A great start Finally, I can use my iphone for my scriptures at Church. Lugging around a two year old and regular scriptures was too much work. The cell phone reception in the cultural hall was spotty so the web app did not work fast enough. I was back to using my palm. A couple things need to be updated fast. First of all we need page numbers in the Joseph Smith manual. As we all know in class they tell you to read from page numbers. Second it would be nice to be able to large size the fonts by finger action like you can do on the web. All in All a great start. A little pricey

Well worth the wait...and already waiting for the next update This was the first app that I wanted from the store. I am happy with it and look forward to being able to use it without the internet. I like the addition of the McConkie chapter summaries. My only reservation would be the price. That is why I gave it the four stars. LET ME EXPLAIN. With the next update hopefully within the week, I am looking forward to great things for the price tag that it has. Additions would include a more precise search within books, personal notes, TG, BD, JST,maps, authorized footnotes, Book of Abraham facsimiles, page numbers for the Prophet manuals, access to the footnotes within the JS Manual, people names with conference talks (before you enter the actual talk - people remember talks by who gave them - not the name of the talk), hymn search by name, and the ability to highlight are not maybes, because without them, the app would fall way short of the price. With those changes made, this would be almost a perfect app. I know that seems like a lot but I think it can be done. Congrats on a bright future.I would suggest anyone that wants to read the content to buy this app. Well worth it.PS...there are errors in the conference talks (ex. $15 is a Bargain! You know, most of the people complaining about the price and/or wanting it for free have no idea of the time that must have gone into such a project. Fifteen bucks is pizza on a Friday night. Skip the pizza one time and you'll be better off! I mean, come on, quoting scriptures that say this should be free? That's a bit much! You have a $600 iPhone for crying out loud (plus a huge wireless bill), what's $15 more (a non-recurring fee mind you) going to hurt?Great job! Just what i was waiting for - Great start I've been waiting for an offline scripture application with LDS content, and this fits the bill almost perfectly. I can't wait for additional features. Some suggestions: -Ability to pick and choose content to download via the app or desktop -Ability to change the font in the application (Perhaps via pinch/squeeze) -Footnote automatic linking -Search -Auto smooth-scrolling -Note taking general and attached to specific scriptures -Ability to export notes to email for safe keeping or printing to keep with physical scriptures -Bookmarks -Ability to highlight and save -Multiple views, or on-the-go bookmarks (often during sunday school we are bouncing between multiple scriptures, it would be nice to have on-the-go bookmarks to hop back and forth Initial thoughts. About time! This was well worth the price paid. For those of you complaining about spending $15 have fun carrying around the full set of LDS standard works on a daily basis. Did you complain about how much an iPhone costs too? Grow up, developers have to eat too the last time I checked. If you want it for free, use the web version! The last thing we need is socialists reading the word of God and corrupting it with their Marxist interpretations. If you are so justified by your complaints, hire a developer yourself and sell a competitive product for a lower price. Welcome to the real world. Finally! The much awaited app is finally here! This was a great web based program & is even better as an app. My leather bound scriptures cost a bundle and weigh a ton. When you consider the amount of time it probably took to program this app, $14.99 is not too bad. $9.99 would have been better but when the updates come out $14.99 will be more than reasonable. Now iPhone scriptures always in range This app was basically available through a web app. Inside church, the ATT signal was so low, it took forever to load, when it would load. Now with the a real app, I don't have to rely on it being a good day to access scriptures on my iPhone. An Easier Way to Learn... I was waiting for this App so when I saw it I bought it without reservation. As a long time Mac user since 1984, I realize that preparing software is a lot of work so the price didn’t really bother me. Heck, I spent about a hundred-bucks for my quad & cover so fifteen dollars for this electronic version with a lot more resources is a bargain. As the App is updated, the features will provide an even higher level of utility. Also, in my particular case, I can look up things faster in this format than I can with my paperback version. Only $15 Bucks!!! I don't understand why all the complaining, there's nothing like a culture that wants something for nothing. This is the cheapest set of scriptures I've ever bought before, beside the time two guys in shirts and ties gave me a Book of Mormon for free. This is a lot of material and I would have payed $25 if that meant a further development and better app's to come. Awesome! So great to have it installed on my iPhone, especially for long plane flights. As far as the price goes, come on! You just dropped $199 or $299 for a phone, you are paying $60 a month to have the phone, and now you complain about $14.99? I'll bet this app cost $10,000 in development costs to get it to this point. Personally, I think my salvation is worth at least $14.99, but that is just me. Good start. Looking forward to more updates I have been waiting for this app. Overall I am fairly pleased. It has about the same functionality as the online version, but is much faster and is useful since I don't have very fast data speeds in my chapel. I understand that the next update will have several other new features such as bookmarking, cross referencing, highlighting, etc. I would also like to see the Teachings of the Presidents include page numbers, since most often the teacher will refer to the paragraph or reference by the page number it is found on. Disappointed at cost I, like many others, have been looking forward to this app since the release of the first iPhone. However I am very disappointed with the price of this application. I could live with people having to pay .99 or 1.99 but not 14.99.

AWESOME! Now My iPhone has Everything! I have only had a iPhone for two weeks. After transferring from my WindowsMobile6 Smart Phone, having the scriptures was the only thing I was lacking. Now Life is good once again. I love the interface. Somes things that would be nice to see are the Hymns. And also to have the Page Numbers in all of the books that correlate to the page numbers that most folks will be referring to in classes.
