Night Camera - Sudobility
Now with 4x digital zoom and 27 different aspect ratios!
Night Camera uses the accelerometer to ensure the steadiness of the camera before the shutter fires, it creates clearer photos at night and under low light conditions.
iPhone has a decent camera for a cell phone. However, due to the space constraint, it has a slow lens, meaning the shutter time is relatively long. At night and under low light conditions, a slight hand movement can cause the photo to be blurry.
By using the accelerometer sensor, Night Camera only fires the shutter when it detects the iPhone is steady, thus greatly improving the sharpness of your photos.
**** Night Camera offers three modes for your convenience: - Standard: Same as standard camera - Stable: Accelerometer fires the shutter only when the iPhone is steady, with adjustable sensitivity. - Timer: Shutter fires after a timed delay.
**** In-app photo browser with delete: - Night Camera allows you to browse your camera roll within the app, with the ability to view and delete photos.
****Geotagging - Night Camera allows you to use GPS information to tag the photo with EXIF.
****4x digital zoom - Single finger operation. Swipe to zoom.
**** You have four color options - Color - B/W Grayscale - Sepia - Hard Light (a dramatic effect best for well lit outdoor photos)
**** many other options - Fullscreen shutter in all modes, so you don't have to look for the tiny camera button. - Resolution (full 1600x1200 vs quick 640x480). - Time stamp overlay. - 3x3 grid to help you with the composition. - Auto save (no confirmation needed) vs Preview before saving. - More.

A very good app   This app is brilliant. You can now really use the camera under low light conditions. And another useful feature: asking someone else to take my picture. Every person that I know in this world has got shaky hands. And my picture always turn out to be blurry. With this app I can be sure that anyone that takes my picture will take it without anymore blurriness!!!

Works well, but needs EXIF data.   The only thing preventing me from using Night Camera as my primary app is the lack of EXIF data saved with the photos, especially GPS. This is an ever-so-important feature now that iPhoto has geotagging built-in.

Solid v1.0 app can be 5 Stars with some minor tweaks   First, I was pleasantly surprised based on some of these reviews with the quick responses from the Author. I initially had problems getting the pictures to save into cameral roll and, at his suggestion, simply power cycled the phone and it now appears to work as designed. For those who have stated that Night Camera continues taking pictures after you have taken the first one, that appears to be by design as well. If you want to stop taking pictures, just hit cancel. I have suggested that this be an optional setting that has Night Camera prompt the user whether they want to take more pictures or not.The author responded to my suggestions and indicated that more features would be forthcoming.Hopefully soon :-) - Night Camera review by T.Jefferson
Ignore previous reviews - this app is good   Ignore the previous reviews. The pictures show up in the camera roll. I had no problem finding the pictures. The app is slow to save each picture - that criticism is accurate. The improvement in quality of the pictures, though, makes up for this problem. I can take one good picture with Night Camera instead of the 5 or 6 pictures that I had to take with the regular camera to ensure that one was decent. - Night Camera review by W Austin
Update fixed problem   I am now satisfied with the performance of this app so I now rate it 5 stars. Thanks for the quick turnaround with the update.

