NearPics is a simple, fun app for the iPhone & iPod Touch that lets you easily see some photographs taken near to where you are right now.
As soon as you load up NearPics, it gets your location using the iPhones unique location based services, and uses that to instantly find photographs taken near to your exact location (using Panoramio.com).
NearPics is great fun when you're on holiday somewhere new, or even just when you're in your home town, to see photos of places you might never have known about! And when you've found an interesting photo you can even find out where it was taken using the iPhones maps application. TheMacBox 2008

doesn't work? i have the "old" iphone. i have 2.0 running... but this applicating isn't working. it just says 'loading...' but never loads anything. Limited NearPics uses photos from Panoramio, but I am not sure how those photos are chosen. I have taken some very nice photos close to my home and have posted them on Panoramio with locations, but none of mine showed up on this app. After dispalying about 40 photos, this app goes back the to first one and cycles through them all again. Would be nice if the area I wanted to view could be narrowed down to just a few blocks around my location instead showing photos all over the whole city. - NearPics review by USA-Scott

Slow and cumbersome... Rediculously slow application... it needs some major work and should have been tested before being placed on this iPod store!!! Does not someone review or test an application by Apple before allowing it to be sold here?I have let it sit and do its "loading..." for twenty minutes and nothing happens... in fact you cannot tell if it has locked up your iPhone or not... Balky Buttons App loads pics slowly or not at all sometimes, but I suspect that is due to connection/network issues. My main complaint is the buttons you must tap to pause, play, see the map, etc. They are a bit small, but worse, they are terribly unresponsive for me.
