A complete storyboarding solution   What’s most interesting to me about Hitchcock is how it’s meant to be used. I can’t think of any other iPhone app whose purpose is to get serious work done. Hitchcock is not something you use to jot down a few notes or use to browse incoming information. It’s a workstation, and it requires thought, planning and — most importantly — time to use effectively. That’s not something you see too much of on the iPhone.
I like it.

My New Favoriate App!   Hitchcock is well worth the weeks I've waited for its release. I was
able to learn and use every function within 10 minutes. I had a fully animated storyboard within 15 (including audio recordings of 2 script pages). I've been directing for over a decade, and this is one of the greatest advancements in storyboarding I've seen. Well done!

Incredible Software for the Time Crunched Filmmaker!   Imagine the following scenario:You meet with a corporate client about shooting a commercial of their store. After discussing the highlights of the film, you take reference shots of the store via your iphone and later compile them using a generic solution in your screenwriting software. Sound familiar?Well what would you say if I told you there was now an application that lets you create a full blown storyboard by the time you reach the office?Meet Cinemek’s latest product, “Hitchcock.”So how easy is it?I completed the exact same scenario in the beginning and it only took ten minutes. My team even received a full resolution PDF for review straight from the application. Conclusion:Well in six simple steps you can have a professional looking storyboard created directly on your phone. With the ability to export this and send it to your team, you have an invaluable and quick planning resource. While “Hitchcock” may not have the ability to draw your own frames, it makes up for it in a rich feature set that works well for the time crunched filmmaker who needs the ability to assemble a professional storyboard on the go. For the applications low price of 20 dollars, one will not be disappointed with the time he will save using Cinemek’s “Hitchcock.”Pros:• Ease of use.• Incredible set of useful storyboarding tools. The stand-in feature is awesome!• Ability to watch the finished storyboard playback.• Ability to share with clients via email straight from the application.Cons:• No ability to draw frames unless you import them from another application.• Cannot export the finished slideshow.• Very easy to accidently move a frame in the “storyboard overview.” There needs to be a lock button.• No ability to change items on the PDF export to match your band.

Wow!!!!   Stunningly brilliant. I am in the middle of a shoot right now and will be using this in tomorrows tech scout. I have been stalking the app store for weeks waiting for this app to release. It has lived up to my expectations and exceeded them.
For a version 1 the feature set is amazing. In a ver 2, I would love to save the pdf's directly on my iPhone and be able to email them directly. Also, could we get the ability to export the video?

Must have   If you are serious about filmmaking buy this now. Makes storyboarding quick and painless. What I have found though is watching your storyboard as a movie with Hitchcock let's you see flow so much better than normal static storyboards. Which helps make editing decisions in preproduction not post.

Can't Wait To Put This To Use!   I'm a writer. I'd love a shot at directing at some point, but for now I'm concentrating solely on the writing. That said, I cannot wait to start laying out my scenes on Hitchcock. I'm a very visual person, as one should be when writing for film and I've been searching for other ways to lay out my scenes. I already have a storyboarding program on my Mac, which I love, but I almost feel as if Hitchcock is a better overall solution. Why? Because there's something cool and spontaneous about going to locations; taking some shots; dropping them in Hitchcock; applying the details and watching it unfold right there. I believe it can be an invaluable tool for both creativity and communication and it's already given me a jumpstart on finishing my scenes. I'll report more as I get deeper into the program, but I'm giving it 5 stars for the idea alone. Based on the other reviewers, I'm feeling the same way about this. I love it! I would like to see a few of the other requested features, as well: save to PDF on phone & some of the other things mentioned that I can't think of at the moment. For now, I believe I can export a PDF to my computer, save it as a PDF and store it on my Filemagnet app. That should work. Anyway, thanks for creating this! It's apps like this that make the iPhone worth having. You can quote me on that!

A masterpiece in the making   For a first version, Hitchcock is very close to being a masterpiece. An incredibly useful bit of creative software that turns your iPhone into a production workstation in your pocket, I only wish I had it last month while I was shooting my feature film! We used our iPhones all the time to quickly choose angles and positions and Hitchcock clearly would've made that process go even faster and smoother with its insanely cool visualizations, stand-ins, and notes.Future versions should include a quicktime export option, uploading to your own server, and a few basic drawing tools. Highly recommended!

nice. what I was looking for!   I'm a director/dp...worked on a lot of paid professional projects!
easy to use - I got comfortable with the controls in 10 minutes.
the most basic camera moves are here. enough to get your point across.
it exports quality PDFs.
and if u get bored with no scripts to storyboard. you can make comic strips with your photos with captions and send it to the girl u like and win her over with your storytelling talent. but seriously it's good and I think worth it

A MUST for Filmmakers on the go!   I LOVE THIS APP!First off, if you are balking at the $20 price tag you obviously haven't put too much time into story boarding with any of the computer programs out there. This price is great. And best of all, you can take this on the go. Within minutes of having this downloaded I went and took a few shots of a location I was going to be shooting in later in the week and had a full story board for the whole thing less than an hour later. This is something that every film maker with an iPhone should have. And it's fun... my kids can have a great time just making up little cartoons with it. Yes, it's that easy to use.Only things I'd like to see added at the moment are the ability to add a soundtrack to the whole project... something that could even go over the voice work you can already add (then you could create an entire commercial with music for the client right in front of them!). And I'd love to be able to email the slideshow -- but the fact that everything is on Cinemark's server would likely make things tough for them.Great app that will only get better!

The most fun you can have standing up   Even though I'm actually lying down right now... This app does everything it promises and then some. The only thing that's missing is a distribution deal.
Great job kids.

Amazing App film makers dream   I would pay $50 for it. On thing would make the App perfect. If you could export in flash or QuickTime, something so the motion and sound can be played on a computer for someone.

Totally worth it!   After a few minutes of playing with this app I created a very amazing storyboard. I can't draw so this is perfect. However, I can't 'tilt' the camera and when I tried to export to PDF it would freeze in the middle of it.

Great start! With a few key additions could be perfect!   What a great, simple layout for a pretty functional filmmaking tool. And the developer seems very nice. Emailed me back immediatly in response to a question and it sounds like Quicktime Export is in development!! There are a few things missing that I hope the developer would consider adding to make this app exponentially more useful.
1. Longer audio recording (currently limited to approx 20 seconds per shot, though there are work-arounds)
2. Simple drawing tools integrated into app for sketching on blank canvas or pre-exisiting photo. Anything complex is probably best suited in another app.
3. Group add feature when importing photos from library. As is now, must add 1 at a time.
4. Fade out/in and dissolve animations for transitions when watching animated storyboard. Or fade/ dissolve icons to add to end of shots.
5. Simple matte tools for stand-in figures so you can integrate them into your background. For instance, crop lower half of stand-in body so it looks like he is standing behind a counter.
6. Ability to change color on font to differentiate dialog/action/and sound cues
7. And the often requested- export to QuickTime.
Thanks again for a cool app!!

It's ok but   Lacking ability to export storyboard as a video. If you could export the storyboard as a .mov which moves just like it does when you click watch would make this app worth the money.

Good, needs a little work   I like this program but it would be helpful to allow for the addition of audio and video comments below each board. A little pricey but hopefully it will give the developer some $$ to make it better.
