Wow, HUGE disappointment!   I was really looking forward to this app. I've always wanted to implement something similar to this... a way of earning achievements for life. I was super excited when I saw that a bunch of ex-Blizzard guys, funded by a large VC firm like KP, would produce something amazing. Boy was I wrong. The implementation of achievements is terrible. A life achievement, or "booyah moment" as they call it, SHOULD be something like: "Ran 2 miles today" or "Cooked a new dish today". Instead, they measure achievements by posts and comments. Make a post in a category, get an achievement. X people reply to your post in Y days, get an achievement. This is how ALL the achievements work. For example, take a look at the second screenshot above. It says "Rachel earned a Passion Flower" achievement. That SOUNDS like something really cool... like, maybe Rachel planted 10 flowers or something. Nope, you know how that achievement is earned?: "Earn by receiving 1 Comment within 2 Days for a Passions & Causes Post". ALL achievements are earned this way. Here's another achievement: "Dean of Delts". Do you earn this by doing some sort of shoulder exercises? NOPE! You earn this achievement by "Earn by receiving 3 Comments within 3 Days for a Fitness Post". I wish I could say this app was a great start, but it really isn't. The way achievements are setup now are completely useless. If anything, they should just call this a glorified Twitter/Facebook client with a 3D avatar, because that's really all it is.

Makes living life that much more fun   Booyah Society is a fantastic app in that it feels like you're playing a game when you're really not. There's no game that's more worth winning than life, and that's the message that this app gets across really well. Overall, the app is very polished, and the developers clearly thought out every small detail. It's an app with tons of replay value; you'll be coming back again and again.

Interesting and fun   Really neat app. It lets you categorize your Facebook and Twitter posts, and you get achievements for making different types of posts. It inspired me to change what I write about.

Real life was never so fun!   It has so many elements, life tracking being the most interesting and original here. Using it more than once makes it a part of your daily routine. And i love my little alien dude!

Great new concept! My favourite app of the moment!   This app is a lot of fun and has become instantly my favourite of the moment! It lets you share your life achievements and moments with your friends on Facebook and Twitter and in turn rewards you for it with various achievements/ badges.I love the 3D avatar too!

Cute toy but...   ... It's a crude first effort. The robot avatar is generic and has nothing to do with personalization. The achievments are too generalized. Relying on facebook for friends list instantly turns off a large number of potential users. The idea is grand but someone else will shortly make a far more serious version of the concept.

makes it more fun to post to Facebook and Twitter   Yesterday - 6 posts to Twitter (they also go to my Facebook) and nothing to show for it. Today - 6 posts to Booyah - still goes to my Twitter and Facebook - but I've unlocked 6 achievements and upgrades in their cool app.

Pointless advertising scheme   I played with it about 2 minutes, just long enough to realize it's just a flashy way to drive traffic to specific websties. The developer did a great job with the graphics and interface, but in the end it's just a set of advertisements posing as a game.

Fake user reviews + so-so app = 1 star   And the big "BOOYAH!" goes to... the developers' friends & family! How many Achievements were they awarded for "Fake Review Writing"?
I *might* have given this app another star or two, otherwise. The idea seems original but it's a fruitless experience due to the lame character design, the weird over-reliance on Facebook/Twitter (presumably in hopes of creating user-generated viral marketing), etc.
Nice business plan, Devs. Mediocre app.

Great for active people, a must for travellers.   Road trip through Oregon. I'm in the passenger seat playing with my iPhone. I open Booyah and spin my avatar just to hear him say "yippie!" and "whoa whoa whoa whoa." * Up pops info on a winery near by. Also live music in the next town. Wow! Links directly to the website to get more information. And I thought I was in the middle of nowhere.Back home it's Saturday and we keep saying "what do you want to do... no, what do you want to do?" because no one knows of anything good to do. Open Booyah and get some ideas: art gallery, a hike, a new restaurant, a play. Post your activity and see it pop up on the world map. You can see all the Booyah posts there. Love this app!* You need to turn on the sound effects. Go to iPhone settings and scroll down till you see the Booyah Society Icon. Hit the icon, and "Enable Sound Effects".

Great concept, but...   Having an achievement system for real life is a crazy awesome idea. However, it seems like 2/3 of the achievements require other people to comment on your posts or at least care. Nobody is going to write three comments about how I did the dishes or ran a mile.
