Great Medical App! This APP is very informative. But I would like to say to the developers: Why and HOW can you in good faith charge so much for books like "Tabers" medical dictionary. You are selling AIR for almost the same price as a PUBLISHED book. How... WHY? It is a GREAT reference, BUT, no PAPER printed on and No PUBLISHING costs. Yes you pay for rights, but the two mentioned items are quiet costly when printing a book yet you charge the same price to print it electronically! Shame on you and all others doing the same!

helpful It is helpful for med students, particularly for write ups and studying for known cases. If you have a patient with a certain symptom or disease on rounds you know you're going to be asked about the differential, so it is a quick and easy way to review before you present. For a dollar it is worth buying. With that said it would definitely be helpful to be able to put in multiple symptoms. It wouldn't be that hard either if they just tagged each disease with a list of symptoms.

Love diagnosaurus I had it on my palm pilot before buying an iPhone. I wrote to unbound several times asking them to make it available for iPhone. I am a hospitalist nurse practitioner and use this software almost everyday. Great for midlevels and medical students! Well worth 99 cents.

Not free? I used to love this app on my old Windows Mobile PDA and have been waiting for it to come to the iPhone platform for a long time. Now that it's out, I can't believe they are charging money for it - it is FREE on every other platform (PC, Windows Mobile, Blackberry, Palm)! Regardless, it's a great app and I decided to throw down a buck for it. My only wish is that users should be able to input multiple symptoms to narrow the DDx. If they are going to charge money for the iPhone version, it should contain some features that the other free versions do not have...

Tastes great, less filling This app is worth 100 times what they charge. Any doc who would criticize it because it used to be free and the publisher now wants to make a buck (yeah, 1 friggin dollar), please get a life. What is wrong with people complaining about $1 for a decent app? Sheesh, some people!

Too simplistic for use in practice Perhaps useful for a generalist who does not have much contact with a subspecialty area, but doesn't provide much in depth information. For example, under "atrial fibrillation" the differential includes "atrial flutter (especially if variable block," "MAT," etc., which you would probably know if you knew enough to have selected atrial fibrillation in the first place, but there is no choice for an "irregular rhythm" or "irregularly irregular rhythm" which would be more likely be truly helpful under the broad heading of "EKG."

Decent Performs as promised, but I was really hopping to be able to enter multiple symptoms to narrow the DDx. There are FREE programs that allow you to search for differentials (and that include additional information about many of the items on the differential), as well as FREE sites online that allow you to enter multiple symptoms. If Diagnosaurous added this small feature it would truly be unique and essential!

simple and straightforward This is just what I expected and what I use it for--a reminder list of differential diagnoses--to prompt me when seeing a problem that I haven't dealt with for a while. I don't mind paying $0.99 for this app. I don't expect it to do anything beyond what it says it will. And I don't need all the other bells and whistles, nor do I need it to give me lots of details about the diagnoses listed. I have other references for that. Easy to navigate.

A Buck Well Spent! Intuitive interface, cross-references to other symptoms, and ability to search by symptoms, organ groups, or diseases. And all for a buck!As others have said, however, it would be great to have the capability to input multiple symptoms to narrow the list of differential diagnoses.

Nice application, Unbound Medicine! Obviously, no computer program can completely replace good diagnostic skills, but this app helps you to develop some working hypotheses based on primary symptomology. Even narrows the symptom list by medical speciality. Very creative app and nicely priced.
