“If Things sounds simple, that's because it is. Other to-do list managers I've tried have, quite honestly, gotten in the way of me getting things done. Things doesn't do that. And I wouldn't have it any other way.” -- Macworld.com, ★★★★

Great Start!   So, I am a recent convert from OmniFocus and trying to make Things as my standard GTD (it has been an interesting road). My biggest feature of Things that I like is the "Today" screen. I have tried and tried and tried to get OmniGroup to add something similar to OF, to date no luck so I said Things it is.I think the current version of Things for iPhone is a great start, but it needs some more work before it is really useful tool. Some of the biggest features I would like to see in the iPhone version is the ability to order the Today view (similar to what you can do on the desktop version).Another item that is "missing" on the iPhone version is the use and connection of "People" which are basically ignored when sync to iPhone and there is no where to see these resources. Additional, it would be nice to have a panel on the main screen to manage the "Tags" (the only way to do this is by assigning a tag to a task item and then managing Tags)With regards to Culture Code as a company, I cant say they are worthy of the applications 4 stars as I have NEVER received ANY replies to messages to sales, support, etc. I have sent some 8 or so messages in the last 2 weeks and not a SINGLE item has been replied to (just the auto reply). As a software developer, I know how important customer response is and Culture Code is FAILING in this regard. In conclusion, I think the iPhone version is a great start and I think the clean simple interface makes it very easy to use, but to really maximize the features (and truly justify the $9.99 price) so more configuration features need to be added. I am at the point where I will give it another month or so of use and if the application features dont improve, I am most likely returning to OmniFocus. If you need a good consistent GTD with desktop support, I believe Things is a great tool. If you are a power user who needs more features and customization and control, then I say you should go with Omni Focus. If I had to put my $$ on a company that would continue to update and improve, I would lean to Omni as they have a track record of producing quality software and seem to have more resources available to completing user requests, etc.

Support and Commitment to Customers... Lacking   Too many buyers were caught with no follow through on the final discount for the desktop version. Many people missed the notification and when informed, the developer did not support. Questions asked to the developer and never any responses. Recommend using OmniFocus... I think overall you will be happier.

Beautiful & Lacking   Strengths:
- beautiful and functional GUI design
- pleasure to use
- *today* view
- *some day* view
- has a desktop counterpart (Mac)
- will do for 90% of people who don't need a pro grade GTD
Weaknesses:
- may be overly simplistic for serious GTD
- no sub-tasking
- no sequential processes
- lack of syncing options (wifi only; no MobileMe option)
Overall:
A beautiful app that may have sacrificed some necessary features to be simple enough for the masses. It may have become overly simplistic in the process. It does well for many who don't need the complexity and pro features of OmniFocus and yet want something more than a simple to-do list. This app can easily be a five star app with a few more features added.

Good app, lousy customer service   OK! I must be missing something. This app costs around $60 once the desktop is bought. It can't be used on PC. You must have the app open both on iPhone and your Mac. You must have a Wi-Fi running in order to sync. The UI us not customizable. It does not offer half the features of Toodledo or Remember the Milk.
WHAT IN THE WORLD DO YOU SEE IN THIS APP?
I am being absolutely frank. I want to know since I bought both apps and want to know.
I do not understand why some people love this app. Obviously I bought it or I could not post here.

