Welcome to Rev Lite! This is a FREE "lite" version of Rev, the premier iPhone and iPod touch application for auto enthusiasts.

Rev Lite (this application) is our free version, and provides a small subset of the features of Rev: • Acceleration: Displays your cornering, braking and acceleration G-forces. Record the acceleration data on your track run, save it for later, e-mail it to yourself later as Excel-compatible CSV data. • GPS Track: Using the iPhone's GPS, learn about your acceleration and braking on the road and on the circuit. Green and red colors represent moments of forward and braking acceleration. Perfect your cornering habits and master the track. • OBD-II Metric Information: Learn about specific OBD-II vehicle metrics. Each of Rev's OBD vehicle metrics are described in detail, including information about how a vehicle's ECU monitors sensors to optimize vehicle performance. If you have purchased a compatible OBD-II hardware device, Rev Lite will show you whether or not your vehicle supports each metric.

Not much here, yet Well, here we go... First of all, this app has potential. However, 90% of the functionality is NOT enabled because an OBD2-iPod cable is required. To use the remaining 10%, you need to rigidly mount the iPod to your car in a specific orientation, usually vertical, but that can be adjusted. Finally, the resultant G readings only stay on the screen for a few seconds and then disappear - not useful when one tries to reach the limits of their vehicle. Also, be aware that my iPod would not auto sleep when this program was on - a good feature, unless you didn't know that or forget to turn it off. - Rev Lite review by johnny-2008

Awesome idea guysCan't wait for the full version to come out so I can monitor my wrx a little more closely without having to buy a UTEC or AP.Just some ideas to make it that much better:-An adjustable redline / shift lite for RPM mode-ability to read 2 or more features at once even if they are not visual readings i.e. speed, boost, and rpm.-Max figures for everything, I wanna know what the max g on the lateral skidpad is without wrecking trying to read the display. Also the ability to make the readings bigger so they are easier read.Most importantly:When designing the wireless OBD interface, add in an extra port so we can plug in our own aftermarket devices.i.e. adding a spot to read an aftermarket wideband O2 sensor or other miscellaneous inputs. This way i can just buy a wideband, install it and hook up directly to the link and transmit the data without the need for an extra gauge. When completed this could be the most useful app for car enthusiasts the iPhone has ever seen.EDIT: You will need to purchase a wireless OBD-II transmitter which should be available soon, The other link that someone posted looks to be the same piece of hardware. The bluetooth adapter sells for 199 Euros or pounds, i don't know what symbol is what, so if that is any indication, then we are looking to spend that much on this device if not more. Serious Potential So far I like what I see. This app has some serious potential. Something I'd like to see though is actual recording of data when you have a specific section open. Or even better, have an option to be recording them all - if possible - at the same time for a given run, and view them in a log later. I was trying out the lite features this morning and took a drive with the GPS track on, then stopped and realized I couldn't view the majority of my drive. Logs of some sort would go a long way. Otherwise things are on the right track - I look forward to more info on the device this will work with, nothing like dead on information right from the car.This may already be planned, but things like 0 - 60 timing and quarter mile times @ speed would be sweet. Dynolicious has stuff like this, but being based on the accellerometer it's not the most exact thing. What I really want a program like this for is my motorcycle; am I going to be able to hook something up to it all the same? - Rev Lite review by sclyde
Men I still think dynolicious is better. Let's see what hardware they come out with. It has potential but currently fails to deliver all that it can and might do. If it can hook into the OBD port and doall that it is supposed to do then it might be a winner. - Rev Lite review by Netko
Not that great Not too sure what is wrong with most people. This app doesn't really do much other than talk about another app in the making. Once that one comes out, I would get it and give it 5 stars cause it would be a great thing and handy for work, considering what some of the diagnostic machines run! Potential I know everyone is saying this app+hardware has potential - you know what? It's true. The amount of potential for this app is astronomical.
While every car is different, imagine one day being able to perform a basic diagnosis if your check-engine light came on. Honda dealerships charge $99 just to tell you what's wrong. On the App Store/iPhone platform, the software can be updated indefinitely to add changes.

Great idea What is wrong with most of you people? This is not tuning software. This is not a program designed to help you make your car faster. It's not even the full working version. This software is designed to allow you to read global OBD II data (including all standard DTC's). It's a basic scan tool and code reader. There is no need for "personality keys" when reading global OBD II. This is mainly targeted towards helping you properly diagnose a problem on your OBD II equipped vehicle. Reviewing THIS App This App shouldn't have 4.5 stars (current) it's OK in that it shows the G-forces of your car or the GPS track, but niether of them record it, and im not going to be watching it while i take a corner. Can't wait for the full version Why are you people comparing this to software that you find in a laptop, and giving it a bad review? This app looks like it is going to be awesome, so stop giving it 1 star and complaining that this is useless, it is a demo version of the full program. Even this demo has a cool feature, reading g-force with the accelerometers. Also the full version seems like a promising tool for cars that don't have the ability to be tuned/programmed from 3rd party vendors.
