KNOW what the wind is doing from the beach down the street to anywhere in the world with windAlert!
Kiteboarding, windsurfing, kitesurfing, sailing, surfing, fishing, snowkiting, paragliding, kiting, RC flying,.... heck... paper airplane testing...... no matter what your wind activity is, windAlert is a critical tool for you!
The windAlert app provides wind reports and forecasts on graphs and maps from over 40,000 weather stations globally (and growing!). Search for your wind spot by city, state, country, or even the beach name where you go. Or tap the "Search Nearby" button to see all the wind reports that are closest to you. Tap a spot on the map or in the list to get a detailed graph with complete wind history for the past 6 hours and a forecast going ahead 6 hours. Once you have found the stations that are most important to you, simply add them to your favorites list. Traveling?... or simply have too many stations to see on a single list? WindAlert lets you save lists of stations to separate profiles that you name!
windAlert!!... From your list of favorites, you can configure multiple alerts to give you an automatic pop-up (and sound) when the wind reaches threshold. You can set the threshold based on wind average or gust, time of day, how many alerts you want, etc. The alert will notify you even if the app is closed. Never miss a windy day again!
The weather engine driving windAlert is developed by WeatherFlow who scours the internet to gather all publicly available sources of weather data to create this powerful FREE wind resource. If you know of stations that you think should be in windAlert... let us know and we'll add it!
In addition to the FREE services in windAlert, WeatherFlow also maintains a growing network of over 400 proprietary weather stations located on the water that are available at various membership levels. Existing members of other WeatherFlow applications (iWindsurf.com, iKitesurf.com, SailFlow.com, and Fishweather.com) can simply use your account info to sign into windAlert. Even though we feel windAlert is already the most powerful wind app available, we are still working to bring many of the features from our web sites to the windAlert platform such as tides, model forecasts, and human forecasts.

Great App Very nice upgrades in the newest version. The map is excellent for viewing and locating other area weather stations! Customer service is excellent. My question was answered very quickly through a feedback link. Keep up the good work. Great app for wind monitoring. Very useful for hunting! And it's FREE!

Fixed! 5 star app again. Previously: Was good, but new verison... Contacted the windAlert guys who promptly got back to me and brought me up-to-date on the server probs they'd just had. The issue has been resolved and they were now up and running again. App is better than before and I would highly recommend it.Previously.... Lastest upgrade wiped my favorite locations! Won't connect to the internet!! And the solution on the web site doesn't work either. Go figure!

Works again! Thanks! I really like this app. It does exactly what it says it does. It appears the problems with the .86 update have been fixed. I find this app very useful for planning fishing trips and for Skywarn spotting here in west TX. Highly recommended.

Awesome! Simple, Easy, Complete I can search not by just entering a location, but I can search around where I actually am. There are stations here that I never knew about before!Turn the phone sideways and the graph gets bigger. Sweet! How did I get along without this?

Exceptional Value Excellent Obs Wind Ap.. I've others, this is the best I've found so far.. Graphing the Avg and Max values against the forcast for each site and then auto sorting the sites strongest to weakest is a big plus. I use it daily for RC sloping and in San Diego it's very helpful since there are lots of weather sites pretty near slopes where I actually fly. . Wish I could get a webcam pix of the cloud cover /rain at a site. Only complaint I have is that there's a considerable typical 10 to 30+ minute lag in updates.

They this app!!! I have to say that I have tried several apps for wind and this is the best!! I sail and depend on the wind and use several sites on Internet and this app even has them beat!!! Get this app you will not regret it!

Many wind sensors right on the waters edge Lots of weather apps have wind reports but those are from public domain wind sensors that are rarely next to bodies of water. The company that makes this app, Weatherflow, has ALL of those wind sensors. But what makes this app great is that Weatherflow also has hundreds of sensors in their private sensor network. And all of these sensors are right on the waters edge or sometimes even on buoys etc. So if you engage in water related sports like boating, fishing, kiteboarding, beach going, windsurfing etc. this app gives you the actual wind on the water NOT just at some hill miles away. Get it now since an app like this with proprietary information not just the generic public domain information is not going to be free for long.

Kiteboard? Windsurf? You've got to have this App I love the Favorites screen. With a quick glance, I can see all my favorite sites, as well as a couple of sites I hope to visit. Click on a site, and the graph shows Gusts, luls, average windspeed, direction, and air temp. The graph also shows the forecast wind speed and direction for about 5 hours in advance with the fat light blue line.

Wind Alert If you have a subscription to iWindsurf or iKitesurf this is a great way to quickly view wind graphs from your favorite sites on your iPhone. The graphs include all the information accessible by computer, but there is no map view or tide data. The company promises to make future software updates available adding features such as these.

Wind Alert Wind Alert is an iKitesurf, iWIndsurf iPhone client. Within the limits of what this software does it seems to work nearly perfectly, I would love to have a few other features, particularly tides but as it is it is a complete game changer for me.
