Sloppy I love Tap Tap 2, but I just can't find any fun here. The default graphics are a huge step down from the slick interface of #2. The taps slow down weirdly and bunch up toward the end. Viva la Vida had performance problems and got very jerky. The tutorial locked up on my first try. The downloads don't have prices until you try to purchase. The track packs are named poorly to where the top DLC on the app store is useless. I couldn't even find enjoyment in my favorite song from #2: Tap Domination. :'-(
I could go on and on. This release is a disaster. Nice try guys, but you shouldn't have thrown away what worked.

Underwhelming, to say the least I know it just came out, but there are barely any songs that are free for download, and songs that I loved from TTR2 I have to pay for to get in a bundle. What's with that? Why not have a feature that lets you import the songs you downloaded in TTR2, like how you could import songs from paid Tap Tap games into TTR2. I understand the premise behind the paid bundles, but why would you make me pay for songs that I could play just by quitting the app and opening up the previous iteration of the game? Here's an idea; have the coins that are used for avatars apply to some song bundles, or just individual songs. That's something else that should be addressed, why do I HAVE to buy a bundle when I only want one or two songs? The Killers bundle is a perfect example. The only song in there I know well and like is Mr. Brightside, and I want to be able to purchase that separately from the rest of the bundle. Maybe with a large amount of coins earned or by spending 25 cents or so could purchase a song separate from its respective bundle.I'm sure the avatars and levels will motivate some people to play more, but they don't do a thing for me. I play this game for the sake of playing it. To have fun and enjoy the music, not to dress up some two dimensional pseudo-Gaia-Online version of me.The game also runs fairly slowly upon starting a song, with all the new visual features from the menu and all. This is usually remedied by restarting the song with that new "Restart" button in the pause menu; incidentally one thing I thought really needed to be added to TTR2. Another, very small gripe, is how the the edges of the held notes look. They look very cut off at the end of it where the tail feeds onto the visible track.I've spoken with people in the "Freedom" chat, and they generally seemed to agree with me on this being underwhelming in the ways I mentioned above. I do enjoy the chat feature, though it could do with a little optimizing so it can run smoother. I also like the up-to-date note hit percentage in the corner, as well as the accuracy meter. The 16x multiplier is also a nice addition, and the notes in the songs I've played seem to have the notes much more in sync with the music than in the previous version.As I paid money for this and some songs in it, I'm going to keep it, and hope that the TTThursdays still have the free featured track (you have no idea how many bands I was introduced to by that!), and that it gets updated to fix some of the problems mentioned above. For the most part, though, I, and many people in the Freedom chat room, am going to stick with TTR2.Cheers ^^

You pay and pay again? I just feel like I got ripped off right now. You had to buy the game and now you need to pay more to get the songs you get for free on TT2? That doesn't make any sense. Just stick with TT2 until they allow us to transfer the downloaded music to TT3 or just wait until they come up with a BETTER solution.

Not as good at all In my eyes, Tap Tap Revenge 2.6 is the best. No need for those in-app purchases! In this game, you have to buy songs! This interface is no where as nice, but it is still worth 99 cents. I know I am definitely sticking to Tap Tap Revenge 2.6 over this. Good try though Tapulous

A great game...if you're willing to spend money. The guys back at Tapulous have done it again by unveiling Tap Tap 3, the latest installment to their tapping and shaking based game. The concept is pretty much the same to its predecessors as you tap the orbs that come down and shake your device when you are prompted to, making it user friendly to veterans and new-comers as well. While the game holds the same concept, some new innovations have been added to make the game seem fresh and new. For starters, you now use a customizable avatar drawing that can you can customize through its clothing, hair style, accesories, background, and gender just as you would in Rock Band or in Guitar Hero. It may seem great because its following in the footsteps made by these iconic games, but the customization is anything but. You are only allowed to customize the avatar through a series of complicated menues. And after shelling out some of the "coins" that you win as you progress through the game, you may be a little displeased as I was when you see the useless changes that the customization does because of the inability to see your avatar in the piece of clothing you are interested in. My avatar did not look good in a color that turned out as pink. On to the gameplay, it remains the same as from the games leading up to TTR3, but some changes were made. During the progression of songs, series of gems come up that resemble Overdrive Notes or Star Power Notes in Rock Band and Guitar Hero, respectively. Strike them all, and you are given an amplifier that can crank up your multiplier from 8x to 16x. That was pretty cool, in my opinion, and I did like the change in the interface making the game look and feel great. As in previous games, the player often had to shake the device to mark the arrows coming down but in those games players had to violently jerk their device causing brief disruptions in gameplay. Not anymore in this game. The game uses the slightest of movement from the Accelerometer to mark the arrows and makes the gameplay flow better. All in all, gameplay is great and refreshing, although the limited amount of initial music may bring down the new innovations. In this game, the new use of the music store is where it really irritates me. As in Rock Band and Guitar Hero, players can download DLC (downloadable content) to expand the library of the game. TTR3 also took this to its advantage and launched its own store; this is where confusion kicks in. As you look through the offers, you may find a song you may like by an artist but also may find a song that is not so popular with you. Try and buy a single and you're hit with a notice about buying Track Packs rather than an actual single. That's right. You have to buy an entire track pack to play a single and get stuck with songs that you are not all too crazy about. The free content isn't helping the store either. In previous games, you found artists and bands such as Asher Roth, Coldplay, Lady GaGa, Rise Against, Senses Fail, and a multitude of many others in the free content area, officially making this the cornerstone to the app's success. In this game, you will find none of these artists in the free content section, rather you will find lesser known musicians with a generic and awkward sound. But what about the major bands out there? Buy the track packs, not the singles but the track packs. The interface of the store is also fairly confusing as you can get lost as I have trying to find my way through the store's confusion and many menues. This was just the disappointment of the app. All in all, the app is fairly fun with new improvements to the game however can throw players off through the various menues and the depressingly expensive music store. I highly recommend it to rich kids and adults, as well as to people who have a vast amount of patience.

Stop crying about the premium pricing! There are licensing issues at hand with previously free songs that now cost money, I'm guessing. People don't seem to realize that the devs don't owe the rights to any of these songs.
They can't give these songs away for free without permission from the artists who actually recorded them. The free agreement between TTR and these various recording artists was likely for one game only, TTR2, and a new game, TTR3, means new agreements.
Tracks in Rock Band and Guitar Hero must be relincensed. If you want to use them in seperate games, you must repurchase them.
Gwen Stefani, for example, is not licensing her tracks to the devs of TTR so that they can then turn around and give those tracks away to us for free. TTR HAS to charge for these premium tracks.
The indie stuff is still free, but the Record label stuff cannot be free. People need to deal with it and stop crying about it. The music industry is a business.

Awesome!!!!! I have been waiting for this app for a long time!!!! great online play, and MUCH more organized than the previous versions! the quick play feature is nice to have, and the 16x multiplier is new, too. I really like the timing guide for the notes, so you can more accurately tap when the notes appear. Great job, Tapulous!!!!

Best app ever People are complaining that the good songs need to be payed for, but do you really think that blink 182, the foo fighters or the smashing pumpkins would give out their songs for free? The biggest song in the old game was "last resort", you can't top the old game with songs that were given away. The only thing they sold out on is selling songs that were free on the old game. So far so goog but I know they can't resist ruining the game with pop and hiphop
