Clinometer - level and slope finder - Peter Breitling
LIMITED TIME REDUCED PRICE!
This professional tool called Clinometer is the most precise (all you can get with some calculations) slope measurement tool for the iPhone/IPod Touch. It can be used for simple applications like aligning a frame as well as for more sophisticated fields of applications where an arbitrary slope needs to be measured exactly. Read the reviews (and write your own) for all the applications you find! Thank for all your positive feedback! Please use our support link if you have questions and suggestions, we can not read the reviews every day.
With this tool, the slope can be measured by all edges of the device in every direction. When the device is put flat on the table a bubble view will fade in. This current features include:
• Fullscreen Mode: The full screen mode can be toggled by tapping the center of the screen and by the upper and lower arrows in the center. This prevents you from erroneous inputs while measuring and provides a nice demo mode. :-)
• Advanced two way calibration on all sides: For every 4 sides plus the bubble mode you can calibrate in two steps, which allows you to calibrate exactly even on non-level surfaces. Each direction can be calibrated individually to achieve the optimal precision.
• Display of different precisions and units: The device can display the slope in degrees, percentage and rise over run (last to from zero to infinity - for the approximation to 90°) with two precision setups if applicable.
• Dial Rotation: You can smoothly rotate the background dial and thus define which side of the device represents 0° and 90°.
• Different colors: Press the S/C Button to instantly switch the color. The color can be selected differently for the bubble and the clinometer mode. The predefined color sets include day and night color schemes (Black on White, White on Black and Red).
• Motion-sensitive Lock feature: Besides the common instant simple tap hold mechanism you can activate the motion-sensitive lock. If activated the device waits for the final lock until you hold your device steady enough for at least 2 seconds. You can set the tolerance between 0.1 and 1.0 degrees.
• Adjustable Auto-Lock: Prevent the device from turning into the sleep mode.
• Peer Mode: Use two devices to measure angles: One as a display, the other as the measurement device that can be attached to the hardware you want to align.
According to wikipedia: An inclinometer or clinometer is an instrument for measuring angles of slope (or tilt), elevation or inclination of an object with respect to gravity. It is also known as a tilt meter, tilt indicator, slope alert, slope gauge, gradient meter, gradiometer, level gauge, level meter, declinometer, and pitch & roll indicator.
For recreational use only. After the calibration it CAN (!) be very accurate especially for the main axis after calibration. The measurement is performed as well as possible (we try our best) by using the three inbuilt accelerometers.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
We will improve the application long-term. This was the first application of this kind on the iPhone shortly after the opening of the App Store. Since then is is continuously updated and enriched with new features. 2008 Peter Breitling

Very accurate for professional use.   I am a professional satellite installer and I found this app to be very useful and accurate. I used it everyday to install satellite dishes. I would pay $10 in a heart beat. By the way I got rid of my bulky angle finder which I used before on the job to find the elevation. Hitech device on a hitech phone. Wow A++++++ - Clinometer - level and slope finder review by Sat finder
Nice program   I bought both this and Tilt Meter Pro.Tilt Meter Pro requires a level surface for calibration. Clinometerjust needs a surface that's reasonably level. Calibration is a twostep process. You push the calibrate button, then rotate your iPhoneor iTouch 180 degrees and push Calibrate again. Clinometer thencompares the two readings to determine true level. - Clinometer - level and slope finder review by Sweating in Phoenix
Nice app   I've calibrated and used this app a couple of times and it works smoothly, no gliches and is accurate. It would be even more useful if there were a percent slope scale in addition to the degree scale. Percent slope expresses the rise/run as a percentage. For example, a 45 degree angle is 100% slope, since there is 1 foot rise for each 1 foot run. Thanks, keep up the good work. - Clinometer - level and slope finder review by notsiskelorebert
PERFECT!!   This is the best dollar I've spent on the app store. Once calibrated it is surprisingly accurate and a joy to use. I've even used it to sight stars! - Clinometer - level and slope finder review by Aylr
Great app, good price   One of the coolest looking apps I have. Very well done display and perfect use of iPhone capabilities. The newly added bubble level is excellent.Haven't checked the accuracy but I don't need a surveying tool. Well worth the money! - Clinometer - level and slope finder review by FlLights
Very nice app   I just used it on my pool table and re checked it with manual tool. Perfect, it has already paid for itself. - Clinometer - level and slope finder review by Lostcats
Awesome Application   This little application is amazing, and very useful for work I do in aiming cabinets for live sound applications. - Clinometer - level and slope finder review by Magneeto
Best iPhone app I've downloaded yet...   No bugs, crashes or lags - does what it says it will with accuracy. Love the update with the bubble level (probably most useful on 1G or Touch, though since they have flat backs). Gorgeous, clean visuals. A perfect demonstration app and very useful tool for MANY people. Wouldn't it be nice if they were all like Clinometer? Fewer tip calculators and girlfriend dialers, more Clinometer type apps please... - Clinometer - level and slope finder review by TCapple
Nice application.   Initially, the level was off a degree or two, but after I calibrated with a spirit level, it was right on. It will be interesting to see what the repeatability is down the road. I wouldn't use it for serious engineering work, but for 99 cents it is a great tool to have in your pocket! - Clinometer - level and slope finder review by Hamp99
Well done   Great app. Fires up instantly, does exactly what it is supposed to do. Nice graphics too. Been testing it all day, and it is spot on. Thanks! - Clinometer - level and slope finder review by Off Road
Great little app   This app is great and fairly acurate. Will be using as a level and making camber adjustments on my tuned suspension vehicle. - Clinometer - level and slope finder review by Themoe
Great Tool!   Excellent advantage of onboard gyros. Easy to use and calibrate. Great (large) display. Really fine work these folks have accomplished. (I used it to cut my property tax I'm HALF! Bet they never thought of that benefit!) Thanks for bringing this to market. - Clinometer - level and slope finder review by aBigLittleA
Great golf aid...   Really helps with those tuff to read greens. Very nice look too. - Clinometer - level and slope finder review by phaelam
Bust buck I've ever spent.   With the possilble exception of the kiss I got in second grade for my milk money, this little app has the highest quality to cost ratio imaginable. I pray this guy writes many more. He is a true artisan. - Clinometer - level and slope finder review by Admiring
Excellent!   Works as advertised, surprisingly accurate and I like the GUI, great job - price is right on. - Clinometer - level and slope finder review by JeremyDeal
Slope Percentage mode   Handy app for rough field slope checks. Would be nice if updated with a slope percentage mode (rise over run). Some kind of recently measured list would be nice too.
Nice work! - Clinometer - level and slope finder review by CeaJae
Very well done   I am overly impressed with the simplicity, accuracy, and thoughtfulness of Clinometer. This is a very well done app that is useful and very cool at the same time. Well done! - Clinometer - level and slope finder review by sbleasdell
What about the other direction?   I can see this will be useful. But it would be a 5 star if it could be set to read slope for the other axis if desired. That would allow the itouch to lay on its back and not have to be held. - Clinometer - level and slope finder review by Physics Teacher
Amazing Application   This app is great. Although it needed calibration at first, it works perfectly now. You can also lay your iPhone / iPod Touch flat and get a reading that way. Nice app. - Clinometer - level and slope finder review by GeneralOatmeal
Very useful for wood working   The first time I ran the app it crashed very hard (had to reset the phone). After that, no issues. Easy calibration and good accuracy - I'll be using this frequently! - Clinometer - level and slope finder review by pmcenroe
