Loved it I didn't get it originally for my dog and if I place the sound at 12 KHz it's very noticeble to friends and my 5 dogs. Great ^_^

Test it out My friends dog wouldn't stop putting her dirty toy on my knees & feet. She also would not let go so I could throw it for her. Once I figured out which frequincy would bother her & not me (16000)after two or so tries her behavior totally changed. Then when she was kamikazing around the house I pressed this app and she imadatly slowed down. So with the right frequincy and short whistles I think this app is wonderful.

Grammar problems? I have never reviewed an app before but felt the need to get a few things off my chest. Some of the people who "review" these apps need to go back to grade school and study basic English, "the app "DON'T" work"??? Why should any of us listen to a so-called "reviewer" with obvious primitive intellect and a complete disregard for basic contractions such as "DOESN'T"? You dishonor the American Educational System and it truly baffles the mind how you're able to work an iPhone at all, let alone own one. As for the whistle app, well, it blows!

Dog whistle I read the reviews... which had me wondering If it was worth the time to download. But, I did it anyway. Once downloaded... I pressed the whistle and heard nothing. My lab just looked at me and shook her head. I thought, "what a joke"... but that's when my boy said, What's that noise?" I'm thinking "What noise?" so I pressed it again. Same thing... he heard it and I didn't.
Then, when the rest of the family got home I did it again. This time my wife andkids were in the other part of the house and one was even down stairs. Everyone yelled, "What's that noise?" it blows me away that they all hear something and I can't... unless I turn the frequency way down.
I'm glad I downloaded the app.. and it does work. I think they should call itva wife and kid whistle though.

Quieted them down real quick Works for me. Downloaded the app this evening and waited for the dogs to start yipping away. started the app, and watched as their ears perked and the yipping stopped. I was skeptical at first but it works great

Works! First I tried it didn't work.. Then I realized I had the sound turned off.. Duh. It definitly works my dogs can definitly hear it. Now if I only knew how to use it to train my dog.. Well that's my problem but great app good job worth the download and best of all it's FREE!

User error People, your dog is not going to do a magic trick just because you blow a dog whistle. You have to train him/her what the whistle sound means first, otherwise it's just a noise. Dogs don't have a genetic response to dog whistles, you have to teach them that it is a command.
That being said, all speakers have a limit to their dynamic range and I doubt the iPhone speakers are optimal for high pitch frequncies beyond the normal hearing range. It's probably not nearly as loud to dogs as a real whistle.

works! went to the dog park and used this and a whole herd of dogs came rushing towards me! if you hold down the image while moving the slider you can select the right settings.The people who gave this 1 star are stupid.

Good idea, but needs some adjustment The application does exactly what it's supposed to: make high pitched noise. Please don't complain just because your particular animal didn't react to that noise. Just because there is a nooise does not mean every animal will react to it. Mine did.
While I'd like to give a good review, I can't. This app asks for your location when opening, which is annoying and worrisome. What exactly do you need my location for? Also, the hit box for the slider bar is way too small which makes it difficult to adjust. If not for those two problems, I'd give it five stars.
