✓ Star feed items that you may want to revisit at a later date
✓ Share feed items with your friends (Google Reader only)

Feeds - RSS Reader with Google Reader Sync reviewed by Users
Flaky   I tried it for the Google Reader functionality. Unfortunately as of 1.32 that part is unusably flaky. It often fails to find new articles, and old articles often pop up again. Some times unread articles show in the icons for individual feeds or the application icon but visiting the feeds gives an empty list. I tried deleting it and reinstalling but the misbehaviour continued. It's a shame - the InstaPaper integration works well.

Google sync still does not work after MANY updates.   Do not get this app if you are concerned about accurate sync with your Google Reader account. The unread counts are all over the place. Items marked as read randomly show up as unread later on. Simply doesnt work.

Update 1.32 (14 Mar 09)   Still a complete waste of money. Crashed immediately after installing. Not very stable.
Starred items STILL DON'T synch.
Feed counts remain inaccurate.
I'm pretty sure the developer does not read these reviews else he would be fixing these issues ASAP. I'm tired of reviewing this horrible app. Just don't want anybody else to get ripped off.
V 1.22
This app continues to disappoint. Crashes often. Starred items are not synched to the iPhone. Feed count is always wrong. At one point Feeds told me I had -1 unread feeds! Still not ready for prime time. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere.
***1.0***
Just downloaded the version 1.0. I had hoped that this update would fix the app. Unfortunately it hasn't. Feeds keeps telling me my password is incorrect. Out of curiosity, I changed my password from a VERY strong password to an 8-letter, lowercase password. Feeds accepted the weak password. I then went back to Google and reverted to my original strong password. Went back to Feeds and tried to login. Feeds told me my password was incorrect.
Do not buy this app. Any application that does not support strong passwords is clearly not concerned about your security.
Rating remains at one star until this is fixed.

Was Promising, now a WASTE OF MONEY   1.4: This app gets worse. The developers really need to concentrate on syncing. The interface changes are not great - the interface for 1.32 was pretty good. Now for syncing. This app barely downloads any feeds - there will be feeds with correct unread counts (after cross-checking with Google Reader) but no feeds get downloaded for that feed. It is extremely frustrating. There have been a lot of people complaining about syncing and the developers focus on interface changes? I get feeds that say there are 20 unread items, but only 2 get downloaded! I'm hoping the developers really focus on fixing the syncing and downloading of feeds, which can also be extremely slow. I thought the instapaper integration was a great idea, and I still do. This app could be the best RSS reader on the app store, but it cannot do its basic job.1.32: This app was promising when I first began using it. I like the fact that it synced with Google Reader and I especially liked the Instapaper integration (brilliant idea). I briefly switched from NetNewsWire to Feeds. NetNewsWire enables you to "clip" stories to read later, but you can only access your clippings online or through the Mac application and not through the iPhone app. Feeds allows you to star stories (a la Google) and sync these starred stories with Google Reader allowing you to revisit feeds either online or your iPhone. This is a great feature. Syncing and stability are problems. First of all, syncing starred items is only one way (from iPhone to Google). If you unstar an item in Google, the item still shows up under starred items in Feeds after a number of attempts at syncing. Secondly, syncing doesn't always work when you launch the app. When it does sync, often it will show the number of unread stories, but when you touch the feed, no unread stories show, or old feeds show up again or the unread count is wrong. Often the app just isn't downloading the stories, it is just downloading the number of unread stories. For some of my feeds, despite there being unread stories in Google reader, Feeds just NEVER downloads the stories. This is quite frustrating. Resyncing, or exiting and relaunching only works sporadically. Syncing performance is spotty. As of 1.32, using Feeds caused my iPhone to crash to the point where the iPhone was begging me to connect it to iTunes. I had to restore my iPhone to factory settings and start all over again. Thank goodness for iPhone backups. This app does have lots of promise and I'll be keeping it on my iPhone since this app has potential. I think the developers should focus on fixing the syncing and the unread counts, the stability of the app, then try to fix the syncing of starred and shared itemsAs a (very) minor matter, fix the colours. Although the colour is customisable, the options are not great and the app always begins on the default (ugly) green rather than the chosen alternative option chosen by the user.I would say if syncing and stability improved, this app would be worth its price. Otherwise, this should be free.