Good Middle-weight Task app   To be fair, Things is better suited for most when compared to OmniFocus because it is more limited hence more simple to use, understand and implement - which is why Things is being compared to other simple todo apps, and OmniFocus is not. I've used OmniFocus since it's inception and decided to put Things through it's paces to really see how it does under heavy use - and how it works in a GTD workflow. The thing that is overlooked in these app reviews is that some people need heavy-weight apps and some do not. Things is a good app if a standard todo list isn't quite enough, and a robust app like OmniFocus seems like too much - it's a good middle-weight app. It's sync is great - better than Omni IMO, although unlike Omni, sync is limited to one machine. The tags/areas idea on the desktop will be nice to have on the iPhone, however the tags/areas system overall isn't as powerful as the contexts system Omni has designed. Unlike Omni, Things is really just a set of pre-labeled folders so it really buckles under heavy workload. The scheduled folder should automatically display tasks with due dates (smart folder) similar to the list view in iCal for iPhone. They took the starring idea from google for a quick today list which is handy. On the iPhone, the Next folder is about useless if you have a lot of projects - way too much scrolling to find something specific. The user interface is a little confusing in some screens, as the button purpose is unclear and the use of the menu bar isn't logical. Getting back to the home screen is a pain if your levels in - needs a one touch to home. It's not GTD friendly on the iPhone...it's just a todo manager that allows folders. Furthermore, Things on the iPhone is just a stripped down version of the desktop app - nothing about it takes advantage of being mobile, as does Omni with the powerful location aware capabilities that Omni has designed, which really help to be efficient away from the office. At the end of the day, both the desktop and iPhone versions of Things worked well to a point, but really buckled when I put a lot of information into them. It's not fit to run anything complex or task intensive. I own a company, have employees, oversee dozens upon dozens of projects at once, am a parent, and have a tremendously busy lifestyle. For my life, OmniFocus is very customizable and robust, and once setup is a very fast, efficient, and effective personal management tool. It only seems complex if you don't need the power. It's professional grade software, and that's what you pay for. Things is less complex, less powerful, less customizable, and lacks some features next to Omni, but it's also less expensive. It's apples to oranges in many regards. If your days are manageable, Things will help take a load off. If your days border on unrealistic, take the time to really get into and learn OmniFocus, as Things really can't shoulder the load that GTD was designed to manage. - Things review by Androse
Best way to GTD   The desktop version has done an amazing job of getting me organized. Sync to the desktop is coming so I don't see it as a real issue since the app alone is great. - Things review by hexorx
First app I bought -- beautiful UI, can't wait for syncing   The UI looks fabulous.. Congratulations. Looking forward to seeing the entire feature set. Sync is going to be awesome. Can't wait as my productivity will shoot through the roof. - Things review by darlab
Things rocks, but needs sync.   I've been eagerly awaiting Things on the iPhone since I've been using it on the desktop for quite a while. I actually purchased both Things and OmniFocus on the desktop, and decided I prefer the Things interface and simplicity.Things on the iPhone does desperately need the ability to sync with the desktop version, but I understand the guys at Cultured Code are going to get this in place as soon as they can. I also look forward to tagging being available.I highly recommend buying this app at the introductory price, particularly if you're already a Things desktop user. Once they can talk to each other, it will be brilliant. - Things review by NoahDaniels
The Best GTD App out there   The clean graphical and intuitive user interface makes this the best task management app available. The desktop app is wonderful as well. A must have for any serious PMS user. - Things review by danislinus
Great App much more intuitive than omnifocus in my option   Syncing is need badly but still pretty impressive app ready on Day 1. Also the developers just sent this in: " Here is the deal. As long as major features are missing, we will offer Things for the iPhone for US$ 9.99, which is 50% of what was initially planned. Missing features like syncing with the desktop version will be provided as free updates.Once more and more features are added, we will gradually adapt the price to its final target between $15 and $25.25000 developers applied for the App Store. 4000+ were accepted. At its launch 500 applications were available. But Things already made it into the Top 25 category! " I would suggest buying it now. - Things review by knck
A little patience   Peopla, a little patience, if you would go over to the Culture code site you would see the synching will be out VERY soon they guys were under a lot of pressure to get this out by the current users, becuase this is such a rock solid app, and the iphone version will be too, just give it a few days..... - Things review by dryver8
Things is *the* GTD app for OS X!   This is a wonderful addition to the Things GTD application. I've also tried several other applications before settling on Things, and it really does it right. This portable version is just as well thought out; I'm excited about having this for the iPhone now as well. - Things review by rrbaker
