Not Worth The Time To Download   I thought, "At last, I can listen to radio on my Iphone!". I was wrong. The idea is great, however when using the app, I quickly realized that this is NOT for long-term listening. Regardless of where I am in the world, I can only listen to about 1 1/2 to 2 songs before it begins to buffer. Afterwards, it comes back on briefly before it buffers again and ultimately quits working. I then log back on to a different station only to repeat this process once again. This app will be deleted if I cannot get a response as to how this will be fixed and I will be requesting a full refund of the amount I paid. If it can be fixed to my satisfaction, then I will definitely give it 5 stars!

Great!   For those of you about to buy this, you need to understand a few things, which clearly most of the negative reviewers don't:1. WunderRadio and their partner RadioTime do NOT stream stations themselves. WunderRadio relies on volunteers to stream their local weather station for WunderGround.com, so they have no control over which stations stream and which ones don't. And RadioTime uses the stream found on the station's website. People complaining about missing stations should check the stations website to see if they actually stream online first, and even if they do stream, it's possible they stream with a format that WunderRadio cannot play, like streaming rtmp flash or a stream that uses encryption. And for those complaining about buying it only to find out that their favorite station is not available, they do offer a link to check if your station is available, which you should have used before purchasing this app.2. As for performance issues, the thing is mobile internet speeds are not constant, especially when you are in motion, they can fluctuate from 3G like speeds to speeds slower than dial up. Apps like Pandora stream stations themselves and use multibitrate technology to compensate for fluctuations in connection speed, WunderRadio uses streams from the stations websites, and it's very rare for them to include the same protection, so you may experience problems with stations that stream at higher bitrates.3. As for people complaining about the lack of music when you leave the application, Apple does not allow downloaded applications to run in the background after you leave them. This would likely limit support of an alarm clark function too, since Apple doesn't allow applications to store a timer that will allow an application to startup on it's own.4. As for complaints about sports blackouts, blame the leagues, NFL.com and MLB.com charge users for online streaming, meaning they'll sue if a station streams it for free, some other leagues allow streaming of games but charge the station extra if they want to, so some stations black them out.5. And for the person saying WunderRadio is spelled wrong, look at the name of the company who made this app and take a guess where they got the Wunder name from...6. On a side note Apple should really give the developer a chance to dispute a negative review before posting it since there's way too many instances of people bashing this product for issues that are no fault of the actual app.Keeping these outside limitations in mind, WunderRadio is a great product. One thing most of you fail to realize is that WunderRadio uses a custom coded media player that supports way more streaming formats that the majority of streaming stations use, giving you a greater selection of stations, unlike most other applications that only support mp3 and leave you with a limited number of stations. I also love the ability to enter a custom URL, which I use to stream music remotely from my private shoutcast server. The Last.FM integration is great to find information about the current artist, but keep in mind that not all stations embed song titles into their streams, and many don't follow the standard for including song data so the integration will not work for all stations. One option that I feel is lacking is the ability to add a default location for local radio by zip/postal code, which will be useful in cases where GPS isn't available, like on some wifi connections.

Started out good   When I first downloaded this App It worked like a charm, but that was inside the house, in the car it would stop and start all the time, if I went back in the house it would work fine, I found out it was working off the wi-fi in my home so I disabled the wi-fi on my iPhone and and it started to start and stop in the house also. I thought this App worked on 3G also. With all of the good reviews here I thought it was a good App. Just working in the house, is not going to cut it.

Disappointing   Phone does not ring or play other alerts such as received text or email while using. Crashes a lot. Does not have any of the good local stations in my area. Finally broke down and bought an app, wish I would have stuck with the free ones.

Fantastic!   I wasn't sure if I wanted to pay for this app since I had four or five free radio/music apps on my iPhone, but I'm really glad I did. This has become one of my very favorite apps. It has many, many more stations than the other radio apps. I can listen to radio from dozens of other countries. I can get NPR from almost every major city in the US. BBC and CBC news, talk radio, and almost any kind of music I want to listen to at any time is available with Wunder Radio. I think this is a must have app. You will not be dissapointed.