I see the potential of this app. One problem is it just shoots on it's own. Fix that and will boost the star power in new evalution. - Night Camera review by woodysg1
Not Ready for Prime Time   I never know if Night Camera is going to save a photo until after I shoot and save. If it is not in my camera roll, I have to power down, then up, then take a photo. Meanwhile Bigfoot has gone back into the woods. I prefer the dependable blurred photos to nothing. I do not buy the developer's posted excuse. The memory problem does not happen with the iPhone camera software. I deleted Naught Camera from my iPhone until it is finished. - Night Camera review by cmsGA
Mickey Mouse Company   I agree with ALL the issues in the previous reviews (ie: snaps too fast, can't frame photo etc...), but would be able to live with this app if ONLY I KNEW WHERE THE PHOTOS WENT!!! They are NOT in the camera roll (or anywhere else that I can tell). But the WORST part of it all is that I attempted to contact the company that created it- to get some support on that issue-in the only way that they show on their website- through email- and the email came back as "The email account that you tried to reach does not exist".... Now I KNOW they are a mickey mouse company and would truely like my $$ back!! - Night Camera review by allrs
A really handy application   This is a really great ap, especially at this price. I've always had probems with low-light shots, because the process of pushing the button resulted in shaky pictures (yeah, I'm kind of clumsy).
Another handy use is self-portraits. It was always a bit awkward trying to take my own picture and trying to push the shutter button. With this so, you just point the lens at yourself and keep the camera moving slightly until you are ready for a pic. When you get settled with a pose, just hold the camera still and voilĂ .... it snaps your self portrait. Maybe the guy who made this can make an ap that makes me look better. I'd pay $4.99 for that! In the meantime, this in one great ap for .99. - Night Camera review by Paul-C-1144
NOT GOOD.......   It doesn't even run on my iPhone. I open the app and all i get is black screen. If refunds were available I would definately take mine. If there's anyway to fix this please let me know otherwise theres a dollar in the trash. Thanks. - Night Camera review by OIE2008
Ummm   Well, it works pretty much as advertised. Except I don't know where it saves the picture to. It ain't in Camera Roll, or anywhere else that I can see. - Night Camera review by orionwatcher
This is great   Once an app has been updated, I think the reviews should start from scratch. Most of the common complaints have been fixed in this latest version. The developer has obviously been paying attention to the users. - Night Camera review by Just Some Human
can't find the pics!?   Says the photo is being saved, but I have no clue as to where.... - Night Camera review by picturetaker
Well worth $.99!!   Great app. The best ideas are always the simplest. It is a wonder that Apple didn't include this from day one. I have never had the saving issue that others have had here so perhaps I am just lucky. My only problem is that the controls seem a little odd. This program snaps a picture right away when launched instead of waiting for you to take a picture. In fact, if you tap 'take picture' it takes the picture blurry or not. Once I got used to that I captured some great images. - Night Camera review by joeljeppson
Please add Multi-Shot   I've been missing an app like this ever since 1Shoot stopped working on 2.0 JB'd iphones. Theres only one request I have, and thats to allow multiple shots to be taken with a simple toggle. I like to capture multiple shots and then pic the best of the bunch later on in the camera roll, works well when trying to get a picture of your dog for example. Please consider this addition :) - Night Camera review by x999x
Works great.   Works as advertised. If you're getting crashes or photos not saving, just restart your phone. - Night Camera review by Frank Sandoval
Could be great   The iPhone camera blows. This app gives you a better chance at capturing a good photograph. I would glady give it 5 stars if I could locate all of my photos. Until then I will continue to use it, but with caution. This app is worth the money. Hopefully updates will follow. Thanks - Night Camera review by DJon
Night and DAY Camera--Excellent App!!!   The reason this app is called a night app is not that somehow it is going to magically make night pictures brighter. It is not an infrared camera. The less light there is, the more steady the camera has to be. I find this to be the major flaw with the iphone camera. In order to take a picture you have to press the button on the screen which can shake the camera a little. Hence, when trying to take night shots, one will get blurred pictures. This app has a work around for this problem. The user does not have to press any buttons to take a photo. This is how it works: You want to take a picture, so you launch the app. The countdown times starts. However, it will not take a picture until after it senses that the camera is steady. So if it countdowns to zero and you are still trying to frame the picture or your hand is shaking, it will not take a picture until the app senses that the iPhone is not moving. After the photo is taken you press either the save or delete icon. Another thing that I like about this app is that when you want to take a picture, it does not ask you if it want it to "use your current location." - Night Camera review by Don's Review
It really works!   This app is a terrific idea---it opens up a whole range of new shooting opportunities for the iPhone camera. Museums, night shots, they'll all come out crisper than you could ever manage with your own hands and the Camera app.The only problem is that it's fully automatic, as others have said. If the app is running, it's either trying to take a picture or showing you the picture it just took. It would be much better if it just allowed you to frame the shot, then had a shutter button that meant "as soon as the image is stable, take the picture". Otherwise you have to wave the camera around until you're ready for the picture to take. For best results, I find it's best to let the camera take a picture, then use the "Retake" button on the preview display as the shutter button. Under this regime, it still works best if you hold the camera as still as possible: the only difference is that you don't have to have the stillness of a ninja or the luck of a lotto winner to keep the image steady anymore. - Night Camera review by stepleton
