Wished I had read the reviews It had plenty of 5 star reviews, but lots of 1 stars also. The constant SPAM is so annoying, especially since I don't text so I am getting charged for all of this SPAM! Total garbage.

Constant, Annoying Text Message Alerts The application claims that "Powder Alerts" is by default set to 'Off' which in fact was true when i checked my app settings. So I can't for the life of me explain why I even started getting "Powder Alerts"!!! I checked, double checked & rechecked my settings...OFF! I finally removed the app hoping that that might do something and yet, text message after text message, they're still coming. So 'downloader' beware!!! I'm sure the app is fine & dandy but the constant Powder Alerts overshadowed any postive feelings!

Be ready for text message This app is off to a good start. Be aware that if you select any resort as a favorite, you will receive a text message on your phone/ device if there is new snow (apparently even if 'Powder Alerts' are switched OFF in settings). very nice so far this app is really nice. i dont think its slow or clunky. its smooth and fast on my iPhone. i cant wait to see some more update. it really needs to have the date/time of the snow report. without this info you really dont know if you are getting good info. i didnt give it 5 stars because i haven't been able to test the 'find a friend' feature. - iSki App review by Nople

Where have you been? The best looking snow report application that I have found. What? And it is free? I like how so much information is available from my favorites folder.. Best snow report app I've seen to date iSki App is by far the best snow & ski report application that I have seen for the iPhone to date. The presentation is clear and appealing. iSki has great features like Web Cam images, Trail Maps and even a way to locate yourself & your other friends using iSki. How cool is that! The application is very intuitive to use. I know that a few users have complained about Powder Alert text messages. I think that this is a great feature. UPDATE 01/14/09: After numerous attempts to contact the developer via their website, I was given a false phone number and no resolution to this problem. Meanwhile, I continue to receive UNWANTED SMS ALERTS! I don't know what else to do so, I have reported this app!If everyone experiencing this same issue takes a minute to REPORT THIS APP maybe our voices will be heard! On the iPhone, go the app's home page (in the app store) and click "Report a Problem" (located under "Reviews"). If everyone posts a review, with the date they reported the app, maybe Apple will finally take some action!--Original Review--I liked this app until I began receiving unwanted SMS alerts. I have deleted this app but I continue to receive text alerts, at least daily, which I am paying for. Will not stop sending SMS alerts! How do I kill this thing???? I have turned off the alerts feature, but it keeps sending me SMS messages. I have even tried removing it... but still get the messages. Run Away! UPDATE 4: Still getting alerts with no contact from support for a week. They gave me their cell to forward the SMS and it was some lady with know idea of iSkiApp. Apple should pull this app and any from them.UPDATE 3: I removed the app and received 2 more Alerts so far! Their support is supposed remove my number from the database, but this an app that keeps on giving... even when you don't want it.UPDATE 2: After their email telling me the Powder Alerts and 'Related Issues' were fixed i tried it again. I NEVER turned on the alerts but got one this morning. I have removed the app from the iPhone and the Mac for the last time.UPDATE 1: I am testing the new version and so far so good. I will test the alerts too and update here. Until then my 1 is now a 3.OLD: I enjoyed this app at first. Trail Maps, Web Cams, Nice interface and seems fast to me. So why 1 star? I made the huge mistake (someone else mentioned this too) of turning on Powder Alerts. Funny thing is I turned it on and then off with-in 15 seconds. The next morning I got an SMS at 6:30 with a snow report. Woke me up! So then I checked and Powder Alerts were on! So, again I turned it off. The next day, an Alert! I checked it and it was off. The developer has my number and is sending me SMS alerts on my dime. I decided to give it one more day to be fair. Powder Alerts is off and I got another one this morning. Definitely Has Potential Fortunately, I haven't been bombarded with txt messages (yet), so it's a bummer that people have been, and I think that's definitely worthy of complaining about, especially if you turned the alerts off! But on to the app itself, well, it has a lot of potential, and it certainly isn't bad for free. Many of the resorts don't have webcams as expected, nor do they trail maps, but I'm hoping this will be addressed in future updates. The one thing I'd really like to see here is listings for cross country ski resorts! As most of my fellow x-country skiers are aware, knowledge of trail conditions is very important to us having a good or bad day on the slopes, so including some of the major resorts in the US and Canada would be really awesome. - iSki App review by FlopsyGoose