Wunder Radio   Let me start by saying that this has been the best purchase I have ever done in iTune. I have no regrets what so ever with this application. I’m able to listen to radio stations from Puerto Rico with no problem at all and when ever I like. It’s well worth the $5.99 and much more…

What a waste!   I spent $6.00 with a lot of reluctance to get better radio stations than what is available in Chicago. For about a week, it was AWESOME, I could listen to Hot97, stations in L.A. without the application crashing. Then it happened....everything that I read in the reviews. Now it crashes constantly & I can't listen to any stations except Chicago police scanners ...really..what a huge waste of money. Oh and btw, the free app. iheartradio isn't any better either. Too bad, I can't get a refund on this hot garbage application.

Wowwww   I was skeptical at first to pay 6 bucks for an app no one else reviewed yet, because I was already using FStream which is free. One thing that I didn't like about FStream was its interface, but hey, it was free. WunderRadio though, takes all of the guess work out of things and WOW Scanners too!?! I was sold and I'm loving it. Going through the process of making all of my favorites so now I can keep listening to programs when I get out of my car.Who knew I would ever pay $400 for a radio... Thanks Apple and Thanks Weather Underground for this terriffic app! - Wunder Radio review by D. Tuggle
Shows promise but crashes continually   This app shows a lot of promise but is incredibly unstable. Changing channels crashes often. Searching and saving channels crashes often. Changing Bit Rate when prompted totally locked up the iPhone and needed to do a hard boot. Buffering seems to be "iffy" at best with lots of rough audio even on wi-fi (did not test on 3G).This application has some really great potential and I would love to see it improve, and if it can get over the version 1.0 blues of putting the app into the realworld it will probably be a great app for the iphone. - Wunder Radio review by OMPWebDude
Now I Can ROCK in Denver, Co   Wow, I have been a supporter of the folks at Weather Underground for several years, and the last thing I expected was a radio application. But let me tell you, they nailed it! The added features of weather and scanner channels are nice, but the number of stations they are hooked into is AMAZING! I live in Denver, Co and there really isn't a good ROCK station here. I downloaded the app, and went to my hometown, Hampton Roads, Virginia. And there it was, FM99! Now I can listen to Tommy and Rumble in the mornings during my commute, and during the day ROCK it out with the best rock station period!!I only ran into one issue. I started a station while connected to wifi in my garage. Pulled out, and my network jumped over to 3G. The app was not able to make the switch. Exiting that station, and choosing another, still seemed to have the application confused as to what it was supposed to do. The work-around was to exit the application, and come back in while on 3G. Other radio apps are handling this issue, so I imagine it will only be a matter of time before its fixed. Great app! Great job! - Wunder Radio review by ApolloEagle
This is the missing link for any ipod/iphone   Where aol radio and tuner worked alright, this application is able to find and play local streams in any city! the only problem it has is when the network changes from WiFi to 3G or visa vera it will drop out and I have to restart the application. - Wunder Radio review by jtaylr77
Schizophrenic thus far   Well, based on the hype, I bought the app. So far, I'm underwhelmed. What works, works very well. But at least half of the URLs that I tried would not work at all. Sure, maybe all the 'major' stations work. But in trying to get local stations, it failed miserably for me most of the time. Even the local NOAA weather radio (why I bought the program) wouldn't stream. I emailed the first failure, thinking it was an anomaly. After the fifth local station wouldn't stream, I realized it wasn't me, and it wasn't just an individual station. Having said that, this program has tremendous potential. If the bugs can be fixed, it will surely be a first page app. Until then, I'm sorry to say, it's still a beta application, released before it's time. For 5 bucks, I expected more..... - Wunder Radio review by Love 'dem Apps!
