Be advised this program has an annoying blacklist anti-piracy feature. In other to protect their app from piracy they maintain a blacklist (kill switch) so that they can blacklist any phone using their app in an illegal manner. Today I've been a victim of this approach whereby somebody has obtained by device ID and is using it within their cracked app and BeeJive have added my device ID to their blacklist. So having paid $15.99 for this app I'm now paying the price since I've not been able to use it all day and they require you to send them proof of purchase to remove your device ID from the blacklist. Something that I've sent them already but four hours on and I'm still on the blacklist.Just imagine if every iphone app did this and how inconvenient and annoying it would be to have yourself removed for each vendors blacklist.The app is well implemented from an instant messaging standpoint and does what it claims but after paying this much for an application I don't expect to be inconvenience like this or have the rug pull from underneath me. I wonder how even when I've sent them proof of purchase how they would keep the app still working for me and how they can stop it for the so called hacker since it's still based on my device ID.

Great, but still lacking a bunch of features Considering the price of this app I expected a bit more than I actually got for my money...It's definitely the best IM app for the iPhone and works just fine, but here are just a few things I am missing:- Merged contacts: many people have more than one IM account and having them listed separately makes things confusing. It's a standard on most IM apps and should be in Beejive as well!- Block people / restrict contact: it would be nice to have a privacy setting to only allow people from your contact list to message you and/or block people you don't want to receive IMs from! Again, a standard feature that should have been in here from the start!- Localization: Yet another team of developers who are just too lazy to include international localization!? Sad! :(I probably wouldn't complain about this kind of stuff if it weren't for the price tag of this app! I'll be looking forward to future update and hope to see some of the flaws addressed soon...

A bit pricey, but worth it I was an early tester, and then a happy customer of their IM application for the Blackberry. When I saw a version available for the iPhone, I hesitated maybe a minute or two before hitting the "buy" button. I'm not disappointed. If you have multiple IM accounts to manage across multiple protocols, this is a fantastic application. It's pretty, easy to use and reliable. Best IM app out there!!! Well worth the price of admission As a long time user of beejive's great web app, I had high expectations for their native app and I have to say they certainly met those expectations. The UI is the best of any IM apps out there not to mention some key features such as:1) It will keep you logged into your configured IM services for up to 24 hours even when you don't have the app running2) It will notify you via push email (can be to mobileme or yahoo push email account) when a message is received and the app is not running - the email notification also contains a button that when you click on will take you from the mail app directly into beejive.......cool ehWith the two features listed above (which so far has been working perfectly for me), this is the perfect IM app for me. Unlike palringo, does it allow you to send pictures? No, but that's what I use email for. Does it allow you to send voice messages? No, but that's what the phone is for. Does it handle instant messaging reliably? Yes. To me that's all that matters.Also, the startup time for this app is amazing, buddy lists come up nearly instantaneously, there is no painful "loading" period while the app logs you in and loads buddy lists unlike some of the other IM apps out there. the list of options that you can configure in the settings screen is simply amazing, and shows how much thought the developer put into this app.At $16 it is pricey, however, if you want the best, this is it. I also do hope the developer DOES NOT reduce the price significantly in order to ensure that beejive's servers aren't overwhelmed in the future by the masses who are just looking for cheap applications. Fantastic It blows all the competition away... Not that there was much. I can exit out of the application and still receive chats, because you can set how long you want to stay signed on, it goes up to 24 hours!! Overall, I think the price is justified and is worth it for this application. Finally, IM on the iPhone! Price: I think it's fair. I think people have gotten spoiled by developers that don't expect much money for their time. I guess people forgot about all the $29.99 WM and BlackBerry apps we used to buy that weren't half as nice as some $1.99 apps here. Remember the $50 Windows 3.11 apps that did less than most things an iPhone can do??
App: Finally! An AIM app that is reliable and keeps me connected without having to register for accounts like Palingro, and without signing you off like the official AIM app. The interface is nice. It feels like a solid app, not fragile or quirky like many other apps have been. Lots of nice thoughtful features that separate this from apps that feel like alpha or beta releases.
