I loved it - a game that's fun and educational! I thought this was a really clever idea! It was fun to try to guess the diseases and test my knowledge. I'm glad I already made it through medical school - some of them were hard. I thought this would be a great tool to refresh your knowledge as an older physician.

eh... not that great great idea, but unfortunately it only uses a limited image supply, so you can memorize each one. it would be great if it was a real learning tool, with explanations after each image, or if the user had the ability to view all the images and learn from those.

Fun to compete with peers! What a great way to sharpen your diagnostic skills! Just look at the photo and select one of three choices and get immediate feedback. Then when you are done see how you stack up against your peers. Very cool! Thanks Epocrates.

-2 stars (but can't choose less than 1 star) The buttons are too difficult to hit...and my fingers are thin and small (AND stable).
The pictures are covered with large squares that uncover one by one. By the time the picture is exposed, you have less than a second to examine it AND try to select the proper button. It's more of a test of dexterity and speed than recognition and identification.
The pic identified as a keloid is mislabled (and the actual pic of a keloid was mislabeled without keloid as an option).
It's slow and buggy, takes too long to load.
One good point about the app is that it's free, so I wont feel guilty when I delete it.
Oh...I do have to give it credit for the pictures that do show up for a brief second. They are really vivid and clear.
This app could get five stars. The problems are fixable. But for now, I have better things to do... like ironing my shoelaces.

Does Not Work Nice effort but just does not work. Keeps resetting and does not allow me to make a choice. Maybe since I have a newer version iPhone. They need to be better at technology and not release without proper testing..

Room for improvement The NEJM has an activity called image challenge which is more practical in its application. The images in this app recycle themselves so if you can actually memorize the correct answer from a previous attempt so that no real learning is taking place. There is some potential for this app. If the people who develop new medical apps would take the time to engage medical professionals in the process of development they would end up with a much better app to start with. Unfortunately, Apple DOES NOT have a quality control process where their medical apps are reviewed/evaluated by medical professionals. They allow any app calling itself "medical" to be placed on their medical app site. Epocrates and other apps like it are for the medical professionals in the clinical setting seeing patients. The rest are a waste of time and money for medical professionals.