Best RSS Reader, Hands Down!!!   This is the first review I have ever written for an iPhone app. I have downloaded dozens of apps thus far and never wrote a single review, but somehow I felt compelled to write a review for this app, so here it goes…I have been an avid blog reader for the past few years. Coming from a BlackBerry 8330 (to the iPhone of course), I used to use a program called Viigo (a free RSS reader) to stay up to date with my feeds. Ever since I made the jump to the iPhone, I have been looking for something to fill that void. I must admit that I have not tried all of the other RSS readers for the iPhone, except for a few free ones. Although, the few readers that I did try seemed to lack the basic functionality I was looking for, until recently. So far, Feeds is the only application that is worthy of the one available slot on my home screen! If you are an avid blog reader (such as myself) and you are looking for a solid app with a clean UI then this is the one!!!Pros: • Excellent feed search, best implementation I’ve seen thus far • App Icon is consistent with other native iPhone icons, shows the number of unread items just like the email icon does • Clean interface that is consistent with native pre-loaded iPhone apps (Mail, Contacts, SMS, etc). • Multiple color schemes to choose from (Green, Blue, Black & Orange) • Ability to ‘star’ items, very similar to Gmail’s star featureCons: • Not enough preset feeds, there are a lot of RSS feeds out there and there should be way more presets to choose from • “View Page” feature is unstable, although this is a known issue and has been documented in the app descriptionAlso, I think it is worth mentioning that the two cons on my list are extremely minimal. The first one has been easily overcome by the outstanding search feature. I have been able to search for feeds that are not in the preset list and easily subscribe to them with just a few taps. With that said, the application has far surpassed my expectations and I’m certain that the developers will be enhancing the application in future updates. To the developers, I must say that you guys have done a wonderful job with this app. It’s a phenomenal start and I look forward to future updates. I know that I have mentioned Viigo ealier in this review as I have used it for almost 2 years and it was an excellent product. If you guys can get your hands on a copy of it, I suggest looking at their implementation. There are a few things that we can all learn from them as they have been in the game for a while and they have pretty much nailed it down perfectly.Aside from that, here are few suggestions that I think will make this app even better than it already is. • App should provide the ability to read the entire feed item. At times the RSS feed is simply a preview of the full article. It would be nice to be able to click “View full article” and have the app download the rest of the article in plain text without having to click “View Page” which can be slow and unstable at times. Viigo does this by downloading the article from it's URL, stripping out any HTML tags (with a simple RegEx) and displaying it as plain text. • App should provide the ability to automatically delete old feed items if there is no more space for new feed items. For example, if I have reached my preset limit for a particular feed (say 400 items), the application should delete the oldest feed items (read items first, then unread items) to free up space for new items. • “Items per feed” should have a “No Limit” option, although I’m not sure if the iPhone SDK will permit this as their may be a limit on the amount of physical memory each app can consume. • Provide the ability to specify the duration each read/unread feed item should be kept for. For example, Keep all feed items for: 5 days, 10 days, 20 days, Forever, etc • Browsable feeds should be broken down into categories and subcategories rather than having them all bunched up on one page. I should be able to drill down into feed categories and subcategories until I find the feed I’m looking for (similar to how the iPod app lets you select a song - Artist >> Album >> Song) • Add a “View Page in Safari” option to load the feed in SafariThank you for creating this wonderful app, I use it every day and I absolutely love it!Keep up the great work!-Randy - Feeds - RSS Reader with Google Reader Sync review by rmsutton
Excellent job!   Finally a reliable STABLE RSS reader. Adding new feeds is easy with the search feature or simply typing in the URL. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five was that it is missing a few basic features that I think would really make this app grand...
1. There needs to be a "Mark as Read" option.
2. There needs to be a delete option for read articles and for ones you choose to skip.
3. There needs to be a "Next" & "Previous" button in the active article screen.
4. Zoom funtionality would be nice especially when viewing some photo blogs.
This app is very well put together with options to Star articles, email to friends, view original in safari buttons. The interface is simple and straight forward. I was able to add 15 of my favorite sites in under two minutes with the search feeds funtion. Best listing/access of feeds I have ever seen for an RSS reader. Great deal for 99 cents. - Feeds - RSS Reader with Google Reader Sync review by vfxman222
