Backward Evolution   I would have to agree with most of the other reviewers. The jailbroken iPhone version was awesome! If that's what you're expecting if you download this one, prepare to be disappointed!
Consider yourself warned.
If there was actually a way to browse and download dictionaries from known repositories, directly within the app, that would be another story.

'Pro' for three reasons   Love the new and improved UI!
Stability and speed also made progress!
1. FLEXIBILITY. Uploaded my dictionaries (Oxford Advanced, Webster...) with ease via Cyber Duck. Better work association. New 'tap to search any word' feature.2. PRONUNCIATION. One word, AWESOME.3. UPDATING. The developer is working on cool new features! there is a new 'word association map feature' now. Though I did not yet find it useful, I know that this app is developing!

Feeling a bit cheated...   Alright what ever happened to their free version? It was my fault that I didn't look carefully when my iPod had to be restored and everything reset. I just searched and saw the familiar logo then forked over $6+ for WeDict Pro.
I do not need or have the desire to go through the trouble to install other dictionaries. Although it works well I feel as if I've been a bit cheated. Ugh well it works and I like the pronunciation feature along with others but I every time I see this application's icon I cringe.

This is a great useful app. Don't regret paying for it. It's a lot more polished than the original wedict. Would rather pay $6 for this rather than paying $15+ for another dictionary. Great app

Powerful, seriously underrated language tool   This app is an interface for searching dictionaries in the open-source stardict format, and it does its job very well. I have several large (100,000+ entries) Chinese-English dictionaries installed on my iPhone, and it searches them all in a fraction of a second. Some things I especially like about this app:* It has a convenient interface for quick look-ups while I'm reading.* Search results are bookmark-able & email-able, so I can review new vocabulary.* The app is solid, it doesn't crash.* There are many excellent dictionaries in the stardict format available for free, online.Other reviewers have had trouble installing dictionaries. The process can be a bit complicated, but I didn't have any problems when I followed the instructions on the developer's website. For me, this app is an essential language tool. - WeDict Pro review by Ma Siyou
Greatly improved uploading capabilities   The FTP capabilities included in the most recent update make this much easier to use, even with a file as large as the 1913 edition of Webster's. Thank you! - WeDict Pro review by bapawn
太棒了~支持!   其实升级到1.2已经很好用了,而且速度很快,又可以通过wifi本地自建词典,现在还能支持发音,完美了:D谢谢提供那么好的软件~ - WeDict Pro review by Raphaelx
Just the upgrade I was looking for   Or close to it. It seems targeted to the translation market, whereas I wanted the more extended dictionaries available from stardict (entymology, thesaurus, the jargon file) - so I had to get my own. But the web site had explicit instructions: get your dictionary, find the .idx and .dict files (including the screwy rename & compress for the .dict files). and then use the ftp server to load them up. It all worked like a charm. Using a web server - like many other apps - probably would have been better for people who don't remember when ftp was THE File Transfer Protocol, and a little work on the page would make things a lot better, but it's not like you change dictionaries once a week. Or even once a year.I still haven't figured out what causes the button to read aloud to enable, but given the somewhat erratic nature of the dictionaries, that it seems to work reliably when it's on is about all that you can ask for. This one is worth the price - and you get warm fuzzies for helping out someone who contributed free software when that was the only option. - WeDict Pro review by From Olympus Mons
Dictionaries are now missing   When first purchased, the app site included a link to a site which had the dictionaries in a zip file. It was painful, but possible to use. Now there is no documentation of the site, in the app or on the developer's web page. This renders the app essentially useless. Looks like the developer took the money and ran. - WeDict Pro review by ericthej
I want my money back   This is not better than the free version, and dont even close to the app available to 1.1.4, which it has even word pronunciation. keep your money until is really worth the price, and I need a refund. - WeDict Pro review by Ferchop
Big disappointment   Wedict worked great on my old hacked phone. This version is a huge disappointment;sure dicts can be downloaded but it's a giant pain!Hongtao you can keep the 6 bucks for the good times we had, but please fix this thing! - WeDict Pro review by S.Lake
The best app for people who already have their own dictionary files!   If you already have dictionary files such as *.dict and *.idx or know where you can get them, this will be definitely the BEST app for you.I'm using it as Longman Eng-Eng dictionary, Korean-Eng/Eng-Kor dictionary, Kor-Japanese/Jpn-Kor dictionary, Kor-Chinese dicitonary, and even medical dictionary.Much faster than electronic dictionaries, the comfortable bookmark feature, and easy to download dictionary if you know URL of dictionary.International students or people who have plan to trip to foreign countries must get this app! - WeDict Pro review by Kyuzart
weDict Pro   The pro version has a lot going for it, a ready made library of dictionnaires to download, etc. It also has the quickest and best tech support that I have encountered since the early days of personal computers. I needed help because I had made an error. I got it quickly and efficiently. The download procedure is not too bad if one sticks to the ready-made library. However to install items from other sources is not for the faint-hearted. - WeDict Pro review by ptkap
help   Too complicate software. I try to follow the instruction ,but i still can not upload the zip file event it containt .dict & .idx file. Please help me ! all I need just English-Vietnames dictionary for my iphone. Can you make it easy Thanks - WeDict Pro review by dakillar
Not that Efficient.   Needs work. Should be easier to access everything. - WeDict Pro review by Schmyler
unusable   I was looking forward to this app because I used it back in the jailbreaking days, and adding packages for English<--> German was a trivial task. This app makes it incredibly cumbersome, and I've been trying to get it to work for an hour, and still nothing. The downloads from the web site keep timing out. I even tried downloading the dictionaries from another site (stardict.org), uploading to my own web site, and downloading from there, but they just download and don't show up in the dictionaries list. I'd like my $6 back. - WeDict Pro review by Aaron Harpole
What happened to this app?   I have used the Installer version of WeDict on jailbroken v1.1.4. This paid version does not come close to the usability of that version. Stay away until dictionary downloads usability is addressed. - WeDict Pro review by microChasm
Not complete   It makes lots of problems about sinc to your iphone and iPod touch... - WeDict Pro review by Bluepisode
