Works almost perfect It's great how it tells you about stuff around you. I just moved so I'm learning a lot from this app. It diserves a 5 star. The best thing is that it's free! Get it free while you still have the chance. The only problem is that your iPhone will go to sleep, before the computers done talking, but that can be changed by the company or your settings. I prefer the company.

Great App I learned a lot of things I didn't know about my home town. It will be great to take with me when I travel. Any history buff should get this!
Suggestion: It could use more pictures and different voices to choose from.

Great way to get info I visited L.A. and wanted info on Griffith Observatory shows and exhibits. I searched and found it, played it in the car while I was driving there.

Free and Accurate The absolute simplist of tools that anyone can pick up quickly. If you are looking for background or local points of interests, you found your tool. The ability to punch play and listen while getting to your destination gets a bonus star.

Fairly neat Interesting app. Learned the history of the subway near my house. Will put to test this summer. Keep in mind that if you live in the boonies there might not be anything near you to hear about.

Outstanding New App You may select your CURRENT LOCATION (GPS will locate where you are currently) and from there you may get information on towns around and either read about a given town or press the play button for the audio, which will read the text for you. You may also select a location by typing in the city or town (do NOT include the comma and the state as it will not understand). For example: La Plata (after typing in "La Plata" press search, and "HearPlanet" will search and then list a number of "La Plata" finds (La Plata county, Colorado; La Plata, MO, etc.) This is a nice app and very useful to anyone wanting to learn about the overview, history, geography, demographics, Politics, Community amenities, education, and business (Listed under TOPICS of a given town). I liked the audio option; however, for those that are a bit too long it is a bit faster to read through the text. The picture previews are also helpful -- though no pictures or videos exist within any of the subjects. And that's OK as it would take more memory to load photos and videos! This software was well thought out and offers the reader all the BASIC information on any given city or town. The "Notable past residents" and "Trivia" is an excellent addition to some of the areas and not necessary for ALL towns and cities as it may not apply. (You guys did a great job on my hometown of Huntington Beach, CA)Sorry, I can't think of anything else to ADD to this application. For what this APP is you've done it. Great for Kids - We're Happy in Hawaii We've been using Hear Planet during our Christmas trip to Maui and Kuaia. When we're not on the beach, our daughter has been learning about the history of the island (and keeping busy). Fun, Informative, Unique Hear Planet does on the iPhone what the iPhone does best, audio. The program appears to have an endless abundance of podcast like articles about various places around the world. While the locate me crosshairs are quite cool there is more fun to be had. Great App- Easy to Use and Fun! Super-happy with this application; I really like the detailed content for San Francisco and other areas, and it reads it out loud quite well. I wasn't sure if I'd need this, but figured it might help my parents who aren't too familiar with the area. They loved the app, have used it constantly during their trip to find out new and interesting places to see.
