Um, why do I need a Palringo account? So to use this program, you need a Palringo account...of course you do. Like all these apps, you need a special login for God knows what reason, before you can start using the real program. Well despite the fact that I'm not too keen on *another* company know my password...the stupid website is down to register. Thanks guys. Epic fail.

I actually read the privacy policy! People-- I read the policy, and they DO NOT sell your information to third parties, and I quote from their "Privacy Policy" webpage:"The information we collect is held securely and will not be supplied to third parties."Also, they state later in the page, for those of you who will never go to the page yourselves:"SecurityWe take many precautions to keep your personal information secure from unauthorized access, such as encrypted storage of personal information on our servers and internal corporate policies to limit access to systems that store your personal information. Great start but very buggy. The app, when functioning poperly, works great. However, there are two glaring bugs I've found. Sometimes the keyboard won't come up so you can send or reply to a message. Also it does not run in the background as advertised. I received a call when using it and it popped up then immediately went away. I don't know if that was a fluke since the person calling didn't have much service buy I'll be looking out for recurrences in the future. More support including emoticons and service-specific options would be nice but if the two glaring bugs can be remedied this program will be one of my most used easily.

horrible. if you have been waiting for a multi-chat client, wait a little longer. one of the worst, most frustrating user experiences i have encountered recently. a total waste of time to set up. and as of right now, impossible to cancel the palringo account required to even try the application.

Give them a break! Even iTunes has problems when a new iPhone is released, let alone a small software developer. Everyone has been jonesing for IM, so it's natural that they would get swamped. Give them a chance before writing negative reviews. I'm just sayin :-)

Not too shaby I had mine up and running on the first try took maybe a minute to register. To add your different services hit the P at the top of the screen beside the little person, then hit edit, and a plus sign will appear at the top right hand corner, hit that and you're on your way. I've only ran into one problem and that was when I tried sending a picture and while it was saving the pic I took it crashed and took me back to the home page. I don't see where the voice part of the application is though...anyone know how to send voice like the description says? And also it says it runs in the background as long as you dont open another app?? Not sure if that's actually true or not.

Great app! Finally, a messenger client for the iPhone that supports multiple messenger services including YM, AIM, and MSN! Now I can keep in contact with all my friends who use different services. The interface is great too! I love the feature to send picture messages. Before you can sign in to your IM accounts, you first have to create an Palringo account which to me was a little tedious because their site was very slow but I'm sure this problem will straighten out. There also isn't any support for groups, meaning if you have a ton of contacts, things can get a little confusing. My biggest gripe about this app is that it does NOT run in the background. If you exit to the main menu, you are also closing the application, unlike AOL messenger for the iPhone. Other than that, this app is great. Best of all, its free! I highly recommend this app for those who need messaging while on the go.

Great first attempt An excellent first attempt at a multiple platform IM system. Yes, there are some things that could stand improvement, both visually and functionally, but the same can be said about any other IM client, including AIM. For a free project especially, this is an excellent offering. It's pretty easy to use, and hopefully later will support running in the background.

High hopes, completely disappointed If you're gonna put on an app, how hard it is to make sure people can actually sign on?? You can't even create an account! Going to uninstall and not give it another chance. Will wait for Meboo or other alternatives.

Great Come in people! Creating an account for me took like 15 seconds at the most! You don't need to complain about that! This is a very good application. It crashes a little but I think that it's not that bad. 4 out of 5.

Potential and Promising. Missing Essentials Great interface, great idea, only way to get out of IM, is to close it, meaning you can only chat with one person at a time, and if u want to chat with someone else, you lose the IM that you are on entirely.

don't like the way it operates You need to create an account with them and then have your passwords for all of your accounts stored on their servers rather then locally on your iphone / ipod. Not a good idea.

I really like it I like this program, it hasn't crashed on me yet like the others are saying. Only reason I give it 3 stars is because there is no support to use a horiozontal keyboard. I am going to go back to using Meebo in Safari because you rotate the screen and use the horizontal keyboard. I don't know about anyone else, but I think the horizontal keyboard makes fast instant messaging 900x easier. The spread out buttons make a world of a difference, both in comfort and typing speed.
