Why?
There are plenty of apps for manipulating a single image or posting a bunch of photos. And you can spend hours in current programs making the perfect movie or multimedia extravaganza out of your photos. What Pix Remix does is help you quickly curate your photos and turn them into a multi-faceted show – one that’s fun to create, and receive.
In making these shareable shows, Pix Remix takes advantage of the gestural interactions that make the iPhone so compelling. You are able to do things like:
- Shake to rearrange a collage, and
- Swipe to create a path to follow in panning across a picture.
We hope this beats using a mouse and toolbars.
Features
- Choose a few photos and a starter template. Select from traditional slideshow, animated collage, or our powerful Pan and Zoom templates.
- Use intuitive gestures to alter your show the way you want. Pinch, drag, and tap to create a collage, and shake to rearrange it.
- Add some captions to set the stage.
- Share directly from the app using email, Facebook, or Twitter.
- Recipients can view the show on the web or in the app.
Pix Remix is the perfect complement to apps like ColorSplash, Camera Zoom, Photogene, PhotoEffects, and CameraBag. Combine your enhanced photos into a show and share them!
There’s no end to the things you can do with Pix Remix. Here’s just one example:
You snap a few photos while on a hike. On the ride home, you arrange them into a quick collage, add captions around a few photos, and post it to Facebook. Unique app that's not a one-trick pony! This app helps you quickly combine a few of your photos together into an interesting package. It has a ton of functionality built into it, and a slick UI that ties it all together. I'll just mention a few of my favorite features here.The way you can create a show that automatically zooms in and pans around to specific parts of a photo is awesome. You can write captions about different people in a picture, or give a little photo tour of a room or a landscape.I also like how you can choose different kinds of shows -- like an animated collage, or just a simple slideshow.But my favorite part is how you can send it directly to your Facebook or Twitter profile and have others view the show right from their feeds. It's so much more interesting than just posting another album of photos!

What a unique and creative app! My first paid-for app, and totally worth it. I just started getting more into photography and this has been a really fun way to showcase my burgeoning hobby. I love the pan and zoom function, and especially the direct to Twitter and Facebook capabilities--saves me an extra step (or two or three). I feel like this would've also been amazing in my college years when I could caption photos--"check out Dave's keg stand!" Overall, a great app--thanks!

A good start This app is solid and runs quick. It's light on features and customization. Because of this, I think it's a great starting point. I hope future updates add simple features like controling the speed of the Ken Burns effect.
While their website tries to justify the limit of the numbers of photos used, 8 just isn't enough. I'm inclined to think there is a technical limit to the number of photos and app can manipulate.
As I said, I think it's a great start but I'm not sure it's quite worth $2.99 yet. Thigh value is relative to other apps, not absolute as $3 is that much.

The BEST App I have purchased so far! Take it from me. I have a first Gen iPod Touch. My primary use is for photo viewing/editing/sharing. The App works like a charm, the design is soooo user friendly and the options to share with others on the fly is awesome! iPhone users could easily send slideshows of wherever they are at to anyone on the face of the earth as it is happening. Get it, it will become one of your permanent home page Apps!

great photo app I love the pan and scan functionality--it's like commenting on facebook pictures, but way better. The integration with social media makes it easy to turn my iphone photos into something more finished, and shared. And I always appreciate an app that bothers to take advantage of the uniqueness of the iPhone/touch interface. Now I just need to update my iPhone so my pictures are more sharing-worthy!

Makes it fun and easy to share photo shows with friends. I downloaded Pix Remix today as soon as I saw that it was available. I was really excited after seeing the video about it on TUAW, and I'm even more happy now. Quite simply, Pix Remix takes all of the photos I have on my iPhone and turns them into slideshows, collages, and Ken Burns-style pan-and-zooms. The interface is slick, it integrates perfectly with the existing photo capabilities of the iPhone, and it's incredibly easy to send them to Facebook, Twitter, or via e-mail so others can view it whether they have iPhone or not.Most importantly, it just works. I recommend it to anyone who's looking for a better way to send around photos on their iPhone and stay in touch with friends and family. It's just that easy.

Amazing and easy!
Severely limited: 8 photo maximum The app is fairly slick and well designed, but the workflow is a little non-intuitive; it takes some fiddling around with the controls to figure out how exactly to accomplish what you want. But that aside, the big problem with it is that you're limited to a measly 8 photos to a slideshow. It's my own fault for not reading all the reviews more carefully...if I had, I would have seen it mentioned in an earlier review and would not have bothered buying it. Bottom line is, for me, it's fairly useless if I can only include 8 photos. Hopefully the developers will remove/solve this limitation in an update soon.

Pix Remix v. 1.1 A fun new app for the iPhone photographer. One glitch I've found: If sending to multiple contacts the Send button is inactive after the last contact. Solution is to use keyboard to add a comma after the last contact in the sequence. Hopefully this will be fixed in the next release.Phil

Great app for photos! This app is really great! The photo manipulation for slideshows and collages is clever and intuitive. Putting a show together takes just a couple minutes, and from there it's incredibly easy to send out. This is THE app if you like to share pictures with friends and family!

This is going to change how I take pictures on my phone From now on when I take photos with my iPhone, I am going to be thinking about how I am going to send them to my friends using THIS APP!!!It is really 3 fun apps in 1, and it is really simple and has a great interface.One tip for people who are downloading it . . .I didn't realize at first that you can add an E-Mail address if you want to. If you hit "preferences," you can add your E-Mail address and then whoever you send the show to can just hit "reply" to reply to you. That makes it easier.Beware to my friends. You are going to be seeing a lot more pictures of me now!

Pix Remix is amazing Finally an app that makes sharing pictures fun and easy! I really like the pan and zoom feature- extremely useful for quickly telling the whole story behind the pictures. I love the fact that you can quickly resize and reposition pictures using the collage feature too. It makes me feel creative even though I don't I have creative bone in my body.

loving the ease of posting to facebook A few days ago I spent about 25 minutes creating a slideshow on Facebook with pictures from my phone. Today, it took about 2 minutes. Such a fun and simple way to share pictures with family and friends. One drawback - the 8 picture limit. But that just ensures that I don't bore everyone to death with too much documentation of the same event. I love this app.

AWESOME photo app! I have to say I've been focussing my app downloads to free apps, but this was definitely worth the purchase! I had started taking fewer pictures because i found I would never share them because I didn't have any easy and nice way to share multiple pictures at once from my phone. This is great - really user friendly and with a lot of options... highly recommended!!

Great attn to detail As a graphic designer I will pull the snob card and say that I definitely judge on design. App has some simple clear graphics and an even more lovable UI. Just wish I could get files of the shows to keep for myself, but for sharing, this is perfect! Definitely recommended

Great way to make my iPhone even more useful! I take a lot of pics with my phone and upload to sites like Facebook. Pixremix allows me to do that and more. I like the slide show function the best, and look forward to even more ways to manipulate and combine photos to tell stories!

Now I have to start taking more photos! I'm totally into the pan and zoom feature; Its way better than attaching a photo to an email, and a lot more faster than an online gallery. Its the fastest way I have found to actually tell a story using photos on the iPhone. If 1 photo is worth a thousand words. A pan and zoom is 10 x that.
