GPush - Tiverias Apps
GPush has delivered over 15 million Gmail notifications.
New submitted features include: - launch Gmail from notification - new sound choices - clear badge counter - support for symbols in password - app now supports google voice notifications
GPush is the missing link between GMail and the iPhone. For the first time, receive instant Gmail message notifications on the iPhone. For Best results, place the GPush app icon above your mail icon - this will allow you to quickly open your mail app if new messages come in through GPush.
BlackBerry became very popular, in part because it offers remote users "instant" e-mail; new e-mails appear on the device as soon as they arrive, without the need for any user intervention, in what is referred to as “push email.” For the first time, using GPush, iPhone users will be able to receive their GMail new message notification instantly and no longer have to wait up to an hour to be notified of new email. Push email has the added value of reducing battery consumption considerably. GPush even lets the iPhone user choose how to be notified of new email. Your options include having the phone vibrate, ring, display the email message on the standby screen just like an SMS , or simply have the GPush icon show how many new messages are unread.
Features: * Instantly receive Gmail new message notifications on the iPhone * Set it and Forget it: All you have to do is download the app and decide how you want to be notified of new email. You never have to open the app again after that. * Improved battery life: GPush uses less battery since it relies on push notifications rather than data fetching ("pulling") * Ability to see emails on the standby screen just like text messages * SSL Security Certificate used to ensure password security for GPush users 2009 Tiverias Apps LLC

Not happy it's now linked to SLOW Gmail web app   After a rocky start, Gpush has been working pretty reliably for me. I'm not thrilled though that with the new version if I unlock my screen immediately after receiving a push notification it kicks me out of whatever program I was in and opens Gpush, which means staring at a mostly blank screen for 10-20 seconds while Google's incredibly slow web app struggles to display my inbox. Fortunately this only happens if you unlock your screen right after the push message arrives. It's still annoying though, and I wish there was a way to torn this "feature" off. (Also, the custom sounds aren't working for me.)

Better before!   1 star now, 5 before. Why? Getting a notification opens the app, which I don't want. I don't ever want to open the app, just like it was advertised--I jut want an alert that tells me to open mail. Give users the option of staying just like it was. Hate this extra step. When I unlock my phone, I want my home screen, not some 3rd party apps attempt to browse to gmail's mobile page.

Doesn't work   Doesn't work! Worked for first 10 minutes but now it tells me there is a communication error and "push" may not work. Hopefully they get the bugs worked out.

Doesn't work...yet   Haven't gotten it to work once, despite two emails from tech support. A poorly handled roll-out of an app...

Flat out does not work.   I was very excited to find this applicaiton released in the App Store. So I spent the $1 and installed it...and it does not work. Since the initial installation, I have verified that all Push and Notification settings are correct, I have uninstalled / reinstalled, I have booted the device multiple times...it just does not work. The idea of this application is great but until the application acutally works, I cannot recommend purchasing it.Note: This is my first review for an App. I am not trying to create a lack of business for the company but having a product for sale that 100% does not work, is not very businnes oriented or user friendly. Tiverias Apps, please let us know when you get an application that will actually function.

Is it fixed?   The app seems to be working now. If it continues it's one of the best things ever. What a charlie foxtrot on roll-out day.

Finally working - and working great!   I downloaded this yesterday as soon as I got the email stating that it was finally in the app store. I didn't have any problems installing or with my credentials. My first test email worked - and then nothing. It seems like the issues have been resolved now though as I've been receiving notifications all afternoon. Exactly what I was waiting for! And definitely worth the $0.99! Thanks!

Piece of crap   Doesn't work - thought there was some kind of quality control in place to prevent rip off apps like thus from being uploaded?

horrible. does not work.   Do not believe the reviews that promote this app - they were written by the developers themselves. this app does NOT work - despite re-booting, re-logging, re-starting - you name it. Got canned response from the support staff. Waste of a dollar.

Works great! Also figured out a work around for multiple gmail and non-gmail accounts.   Very happy with gpush. I no longer have to unlock my phone and manually check my mail, which can be quite time-consuming for a serial email checker! Also, I have both a gmail account and a non-gmail account that I wanted push notifications for, so I created a new gmail account where I auto-foward all of my mail from my other accounts. This way, I get push notifications for both emails, and they don't have to necessarily be with gmail. I'm very happy with this application.

Does not work!!!!   The app is working intermittently with my gmail account. When I first downloaded it I was having issues with getting notified. I followed the trouble shooting tips posted on the company's website and after several attempts at getting it to work it did for awhile. Now I am back to not getting any notifications. Very frustrating and the only good part of this is that the app was only .99 so I feel cheated but it could be worse.

It really works, and fast!   Now the iPhone has really arrived. This thing works well and fast. In fact, after three or four tests, I've found that my iPhone notifies me of gmail before gmail on my laptop does. And even before "gmail notifier" in my system tray does. I mean this thing is really terrific. I know they stumbled at the beginning, but they (Tiverias) are there now. This is a must-have app.
