This comprehensive and free medical reference is from the University of Maryland Medical Center, one of the nation’s oldest academic medical centers. It contains more than 50,000 pages of in-depth and consumer friendly medical information in both English and Spanish.
This handy application provides medically reviewed information, which is divided into categories to make finding what you’re looking for as easy as possible. These categories include:

There is also an easy-to-use search feature on the app home page; just type in any keyword or search phrase and the search will return all related content.

Disappointed OK for health care consumers. I find it too basic for health care providers, nurses, etc. This app interfaces with the U of M website, so an Internet connection is needed to use it. It is NOT a self-contained application.

Excellent and comprehensive Need internet access; the program you download is small. Very comprehensive with both first aid that the layman can understand and more comprehensive information for the layman and medical professional. Highly recommended.

Definitely a laymen tool I'm a first year surgery resident and thought this might be a useful tool to have in my pocket as a medical database resource. But it is really too simplistic to be of any use to a doctor. I would imagine, however that it is quite useful to laymen and new nurses.
