The must have news app This app rocks. Forget about all the other buggy news apps or the apps that have only one news source. This app is fast and has tons of papers. I've already used the offline feature on the subway. I love it!

Great app! I have AP Mobile, BBCReader, NYTimes, Bloomberg and USA Today apps on my iPhone and this app replaces most of them. Now I can get my news from one app and I reduce the number of apps I have. Love the 'related' button that gives you related news stories. Don't mind the ad but it would be nice to control the number of preview lines displayed (I can't read them anyway). Would like a full screen version to maximize the number of news items visible. Would like a news 'playlist', and be able to organize news items by source, by type, etc. Great app and an excellent start!

Solid News Reader I have EZ News, News Feed, USA Today, NY Times, and Newsstand (RSS) but I keep coming back to Fluent News. As the previous review mentioned, the best thing about this app is that it loads the stories in an iphone friendly mobile format unlike other news readers that link to the full web sites which are a pain to navigate. The speed of the app and the clean interface is what primarily keeps me coming back. The only annoyances are that you cannot edit the news sources (even if it were a predetermined list I could add and remove from it would be better than nothing), the somewhat unappealing icon for the app (seriously, this isn't a big deal to some people but it makes me want to remove it from my home screen sometimes), and the advertisements. I would prefer the ads get removed altogether but I would readily pay for an ad free version if the price was reasonable. In conclusion, a nicer home screen icon, removal of the ads, some display 'theme' customization options, and source customization options would easily make this a 5 star app for me.

Homepage worthy! My favorite news app I'm so happy with the update. Before, even with it's laggy performance, I liked it more than all my other news apps because it brings in all the top headlines together (without all the 'clutter' news of other apps). However, I wished the load times were faster, emailing was easier, and that I could save articles to read for later. Now with the update all my wishes have been addressed! Maybe now just a paid version for ad-free access? A slicker design? Anyway, thank you developers
(If you are having trouble updating this app, I suggest deleting it off your phone and reinstalling it. I had to do that before it would work for me.)

Broad, deep and fast Better than google news for two reasons - broad coverage of a wider variety of topics and 'deep' in that every article i've clicked on has in turn loaded in an iPhone friendly format.
Retreival speed is good. Ads are unobtrusive. Rapidly becoming my reader of choice.

Dramatically increases iPhone backup time Had to remove this app because the time it took to perform the sync backup increased to an intolerable level. I had read that backups will take longer when there are apps that have a significant amount of cached data, which is exactly what this app purports to do to make the news available for offline reading. After deleting Fluent News from my iPhone and iTunes, the sync backup time went back down to normal.

Awesome App Finally. Someone has built a credible aggregator. Finally. I can get rid of my myriad other lame news apps.
Plenty of possibility for Improvents. Will want to create my own news categories and filters, will want improvements to the interface, and to speed, etc... But this is an awesome start for sure!

Best news app on the iPhone I just tried Fluent News and I must say it's way better than all other news apps I've tried. It loads super quickly and only shows me mobile-friendly pages. I used to use the NY Times app and really hated how buggy and slow it was. Fluent is definitely better. Not to mention the fact that it aggregates news from many sites instead of just showing one source. It also does the aggregation in an intelligent way, so I don't see every piece of news with the same topic. It only shows me a topic once and then shows me all related ones later on. Love this app!

Good News Everyone!
Great idea, now beautifully implemented! This update fixes all the complaints I had about the previous version. Download, scrolling speed, and backup are now all faster than greased lightning. The aggregation makes it easy to tap into a variety of perspectives on a single story. Each category (Top News, World, Technology, etc) gives you 20-30 stories, most of them with alternative coverage a single tap away. My all-time favorite news app. I honestly don't know how it could be better. (There are simple one-line ads distributed here and there through the scrolling list of headlines. I find them unobtrusive and am very happy to have them if it gets me this kind of coverage.)

I've been disappointed with news aggregation apps - this one is pretty good! I haven't found many news apps that I really like besides USA Today. This is a pretty good app to pull together news from lots of different sources. It could use some cleanup and clutter reduction, but overall it isn't a bad news app to have on your phone. And it is free! Worth checking out for sure...