Questioning purchasing Things vs Omni?   Do a little research first. Visit both sites and watch the "getting started"video, as each have one.
Omni is awesome. No one can really dispute that. But here's the deal; Things is setup to be somewhat of a clone (which isn't a bad thing at all) of Omni. However, 5 things make this app, Things, a better purchase for the iPhone, atleast right now.
1) Things is cheaper price tag for iPhone (limited time)*
2) Things desktop version (alpha) is free until this spring and has a discounted price once available for sale if you sign up for the newsletter.
3) Things is more intuitive to newcomers
4) Things is more asthetically appealing and functions just as well
5) Brain Dumping to the inbox is available for this app's iPhone version (not available on Omni's iPhone version)
6) Things hates Hillary Clinton :P
* PLEASE NOTE: Currently, syncing between desktop & iPhone isn't available hence the cheaper price. It's been mentioned that the price of the iPhone version will become equal to Omni's iPhone app, once implemented.
I guess I see it as an opportunity to save half for now and receive a nice feature for free once finished.
Hope this review helps those in limbo. :) - Things review by Bbabics
This is how it's done!!!   This was the best desktop task organizer, and now with syncing it's a GREAT iPhone app. And the syncing puts other programmers to shame - I've got several that don't sync as easily and reliably as this. Fantastic program, perfectly executed. I'm so excited that I can't wait to license the desktop version (which, though still a beta, is more flexible and solid than most second generation programs). - Things review by kennethben
READ and understand   For everyone reading this....This is easily going to be the best productivity tool for the iPhone bar none. In it's current state, it is already head and shoulders above the numerous "To-Do" apps in the App store right now (some of which are going for twice the price). The UI of "Things" is also head and shoulders above the rest. The developer has already stated that the ability to sync with your computer is coming very shortly, to include many other improvements. I have been using the alpha version of their desktop program since it came out, and it is an outstanding program. The developers are also very friendly people who listen to their customers.Just so you are all aware....their desktop program SYNCHs with iCAL! What that means is you have seamless integration with your MAC and supporting applications. When the update comes for the iPhone version and allows it to sync up with your computer, it is going to be a very very powerful tool. "Things"(desktop) / iCAL / "Things" (iPhone). My advice would be to snatch this up while the introductory price is still being offered because it is easily going to sell at a much higher price. So listen to my advice if you are searching for the best productivity tool for your phone, because once you realize what you missed you will be paying out of pocket for it....and no I am not associated with these guys at all. I just purchased two copies...one for me, and one for my wife's phone. Looking forward to the next update guys....I know you will not disappoint. - Things review by Bear_Hunter
This is great!   I'm so excited about this new application! My only question is if it will sync w/ the desktop version of Things, does anyone have an answer? - Things review by lectersmeal
Beautiful, but why not fit it to the screen?   I just opened Things and it looks like it has a lot of the functionality of the desktop version and is very nice. However, I was surprised that, given the developer's normal attention to detail, that the main screen doesn't fit on the iPhone screen and needs to be scrolled several pixels. Why? Hopefully that will be fixed by squeezing the text together a bit or reducing the giant Lists bar at the top. Also, it would be nice to have a Home button at the bottom to jump back all the way to main screen with one tap. - Things review by Salll
Nice App for what is does   I have bought and installed both "Things" and "OmniFocus" and I am writing a review of both. Things works great, looks, great, easy to use and sort through. I later bought OmniFocus because I needed the "contexts" feature to sort by location and Things did not offer this. I guess my life needed less simplicity and more features to meet my needs. That said, OmniFocus would freeze up and freeze up alot! Not sure which one I will ultimately end up using. I need the feature richness of OmniFocus, and if Things can add these in a later version that would be super. Right now Things seems to be the more stable application. - Things review by JR2000
Nearly perfect   I have been using the desktop version for a while and I absolutely love it. This version is missing some key features, but not things that I use a lot. The core functionality is there however, and exactly as you would expect. Looking forward to sync for sure but as it stands now this is a great app and well worth the ten bucks! - Things review by luminousnerd
Is it worth 10 Bucks? Absolutely!   I'm generally cheap when it comes to buying iPod Touch/iPhone apps, but I'm so glad I found things. It's easily the greatest app I've ever used! Everything is simple, easy to use, and it works flawlessly with Things for Mac.The wireless syncing is good, but doesn't work well on large networks (like a college network, for instance). Personal users at home won't have this problem, though, and the syncing is easily one of the greatest things about this app. Unlike many of its free app brethren, it doesn't need to connect to some website or pay service, and it works flawlessly with a local connection to your computer. If there's no WiFi handy, it even works with Internet Sharing on your Mac!Awesome... well worth the (relatively) big price tag. - Things review by gonevertigo