Best $6 I've spent on an iPhone app   I bought WunderRadio before hitting the road to Dallas for a business trip. What I found was that this is without a doubt the best internet radio application for the iPhone! I like how WunderRadio allows you to search your local environs, which it finds through the built-in GPS location of my 3G. I can also search by city and state, which makes it easy to listen in on stations at home and find out what's new in the news. The NOAA weather radio is outstanding, although of low quality (no fault of Wunder Radio). But the big surprise was being able to listen in on scanners! I've never been one to listen to radio scanners, but I found it fascinating to hear the local sheriff's office back at home responding to accidents and calls. The partnership with RadioTime is what makes the AM/FM radio content of WunderRadio so incredible. Some of the stations that require 3G connections are so clear, they sound better than some of the content loaded on my iPhone and played back on the iPod application. Dump those other iPhone radio applications; get WunderRadio today. - Wunder Radio review by MovableBeast
Excited but disappointed   I purchased this app for my Ipod touch with the excitement that it would work as stated. The many favorable reviews backed this up however, I have a problem with about 95% of the stations not being able to connect. I get a "Connection MMS (over top) 50%" error and then the program freezes on many of the stations. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app. The scanner works fine and WINS out of NYC (AM News station) also works well. I am on Wifi so I should not have any bandwidth issues. If anyone knows of a solution on has a similar issue, please post. I sent an email to weather underground stating the issue I am having with this program and the ipod touch. My friend has a 3G iphone and it works well (even on wifi). - Wunder Radio review by Kat1994
GWC   Best Application I've downloaded. Just about any radio station in the county -- and very easy to navigate. It's awesome. - Wunder Radio review by GGGWWWCCC
Great stations... BUT   This app is great, BUT it drops VERY often (every 10 minutes or so) the performance was much better before the last update. Before the update it took a long time to connect, and sometimes I would have to attempt to connect multiple times before it would be successful but once I got connected I was rarely dropped... Now it connects much quicker, and it connects successfully more often, BUT I get dropped ALL THE TIME. And once I am dropped it just gets stuck at 0/100 buffered. I then have to restart the app by holding down the home button until the app closes, then restart the app, find my station and reconnect to it... A hastle to say the least, ESPECIALLY WHILE DRIVING.
And a side note (no baring on the number of stars I chose), the icon got "better" in this last update, but I personally am still not a fan... This is such a cool app, it deserves to be sleek, modern, clear, and simplistic... It should be a strong recognizable mark... Think Apple logo, Nike swoosh, dodge ram. Just a suggestion.
Icon aside, improve the stability and this app gets 4 to 5 stars hands down... Until then I have to give it 2 stars at this price tag. - Wunder Radio review by j.eck
Great!   This will be less cool if we ever get flash/silverlight support, but the scan America streams sealed the deal. The radio streams can sometimes be slow at connecting. Give them a chance.
For Boston listeners 96.9 WTKK does work! - Wunder Radio review by MickAv8r
Good app but needs improvement   I bought Wunder Radio at the beginning of October 2008 and write this review about 7 weeks later. The good: The stations usually connect quickly and have very good sound even on EDGE. It receives lots a various stations. Some stations have a higher bandwidth broadcast and sound fantastic while listening to them over WiFi.The bad: I usually try to use Wunder Radio in the car. I drive a lot throughout Los Angeles, In L.A. but also down to Orange and Riverside Counties, and reception while driving is very poor. Wunder Radio doesn't seem to make the transition between cell towers well. I have to restart the app to re-tune the broadcast and many times it won't retune until several miles later. Contrast this to Pandora, which usually makes the changes between towers flawlessly and plays continuously, and I find that Wunder Radio still has a much work to be done.It also crashes pretty often. I usually restart the phone before using Wunder Radio and that helps.I spent the money for the app but, because of its performance limitations, rarely use it. - Wunder Radio review by Shawnuff
