I wish more apps were this slick. I've been looking forward to seeing this one for a few weeks now, with my fingers crossed the entire time... what a treat! All-around solid newsreader features coupled with an interface that feels like it belongs on the iphone. The graphic fun brings an immediate smile to your face, but the candy never gets in the way of the functionality of the UI. Best Yet After trying all the leading RSS feed readers, I have found that this is the best news application available (although landscape has too few features and presents too little text at a time to be useable). Get your news fast! I deleted all my news apps once I got this one on my iphone. I can scan my local paper, favorite local news channel and favorite websites for recent news in no time. I look forward to discovering more feeds that interest me. The cover flow design is cool and functional. Don't bother with the other RSS apps! The only things it lacks:
1) article links in landscape view
2) auto-refresh like apple's mail app

Nicely done, not perfect I am just trying this out and I have to say I am pleased - well worth the money. It's the best here for sure - although the free one is still good also. It feels like it has some room for improvement with UI and hopefully the developer will tweak things after comments come in.Here's some of mine:-the large unread and flagged buttons in the feed screen are annoying and a waste of space. I'd rather not see them at all.-it would be nice to see another line in the main feed screen. An option for sizing the fonts and spacing down a bit?-why do you have to double tap in landscape mode? - iTunes uses single tap-it seems like rotating to landscape and getting the feeds is a strange behavior when you are reading an article. I might expect to see the article in landscape?A couple updates since using it for a bit: there are definitely some bugs - when pressing back when reading an article and then on a second article, the first one displayed and then pressing back wouldn't make it go away - had to restart the app. Loading of feeds is significantly slower than the free version. Some articles load sized to the picture instead of the text leaving you with micro text that you can tap to enlarge. Coverflow is quite slow to load and IMHO not quite as intuitive as it could be.Again - nice for a first version, but needs some work. - NewsRack review by jflamm
Oh My! What A GREAT Reader! EXCELLENT! Worth The Price! Buy It! This app is a riot! Once you get your feeds in there just turn your phone sideways and you will see them on the shelf! However.... on the feeds menu screen when I picked one to read the normal way... once I was done I tapped on the feeds button on the upper left hand corner the app crashed back to the desktop and then I had to reload it and seems to be ok.... freaked me out a bit as my iphone has been one of those that keeps crashing all of the apps all of the time but I think I have it in control now... I was able to reload this app without a problem.... just wanted you to know this.... I love this app and you guys did a awesome job with it! ...Just about perfect!! It was difficult decision choosing a RSS reader. I have read the reviews and looked at the sample photos and was stuck on manifesto or newsstand. They both have their advantages and disadvantages, but I chose newsstand. I'm thoroughly happy with the choice. There are many positives: a great interface, smooth and easy to use "coverflow" and a greatly appreciated manual and help guide. Now, if you could implement offline reading (for us iPod touch users) and better uses of the "coverflow" (info and links to full landscape articles) would put the icing on the cake. If You've Been Waiting for a good enough RSS reader like me, this is the one. I like the flexibility of both reading modes, seeing the number of unread stories right on the icon, and the completeness of the features. I can't complain about anything. The only suggestion I can make so far is to be able to have different themes for different feeds. Shows promise but crashes A LOT!! This is actually a pretty cool app - but won't run for me unless I reboot the iPhone 3g first. Then if I add feeds I need to quit before it crashes to save the feeds. Built browser keeps crashing!! This news reader is alright. Landscape mode is not a big deal. Reading in landscape mode is annoying because the text is too small. Also you can not refresh your sources in landscape mode. The biggest problem is the crashing with the built in browser (well it Safari), it crashes a bunch. Almost 5 stars, almost perfect! A lot of the details in this application are absolutely great. I like being able to name the feeds instead of using the default page titles, I like that the icons / folders shake while loading, I like the home screen RSS notifications, I LOVE the embedded browser for viewing stories. Unlike other readers I think the landscape mode is fun and offers a unique way to quickly browse the headlines of all your feeds. Would it be better launched by button, leaving typical landscape mode for reading? I'm not sure, I do like tipping horizontally as a "shortcut" to get to an overview screen. As much as I praise this app, there are definitely some issues.1) Del.icio.us tagging occurs in seperate Safari instance!! BLAH! I bought this app partially because I thought it would be great for saving posts to del.icio.us, the del.icio.us support set it apart from many of the other readers. After testing it though, there is no way I will use the del.icio.us functionality unless it opens in an embeded browser like the articles. Fixing this would easily warrant an update from 4 to 5 stars.2) The magnifying lens on the title edit freezes the app every time. This is a somewhat obscure bug, not a biggie as I'm sure it's easy to fix.3) Drag and drop folder/feed organization would be great, but it's probably limited by the components in the SDK. You've dealt with organization nicely regardless, so again- not a big deal for me.Thanks for the app, I'll look forward to an update with an embeded browser for del.icio.us tagging! - NewsRack review by dujoducom
GOOD BUT NOT GREAT Yes the UI is very nice, however it suffers from the same issue as most RSS readers - when you want to go beyond the abrieviated article, it can take forever to load, especially if you are not using wifi. People just don't don't have the patience. If only it could download all the text quickly. WOW! An RSS Reader done Right! This review is my first and I have to say it takes one great software for me to even consider writing a reivew. I find this software to be so creative and just fun to use. Seems to fix all the major gripes from other RSS readers. I have tried them all and this one is by far the best. If I could add anything it would be a feature from the Google Reader app that lets user download a full web page. That is being picky though. Almost perfect This is my favorite RSS reader for iPhone - it's very flexable, it nests feeds in folders, and it's very stable - It's almost perfect ... except for the awful useless landscape mode. Ugh!! I pulled up the Dillbert comic and the strip was wider than the screen so I instinctivly rotated the phone and ... nothing but disappointment. I didn't get to see Dilbert in widescreen, that's for sure.

Close, but no cigar I was using Google Reader but it had a LOT of inherent problems like crashing, reloading when I opened up a story therby browsing away from the reader. So I thought I would try this reader. Guess what? I am going back to Google Reader.
This app is missing quite a lot. Fir instance, there are no folders to organize my feeds. This also means that I can't aggregate categories of feeds. More annoying is that when I open a story and rotate my iPhone to increase the font size (old eyes need bigger fonts), the app flips to a pretty graphic display that seems to provide no value.
In summary, the developer needs to take a close look at Google Reader and beat that. Then this app would be worth 5 bucks. As of now it is like one of those annoying free apps you download then throw away after playing with it for a few minutes. - NewsRack review by Schnookster
Best news reader currently available... I've tried iRSS, Bylines, smartRSS, NetNewsWire, and azRSS...most were pretty bad, and none including this one are perfect. I do think Newsstand is the best though. pros: internal browser, feed finder, coverflow, email & del.icio.us bookmarking, themes, read offline.cons: internal browser is a little slow, coverflow doesn't "snap into place", del.icio.us opens in safari.I spent $5 and feel good about it...like i said. Great update Update allows user to read headlines in full, which makes a big difference. For those who don't already have this app, I recommend it. Easy to use, built in search, ( although searches don't always turn up expected results ) manually enter URLs, built in browser to link to full stories without the use of safari. Landscape mode, while nice to look at, feels a little gimmicky to me. Overall, this app is nicely done. I can get all my news here, in one place.
