod Touch. MyDiary has that feature, but it does not have the looks or navigation abilities that this app has. If this one feature gets fixed in an update, I'd give this app 5 stars instead of 4. Wait! I just noticed another problem. You can't see what you're typing if you go longer than the window that's open when the virtual keyboard is in use. It does not scroll so you can see what you're typing. That knocks it down from 4 to 3 stars. Get those 2 things fixed and the rating goes up to 5 stars.I agree, you really do need a website up so that we can stop asking questions through the ratings. Anyway, I also agree with the request to sync the app to the computer (hopefully Mac as well as PC). I also want to suggest a search feature. This would enable me to easily find entries I'm looking for. Thanks for the fix that's on the way. :-)The things I mentioned earlier have now been fixed. I'm bumping this app up from 3 stars to 5 stars! This is a great app! The only things I'd like to see on this application now are 1) a way to make multiple entries on the same day - with a time notation, and 2) a way to choose fonts and even font colors for each entry. But even without these things, this is a very good app!

Great program - 2 suggestions   Overall the application is great! Two suggestions: 1) Adding a FIND feature would be a helpful feature to search the contents of the entries. 2) Being able to view a particular day as a LIST like the iPhone calendar would make reviewing days with numerous entries more convenient. Perhaps these features will be part of an update. Again, overall, I thing the program is GREAT!

I'm Bummed   I thought this would be a great app but when I started typing I lost view of what I was typing. I just read other reviews and they say thanks for fixing bugs. Was this one of the bugs that was suppose to be fixed? If so the fix didn't work for the app I just bought. I would really like the app if I could see what I was typing. The idea was great but .... I'm really angry that I paid $7 for this thing!! Please fix this problem and I will gladly up the rating

Didn't Work For Me
A very nice little applet!   I purchased this program mainly to be able to keep track of a few things, without the worry of someone else reading them; this program fits the bill. I've only used the program about 4 or 5 times so far, but quickly found it to be easy, functional, and enjoyable to use. iDiary does one thing and does it well. I give it 5 stars. $6.99 (at the time of my purchase) for some people might be steep, but for ease of use and what it does....it's worth every penny to me!To the reviewer who stated there is no spell check, perhaps that was the case when the program 1st came out............but there is one now, and it's quite good!

Works fine. Categories and live links would be helpful.   It looks like the developer has addressed most of the earlier criticisms of this application. I haven't entered enough data to test its stability, but with a few entries, it smoothly delivers everything promised in the App Store description. I'd like to be able to turn off the password feature. I'd also like to list entries by a few categories I can set: "health" "vehicles" "house", etc. Granted, I can include those as keywords in the diary entry and then search for them, but then I must remember to use the same word every time. Finally, I wish that phone numbers, email addresses, and URL's were live links. Wishes aside, this is a perfectly capable diary app.

Strong App   Using vers. 1.3.1. I'm really liking this app. The landscape view and ability to choose font & font size is awesome. It almost invites me to type. Would like to see ability to add iphone camera photo(s) to an entry also a feature to publish to a wordpress blog would be excellent. Beware of the little box icon at the bottom - it seems to erase everything you've typed. Get rid of that please!

Color   Just what I needed. A few things to help me. Color coded lines so by just looking at the month I can see how many of a color I have for a topic I pick to write about more than one day. And the name.. The icon is great. But the idiary just makes every person that may look at my phone.. Say "oh u got something to talk about" and try and butt their way into me opening it. just like to skip any Convo that may come up about it. Thanks a lot!

Great App   This app works great and does everything that it claims to do. Good navigation and great setup for writing extensive entries. I use it as a basic to do list, and I can write as much as a I need to per entry (good for workouts, problems with a to do task, etc.). A couple of things that could make it better is if there was an option to put a future time down for an entry (e.g. Put "Football Game" as an entry for next Sunday and then be able to put time of game). An alarm for future entries would also be nice. Additionally, it would be great if a user could reorder the list of entries for a day. Finally, I wish there was a way to turn off the password prompt. I think that each of these abilities would make the app better without taking away from its essential purpose. iDiary is already way better than any to do list or calender app that I can find, and adding to the app in those dimensions would make it phenomenal.

Back Up would be great   I like the program, but would LOVE it if:1, It would backup to Desktop2, It had the ability to enter info on the desktop as well as iPhone.3, You could choose the color of the indicator on the calendar. In other words, I might want to use one color for each day I workout and another color for each day I met with a particular client.4, Search is very important.5, I know this won't happen, but being able to input info over the internet by going to a specific site would be the ultimate..Thanks either way to the developer!

Great Interface! Easiest Diary App to Use!   This is by far the best Diary application for the iPhone. I have tried various others such as My Diary, and Nano Diary Lite. But this was the best so far. With the newly added ability to change the indicator color and the ablility to turn off the password it makes it more preferible. Thanks to the developers. I love developers that actually listen to what the customers want and add it. Great Job! The only things that would make it even even better are:
1. More color choices for the monthly view.
2. It would be great if we could be able to attach photos to some of our diary entires.
3. I would like to see a way to have categories. Like to have a different calendar for different things. I could use one that had all of my work entries and one that had all of my pets an another for other parts of my life. Almost like a way to view them seperatley, because having them all in one calendar is too confusing and they are to hard to find, even with the search feature.
4. I would also like to see another way to transfer entries out of the application. Preferibly, a way that is more secure than just emailing them. For example, Air Sharing uses an web-sharing system. However, it has a password login that is needed. So if the developer could do something similiar to that, it would be great.
But this app is still great without these features, and they would simply make it phenomonal. Keep up the good work developers!

Good interface but needs minor improvements   1. Needs automatic time stamp
2. Too many key strokes! When opening new note, keyboard should show by default. No need to click on done button and then save button. Need to make it more efficient to save notes.
3. would be nice to save photo, voice notes, and geotag.
Overall great app!
