Must Have For Practicing Physicians   I have used Epocrates for many years but was always bothered with the long time that it takes to start up.Finally, a new drug reference application that provides a quick and detailed access to detailed prescription information as well as to CME and medical news.

Great app!   Very useful app. Am able to get info I need right from my phone and without the hassle of carrying around loads of books. The design is well thought out and easy to use. The CME is a great added bonus.

Great app!   Have both medscape and epocrates. I like the interface for medscape more. Advantages over epocrates: user interface, news, cme. Disadvantages: no pill pictures, no source on price of medication. Would give 5 stars if pics are added.

Exactly what a doctor needs in a drug reference!   An excellent drug reference that gives me the info I need to make quick and accurate decisions for prescribing medications. The application is fast to load. It has news and CME which Epocrates does not. Another useful feature is the doctor and pharmacy look-up. I plan to use this application in my daily practice.

this is what I need for my practice in a drug reference   this application is what i need for my practice, was using it today and would work for when i need information about meds during interventional procedures, etc. also liked the news that they are offering, kind of cool to be able to get it bundled with a drug reference. haven't tried the cme stuff they offer, but looks interesting, will check it out soon.

Epocrates on Steroids   What more can I say -- faster, free and more information than epocrates. I will be using this app in the clinic when I'm seeing patients. Excellent search engine for docs, hospitals, and pharmacies. You can pick the type of medical news you want. I plan to use the CME piece as well. Good Job Medscape!

Not good after a close look   I heard Medscape was launching a drug reference and figured I would try it out. I have already used Epocrates for years and love it but wanted to give Medscape a try. Overall it’s an okay application. At first it seemed similar to Epocrates but then I noticed a lot of drug misspellings and missing drugs. It also didn’t have any pill pictures or calculators. It actually started getting slower as I used it and then ended up crashing my device. I would recommend doctors continue to download Epocrates – it has all the content you need, the drug interaction feature is really handy and I have trusted it for more than 7 years back when I used a Palm V device.

Better than epocrates   I have a new iphone 3gs and the app works great. No lag like in other reviews. The physician search function is very useful for the consultants you rarely use but need to look up. CME is very easy and concise.

Good simple app but drug info is lacking   Nice clean app. Drug info is from Pepid which I used to use and is missing some common drugs, interactions, warnings, etc. Will stick with Epocrates for now, but hope Medscape comes out with more.

Poor imitation of Epocrates   This is a poor first attempt at copying Epocrates. The Medscape drug reference uses Pepid, which has lots of deficiencies, as we all know. The app crashed multiple times when I tried it out and doesn't really work when there's no internet connection. It seemed fast at first, but it gets slower and slower the more you use it. I love the pill pics, Dx content and formulary on Epocrates, all of which do not exist in Medscape.

Looks nice, but crashes, missing drugs, needs wifi   Looks nice, but lacking in actual use. App slows the more you use it and crashes 2-3x per day. Missing most OTCs (Excedrin, Robitussin, etc), a few brands (Tekturna HCT, Novarel, Exforge HCT), and few misspellings ("Rapaflo" is "Rapoflo"). No calculator or pill pics. Runs slow if you have a slow internet connection.
