Check the tide before you head to the beach to surf, tide pool or just go for a walk or run. No network connection is required, so you can check anytime, anywhere.
ShralpTide displays the current tide along with the high and low tides for the current day and the next 4 days.
Includes an INTERACTIVE FULLSCREEN TIDE GRAPH in landscape mode. Turn the device on its side then touch the screen to see the tide at any time in the 24 hour window.
--------------------------------------------- *** Regarding Tide Station Locations ***
Shralp Tide does not include all of the tide stations in the world. It has good coverage of the US and Canadian coasts as well as Australia, New Zealand and Japan. Beyond that there is spotty coverage of international locations.
As of version 1.1.1, currents will no longer be available in Shralp Tide because they were a source of confusion to those expecting only tides. If enough people vote YES to seany's review I'll add currents back in a future release. I just need to clearly distinguish currents from tide stations to reduce confusion.

Perfect!   Free? This app is worth $! 10 seconds after download, I had my choice of at least 10 local spots. I don't like text tides, so I flip the phone on it's side and BAM! Graphic chart!!! Perfect! Slide the time line across the screen and you'll know exactly when to hit the water. Great job!

Fantastic   Used for the first time this morning at Mt. Auburn cemetary in Boston. It was wonderful for the warbler migration! No heavy books to carry. Faster than searching thru a book. The drawings and photos are great. And being able to compare songs really helped. I love this app.

Quick, accurate & no ads   at least no ads that I could find.
Download, 'use current location' and
Enter. That's it. Go to the beach before or after lunch? Refresh it before you go out, and yer good for five days!
Did I mention no visible ads?

Very clean app   I too tried this app because the other one I used bombed after upgrading. I had low expectations, but have found that this app is far superior to the others that i've tried. I especially like the facts that a) no net connection is required and b) the tide graph's rubber-band effect (which snaps you back to current time) is absolutely world-class. The author should get an award just for the rubber-band alone. The software technique is simple enough, but the insight to use it is shear brilliance. Suggestion: provide a way to go next/prev day when in landscape/chart mode. I would like to see current info brought back, but this app is solid as it is. Well done.

A bit weak   Guess I shouldn't have expected much. How do I change meters to feet. If you don't make a selection there is no way to get back out of tide station list without exiting the program.

Simple and effective   Much better than the rest of the tide apps. It has a clean design and it's very responsive. Allow us to look 10 days ahead instead of just 5 and you'll get 5 stars. Thanks for all the work you put into this.

Very useful app...   We live 30 miles southeast of Hilo, HI, and this app is great for advising guests (and ourselves) of the best times for snorkeling, etc. I'd love to see moon phase info and sun/moon rise and set. I'm a bit lame with the 24-hour clock and would appreciate an option to select a 12-hour clock, but I can deal with that. Nice job.

Pretty interface   Of the three free tide apps I have downloaded, this one has the nicest presentation and includes a handy arrow icon indicating if the tide is rising or dropping. I wish it had current data as well as a graph. Sadly, none of these three apps has all three features (tide, current, graph). This app has fewer U.S. tide stations than the other two apps, so I removed it from my iPod in favor of the other two apps.

Captain of the port   Ahoy...
Been a fan of TideApp but recent update bombed. Tried this. Short, sweet & to the point. Like that!
Would like it more with both tide & current data. Vote 'yes' for it's return.

Missleading and no features   No moon / sun data, no graphs, no date selector, and no stations in many countries. Multipane view suggests multiple stations but NO! No recent list either. Compared to other tide apps, this gets a 1 star. Other 5 star reviews are obviously from the author. Don't be fooled.
