*** IMPORTANT *** - This is only for AT&T iPhones, not iPods - If you are using iOS 3.x you must also install our companion app "Easy WiFi" as it fixes a problem with auto-login (it's free, and you don't even need to run it!)
WHAT THIS APP DOES: Easy Wi-Fi for AT&T iPhones replaces the multi-step SMS based login mechanism that AT&T provides for their iPhone customers with a single app launch. Configure the application once by entering your AT&T hotspot user name (your 10 digit AT&T iPhone number is your AT&T hotspot user name). After that, whenever you're in range of an AT&T hotspot, simply launch the app and within a few seconds you'll be connected to the internet. No need to type anything, and no waiting for an SMS.
WHAT IT DOES NOT DO: Easy Wi-Fi does not turn Wi-Fi on automatically, nor does it select the Wi-Fi network. (Those are not possible within the rules of the current iPhone SDK agreement.) We're hoping a future upgrade to the iPhone will allow these things to be done from a third party application without breaking the agreement.
As long as you leave Wi-Fi turned on, and you have connected at least once to the 'attwifi' network, your iPhone should remember it and automatically reconnect when you are in range of the hotspot's Wi-Fi. The first time you use AT&T's hotspot network, simply choose the 'attwifi' network from the list of Wi-Fi networks, then run Easy Wi-Fi to log in.
SETUP: Start Easy Wi-Fi the first time, and enter your 10-digit phone number. That's it! Note: you must be an AT&T subscriber.
USAGE: Simply start the Easy Wi-Fi application once you're in the AT&T Wi-Fi location and it will log you in. A few seconds later you're connected!
PRIVACY: We only need your iPhone number because that is your AT&T Wi-Fi user name. We will not share your number with others, call you ourselves or send you SMS messages. We only use the number to connect you to AT&T Wi-Fi hotspots.
The "reviews" below that claim we will sell your number are wrong. We take our members' privacy very seriously and do everything we can to protect your data. We will never use any hotspot user names, including your AT&T iPhone number, for anything other than connecting you to a hotspot.
If you have any concerns about how we use your phone number, we welcome you to post them in our forum (see below) and we'll do our best to explain.
HAVE QUESTIONS? Please don't post support requests in the reviews here as we have no way to respond to you with help. Instead, visit our forums at http://forum.devicescape.com/ and post your question there - we will try to answer anything posted there within one business day.

Lies!!!   I was ready to use this product but spent time reading the private usage police. They claim they will not directly contact you or give our your number, however, their usage policy says otherwise. They will give out your personal info to third parties.

Beware of how your phone number and email address may be used   From their web site: "We may share personal information such as email addresses and usage data with third parties for their direct marketing purposes."
Does that information include your cell phone number, so that you'll be getting calls from telemarketers on your cell? What usage information are they giving to direct narketers? What sites you've visited? Just be careful with apps that require you to give them your cell phone number.

Worthless- just use ATT login   Just tried program at Starbucks on my iPhone . It kept shutting down after telling me I needed to first be logged into the Internet. I thought that was what the program was supposed to simplify? Never could use it to login.
Then I tried the ATT version of submitting your iPhone number. Got the text message immediately to log in. Quick and painless.

What a waste.

why do you want my phone number?   I thought I would open you and get the nearest AT&T wifi places, but for some reason you need my phones imei number and my personal cell phone number for this? kind of creepy. maybe explaining how needing that information will help me find the wifi points near me before just demanding it would be a better introduction. deleted this app before it needs my friends cell phone numbers too.

Doesn't work.   The first time I ran this application it errored out saying it needed to be configured, but then I couldn't configure it because I wasn't connected to the Internet... It wouldn't let me do anything, just switching between an error on the main screen and an error on the configure screen. Being on EDGE or 3G apparently isn't good enough for it to configure.Once it was configured, it was _never_ able to log me into an AT&T wifi spot. I tried with several AT&T Wifi spots and it merely spins for a minute and then says "error" without giving any indication what the error is.

Did nothing for me   Went into Starbucks with WiFi on as always. Program just sat there and did nothing. Went to search for network and it asked for my phone number. Again, did nothing. Gave up and uninstalled it.

Get over it!   This program works exactly as advertised. It's for iPhones and will never be for iPod touch. Apple will not allow this for the Touch and neither will AT&T.
The service is given to AT&T iPhone subscribers to get free wifi at their hotspots. Touch users do not have an iPhone contract with AT&T so they do not get free access.
I don't even see why touch users are compaining? It's plain and simple.
Just like AT&T house phone subscribers need to stop complaining as well. The programmer cannot give you service to something that is not in their control. Go complain to AT&T if you have a gripe.
I love this as it works perfectly with my iPhone.

No it won't work with the touch   This is a very cool app, that streamlines an otherwise annoying process of getting onto the ATT hotspots. For the person saying it did not work on his touch, no it won't because it requires you have an ATT iPhone number, which ATT then sends an SMS back to with the "key" basically for getting onto the ATT hotspot.

Why isn't this compatible with Ipod Touch???   This would be a killer app for Ipod Touch, which relies soley on WIFI for internet access. I tried to install on my Ipod Touch 2nd gen and got an error message. :(

Handy, but I have a feature request.   This application works as advertised - definitely handy and a whole lot easier to connect to AT&T Hotspots. The price is right too!
I have one feature request for the developer: Can you please add a button/toggle within the application to turn the iPhone's WiFi receiver on/off? This would save users some time as it would avoid the additional step of needing to go into Settings to turn WiFi on or off. That would be super-cool.
Thanks!

Free, fast, easy, and it works!   Just tried it at a Barnes and Noble last night. Works like a charm after just running the application! You just need to connect to the attwifi network, run the app, and go about your ways on Safari! No more typing in a phone number and waiting for a text message!

Simple app that does one thing and does it well   This little app provides a single service — it automatically connects you to free AT&T wi-fi hotspots. Without the app, you have to open your web browser, type in your cell phone number, wait for a text and then go back to a link in your web browser to connect to the wi-fi network. Easy Wi-Fi automates the process for you. I find the app useful because I find myself in different Starbucks locations around the city and this automatically connects my phone for me.