MobileChat: Naturally everyone compared this to mobilechat. MC has promised a new release that keeps getting rejected by Apple, but compared to the original MC release, it doesn't hold a candle to Beejive!! Even if MC gets their act together, I doubt I will go back to it. This app is too nice. Thankyou to the guys at Beejive! They won the race. And I thought it was pricey! So I've been waiting for this IM app since it's announcement! I remember reading the Boy Genius app about how much it said this was gonna simply leave other chat apps in the dust, and said to myself just can't wait to try it. Well just saw that the Apple Gods approved it and got sticker shocked at the price. Thought to myself what the hell, you get what you pay for in life. Downloaded it and WOW! The best IM client on the iPhone. I've used most of the other IM clients for the iPhone (some of which don't even work) and none of them can touch Beejive. Yes, I was skeptical - first about the price, then about how reliable it was, then about the price again. Finally, I made up my mind and bought it. Simply put, this app is amazing, and you can believe what the other reviewers are saying about it.I was one of those people that dropped my Sidekick for the iPhone and I've been waiting for IM software that works as well as it did on the SK platform. Beejive is as close to that experience as you can get (without Apple allowing push). The interface is beautifully laid out. One of the best features (besides keeping you logged in for a maximum of 24 hours) is: what you type in a chat window shows up in a transparent bubble over the current chat, so that when you're using the iPhone in landscape mode, you get the most out of the screen real estate (aka, no extra half-inch tall bar for type space). Hope that made sense. If not, get the app anyway and see for yourself.I don't use the Push email option because I don't have MobileMe and I don't like Yahoo. Really, though, this doesn't matter. Until Apple releases true push service, I have Beejive wait for 5 minutes of inactivity, then it automatically sets an away message, even if I exit the app. When I load it back up later in the day, all IMs that I missed show up.As far as the price goes, think of it this way - people are saying that the Blackberry version is $30 (ouch), and also you're paying a one-time-fee instead of monthly or yearly fees like most server-based software requires. Overpriced but a great piece of software Legitimately the first usable IM app for the iPhone. Elegant interface, straightforward setup, thoughtful features, flexible protocol/service support. If they bring the price point down to something under ten dollars (I'd recommend something in a six) they'd probably seriously clean up. Well worth it is an understatement With all of the horrible publicity that Mobile Chat gets, I patiently waited for this one. It connects flawlessly, instantly and best of all, can keep you logged on for 24 hours after closing the app and then instantly resyncs all of your missed ims. I also discovered that, due to my iffy wifi, if a message fails to send Beejive will mark it in red as unsent and give you the option to resend. It was worth the wait and well worth the money. WOW, WOW, WOW (except for the over-inflated price)!!! Finally an IM program that does what it is supposed to. Easy to logon, easy to configure you're contacts and so far seems to keep me logged on when I leave the program. Best messaging app BY FAR This app does pretty much everything you could want a mobile messaging app to do. So far, this program works flawlessly. It even has the ability to remain online for up to 24hrs and can notify you of new messages through push e-mail (current work around until Apple releases full push capabilities). Amazing IM Application for iPhone!! This is by far one of the most amazing iPhone Applications i've seen to date. It allows you to finally IM effectively on the iPhone and stay signed in all the time so your friends arent annoyed when you're switching between apps or doing things because you keep signing in or out. The $16 price tag I think is a little bit much, I think this app would've been better suited at $9.99 or so, but it is by far worth it in my opinion if you're constantly connected to the IM world. I migrated from a Blackberry to an iPhone and missed IMing on my phone so much, and this app makes the iPhone ten times more enjoyable for me. Stable, Fast, Push I give this 4 stars because the pricing maybe pretty dang steep for an IM app, and also when going from a chat to the buddy list and back to chat the chat screen goes black, a work around would be to go back to the buddy list then back to chat. Other then that this app does exactly what it says and does it very well, the UI is great, the IM sounds are nice, push mail works flawlessly and quickly when away I've tested it many times with 2 accounts, this app has not crashed on me yet, and I have opened and closed many chats, looked at buddy infos, and opened and closed the app many times, if this app were lower priced and black chat screen issue were fixed I would give this a 5 easily. - BeejiveIM with Push review by IraJames
