I'm a stupid, but not as much as you developer. I downloaded CityTransit first, because this one was too expensive. I deleted it and bought this one now. Awesome application. Guys, you are losing money with the price. Sell it for 4.99 and everybody will get it.Cheers

Best of NYC subway apps! This is by far the best nyc subway application for the iphone. The graphics are clear and the map is interactive; letting you click on various subway stops to get information. You can pinpoint your own location on the map as well get directions. After trying all the subway applications available, this is the one I find works the best. Definitely worth the extra dollars.

Best NYC map has perfect resolution, pinch and double tab works great, works with GPS, directions work like a charm, price might be a little high also compared to other maps but still the best

Good, if a little pricey Definitely too expensive ($5 or $6 seems about right), but it is a nice map system. The maps are clear and sharp. The fact that you can browse offline is great, especially when you're spelunking the MTA tunnels. I wish there was a GPS-based "nearest subway station" feature, but it doesn't seem like there is one.

Great App Keeps Getting Better I wrote a review after I purchased the program for $15. It read, "Great App, Not so Great Price." However, since then the price has dropped twice, making this App way more practical mainly for tourists who are unfamiliar with NYC subways (especially with the confusing map published by the Metro). This company is listening to its users and keeps improving an already great product. Oh yeah, can I get my $5 back :) ?

Very impressive Despite what others are saying about the price, you get what you pay for here. It works very well, especially for an iPod Touch user. The vector graphics make this very attractive so you can zoom far in much as you want without it artefacting. I look forward to updates of this product as I will be making very good use of it!

Great iPhone app... This is exactly what an iPhone application should be... convenient and useful. The complaints about price are ridiculous. When coffee started costing $2.00 a cup, I quit expecting my software to cost $2.00. The fact that you can zoom in on the map and it isn't pixelated is worth the price alone. Thanks for a great app.

The perfect Subway App While perhaps a bit pricey, this is a very well executed app. It allows you to do everything you would want a subway app to do, including: zooming into stations from the map (with a decent resolution map), get detailed directions, search for stations, map station locations, get service advisories, etc. This is no doubt, the Rolls-Royce of subway apps.

Price is good! Obviously the people complaining about the price never owned a PocketPC. I've been using smart devices since the Newton and can tell you that external apps always ranged from $20 - $100. As such, I was elated to see the more expensive apps for the iPhone at less than $15. It's just another reason why I'm glad I got my iPhone.I have to take the subway to different locations every day and find this application worth every penny. Wish this app worked with the Google Maps feature though.

Would like subdued street map The clarity of the entire app is fantastic. My only gripe is that there is no subdued street map with the major streets on the map. It just shows the stops and the lines, which is hard to place into context sometimes depending on where you are. Please continue to improve this app by adding this feature and refining others.

Too expensive for the current features This app has much better features than other competing apps, like vector images and offline browsing, which is indispensable in the WiFi-less, cell signal-less subway underground. That said, this app costs way too much relative to other competing apps. Not only that, it costs way too much compared to the other navigation apps created by the same company for other cities' metro lines (click on the iTrans company name to see their other apps -- they all cost $5). The Train Times feature does not show when the next train is supposed to show up; rather it just shows the frequency of trains. The Directions feature could also benefit from address-to-address directions. Most of the time, I have a start and end address to input, and don't know where the nearest subway station is. The app requires you to enter the start and end stations you want to use. This is a main deal breaker for me. Also, I wished that the subway map had a street map overlay. This would be very helpful to figure out what street and avenue you are on relative to the train stations. If the app had this, then maybe I'd consider the $12.99 price tag. Right now, though, the price really should be closer to $5 or $6.Other than those qualms, though, it seems like the best app out of the current offerings.

why would you not include the street names? Search function does not work as well as it should, for instance if you type in your address, it will not be found to popular the search field. Also it would make sense to add the physical NYC street map over the sub way map or at least have a function to do so. Hopefully the updates will address this problem.

Very Useful Subway App This is one of the most useful applications I have bought for my iphone.The best feature of this application is the inclusion of the subway schedule. As a New Yorker, I like to be efficient with my time. I like to know when the next train will come. All you have to do is tap on the station, look at the subway line you want and underneath it there is a list of all the next departure times. This has come in handy when I am waiting at a station such as West 4th street. There are two subways I can take home from this station, the A/C or the B/D. Unfortunately they are located on separate upper and lower level platforms, so in the past I would wait on the middle level and try to listen for which train would come first. With this application I was able to figure out which train would come first and wait for it on the correct platform. The departure times listed are surprisingly accurate, especially if you are traveling later at night when trains are less frequent.I've been recommending this application to all my friends, and I recommend it to you too.

Great app! Excellent application. The vector graphics are great, as is the interface which is very similar to the built-in Google Maps app. What's also great is that when giving directions, it takes into account the time of day and gives you directions based on the lines that are running at the time (i.e., after midnight it'll tell you to take the 7 rather than the Shuttle at Times Sq). Suggestions: show individual lines next to each station on the map (as it is on the MTA's official map); a list view of stations near where you are; and the ability to pick from alternate routes based on more transfers, less walking, etc., like HopStop.

Got even better I got this a while ago and have always liked it a lot. It's clear, comprehensive and works off-line. Now, with this new update, it's even much better. It has lots of details, it's as extensive as an MTA map and still very easy to navigate. Great!

Overpriced, directions feature doesn't work well. Subway map in your pocket, and advisories nice to have, but the directions feature works poorly. Often gives you unneeded transfers, so that when best route is to get on the 4, for instance, and ride it all the way to Borough hall in Brooklyn, it will tell you to make a fifteen minute transfer to the A/C train so that you end up one block closer to your destination. Even after the latest update (1.1, I think), which purported to cut down on unnecessary transfers, it still does this. For $10.00, the directions should be spot on. No reason to buy this over the cheaper priced alternative here in the app store.

Very Satisfied Honestly, I am not sure why people keep saying and CityTransit is better. Sure you pay more for this app but you get good resolution maps and you get the directions. You can locate the nearest stops and service adviseries are great. The only thing CityTransit has on this app is the fact that it had two or three more maps of long island rail. Spend the extra money, it's worth it.