Great RSS News Reader   This was the news reader I'd been waiting for - very simple to set up and works like a reader should - great for the non-tech person - a great feature is the ability to change the position of each of your feeds in the list, this way when you enter them you don't have to worry about what order you entered your feeds, you can group them after entry - for the future it would be nice if it offered offline readable content, but that is no reason not to get this now and hope with future upgrades that feature will be included. Can't beat the price, I like it so much I'd be willing to pay more now that I've used it. - Feeds - RSS Reader with Google Reader Sync review by RBinNYC
Easy to add feeds!   I love how easy it is to add feeds. I can search, and all my favorite feeds were available without looking up the RSS URL's on my computer first. I was surprised that it was $0.99. That other reviewer whining about it being "fail" because it's not free should go and write an app themselves before they whine about price. I sure as heck wouldn't write a free app for the iPhone, especially not a good one. It gets kinda boring and monotonous reading posts by kids complaining about $0.99. I'd gladly pay $4.99 for a good RSS reader. If you can't afford $1 then maybe you shouldn't be buying luxury items like an iPhone. - Feeds - RSS Reader with Google Reader Sync review by Mike1261
Simplest, Most Straightforward   The lack of an RSS reader was huge oversight on the part of Apple. This app fits the bill though. This is my favorite App Store app, hands down. It allows me to quickly and easily jump to my favorite RSS feeds. It offers one-click access to RSS links (to the original webpage, for instance) and one-click e-mail to friend functionality. I love it. Simple and elegant, it rolls with the Apple philosophy, that's for sure. - Feeds - RSS Reader with Google Reader Sync review by thbarnes
Great feed tool, great product support!   Big thanks to Mike for working with me on resolving the issue I was having. This is a great feed tool at a great price! - Feeds - RSS Reader with Google Reader Sync review by ShinyHappyHead
Great   Wow! I have been waiting for a reader like this. Great job!! - Feeds - RSS Reader with Google Reader Sync review by Kevniv
Simple and Sweet!   I wanted an RSS reader but was worried about spending several $'s only to be disappointed. I was pleasantly surprised how fast it loads and clean the interface is. It does crash every once and a while along with every other app. But it is such a quick program that you are back in action in no time. Don't waste your money or time on the other ones! - Feeds - RSS Reader with Google Reader Sync review by VisualSmith
Great app!!! Just what I was looking for.   I tried other RSS feeders in the past and none of them worked as well as Prime 31's "Feeds". Definitely worth the .99 cents. - Feeds - RSS Reader with Google Reader Sync review by loudirt
Not as good as Google Reader!   Seems like the old version from the InstallerApp.com days - not much new. Cannot read and view images offline!?!? Cannot load from an OPML file?? Until it can at least read off-line, then the amazing (uh, and free) Google Reader is the best of the RSS heap! Not just that, but keep in mind that all the "RSS Feed readers" like Feeds cannot save images from a feed to your Photo Roll, this can only be done in Safari (like Google Readers). So, why not just use Google Reader? - Feeds - RSS Reader with Google Reader Sync review by Mike21345
Does what it suppose to!   Doesn't crash and easy to add feeds from the app. - Feeds - RSS Reader with Google Reader Sync review by 1ndividual11
Well worth the price!   This is the application I have been waiting for since I bought my iPhone. Dead simple interface.
I am looking forward to a view all feeds feature, to allay checking each feed individually. In the meantime, download this app! - Feeds - RSS Reader with Google Reader Sync review by Yogler
Super fast and clean UI   This is feed reading done right. I like the feed discovery feature. Definately worth a buck. - Feeds - RSS Reader with Google Reader Sync review by Latrommi
Perfect - easy, beautiful, useful   It's simple, elegant, custmizable and more than I expected for $.99. It had some nice "surprise" features I wouldn't expect like the "Mark All Read" button and the directory listing of feeds that can be browsed or searched through. It's pleasant to look at and acts like an iPhone app. For $.99 this is a steal! - Feeds - RSS Reader with Google Reader Sync review by iPhone Chief
Simple, clean interface and good support   It's clean, it's simple, it does exactly what it's supposed to. I was able to replace a couple of other news apps by tying into selected feeds with this one. I had a problem adding some feeds, which I reported to the developer, and the problem was fixed in about 12 hours. With the newly-added ability to organize feeds into folders, and the count of unread articles, it's even better. (The app also promises the ability to view full articles in the app, rather than forcing you to switch to Saafari; but it warns you that the app may be less stable if you turn that option on.) - Feeds - RSS Reader with Google Reader Sync review by Tad Davis
An RSS reader that works!   I have been waiting for and rss reader that did what I felt it should do, and this app delivers! If you are looking for a simple way to find rss feeds and subscribe to them without having to sign up for another websites service then this is the app for you. Within seconds of installing "Feeds" I was able to find and subsribe to the rss feeds I was looking for. This is without a doubt worth .99 cents, frankly I would have paid more. - Feeds - RSS Reader with Google Reader Sync review by DefiantOne
