For the iPad, check out AyeTides XL!
AyeTides displays tides and currents (also known as tidal streams) for nearly 10,000 tide or current stations worldwide (currents only available in North America). It does not require the Internet; all the stations are available at a moment's notice.
Choose a station alphabetically, geographically, or near your location. Set up your favorite stations, or pick a recently opened station.
See the value now and the day's tides in a summary table, or by rotating the iPhone/iPod Touch, as a graph. Move from day to day by swiping left or right. Find out sun and moon times via the Information view. Jump over to Maps to see where the station is located.
AyeTides automatically compensates for the station's local time, and for Daylight Savings (Summer) Time. Hahn Software LLC

Absolutely Awesome   This is by far the best app, along with iNav, that I have installed on my iPhone. Love the new integration and the developer is open very helpful. If you leave a review, you should update it when the developer adds the features you ask for, folks. This is a five star app all the way!!!!!

good, but.... i really wanted current (ebb/flow) data   good, simple app, however, i assumed it would include inbound and outbound current data. I would give this app a higher rating if it included current data.

Exceptional   As a first time user of this app, I have to say that it is exceptional. It is quick, clean, and a huge time saver.
I travel in and out of ports on a daily basis having to submit a voyage plan for each leg of the journey. This saves me the time of calculating the tides on paper.
Suggestions:
It would be nice to see a time function that is just like the date function. It isn't easy to slide the target along the graph to get the exact time that I need.
I would also love to see a current prediction meter that lets me know the speed of the inbound or outbound current.
This app is on my "must have" list for my iPhone.

Worked well throughout the North and South Atlantic   Have used AyeTides from France to Buenos Aires and though the Atlantic Islands on a 6 month , 7,000 mile sailing trip I and found it to be very helpful. The response to user comments/questions is quick and helpful.

Graphics Rock!   I have been using Mr. Tides for the Mac for sometime by the same developer and this one goes to par with it. All is there, with full details as far as ft, m, fa change of dates, change of places, the sunup sundown, moon, etc., and of course also in graphic mode! Truly a progeny of the Mac family/mentality. The seemless integration to the maps feature of iPhone is great! I am sure future developments will link to navigation equipment via the 802.11 or Bluetooth. From Charleston, SC where 2, six ft. tides daily make a difference in whatever you want to do by the water. - AyeTides review by chafifas
Worth Every Penny & More!   Quick and easy access to tides wherever you need them. Way faster and easier than the Internet. Graphs are sweet.
The date thing will be nice but it's already a hugely valuable tool for anyone who needs tidal information.
As a long time Tide Tool user I have been waiting for a quality alternative for the iPhone, this is it. - AyeTides review by Salvino
Keep up the good work   As noted in other reviews, the framework of this application was developed and perfected on a Mac and it comes to iPhone as a mature product. It does exactly what it promises--tide predictions anywhere at anytime. It also uses the unique capabilities of the iPhone in a productive manner. Once the app is downloaded, you don't have to be connected to the internet to use it. The price is a bit steep, but you don't have to buy it if you don't want it.Once again, Apple, why do you allow uninformed commenters to vote? The price of voting should be the purchase of the software so that the vote is evidence-based. If someone wants to complain about the price, the best way to do that is to refuse to purchase the product. - AyeTides review by Dromquinna
Welcome and Useful Program.... But Needs To Display The Date!!!   I have been using Tides on the Mac for a few years, and was therefore pleased and excited to see this version for the iPhone. However, a crucial feature missing is that it doesn't display the date along with the tide information, so its easy to get confused when navigating between dates. Hope this is a simple fix, as I find the program much less useful and quite awkward to use without concurrent dates being displayed along with the tide information (wouldn't of purchased it had I noticed this flaw). - AyeTides review by Pinniped
Excellent tide program   Works exactly as advertised, and you don't have to be online to see tides (an improvement over the other tide apps)Worth the $15 for me, I highly recommend it. The developer has been responsive to comments, too - so I'd expect the application will be enhanced over time. - AyeTides review by jsgreen
Nice so far...   August has been developing Mr. Tides for years as a free app. He has been very quick with upgrades and updates. This version works fine, but is lacking of some of the features that Mr. Tides has that makes it so useful. I agree with the other posters about the dates, also I really do use a monthly view, or at least weekly, for planning scuba dives. Some of the usability needs some tweaking. I would also like to see the graph be able to be enlarged like on other iPhone pages, as my old eyes can't really read the small type around them. The fact that this has all the info stored makes it much better than the other free program which is barely useful on a boat away from the dock.In short, buy it, I'm sure these short comings will be addressed asap, in the meanwhile it works great. - AyeTides review by OpticalOcean
Good App   I like this app a lot. Two suggestions for improvement. As one other reviewer said, it does need the date on the screen with the data. I would like to see the date in both views. (BTW, it took me a couple of minutes to figure out that you get the graph view simply by turning the iPhone horizontal. Nice touch) Second, I would like to have arrows in the bottom corners for forward and reverse to go one day forward or backward at a time. This would make it much easier to move forward a day or two. I'm rarely interested in the tides a month in advance. If you do the arrows, how about a third suggestion? A "Today" button when you leave the current day.Again, a really good app that provides the info when I need it. - AyeTides review by Rick McClain
Terrible   I actually paid for this app then deleted it. I surf professionally. I travel a great deal. It does not point o specific locations like HB, Newport, Santa Cruz... There are too many place on the web and via iPhone safari to find exactly what you're looking for. Graphics are also terrible. Do yourself a favor. Save your money. This app is a waste. - AyeTides review by Liquid LQ
Tides and currents anywhere, any time!   If you have followed Mr. Tides on the Mac, you will know how much effort went into that program. AyeTides is the next evolution of a really solid program. This Application is great, as you don't have to connect to the net for data... It's stored right on the phone. Currents are also listed and you can get the direction by tapping on the info button. Finding the station is a snap as it brings up a list of stations near your location. It also allows several other methods for finding the location you want. The Graph gives a quick and easy way to view the tide and current. This is no first effort, this is a mature application. - AyeTides review by tamacn
Great App   I love Aye Tides, it's great that you can have the info at your fingertips instead of relying on a not so robust E or 3G connection. Can't find tides for Tortola, BVI though? - AyeTides review by MJT11
AyeTides   A solid application that keeps on improving!Being able to get tides and currents without requiring an internet connection is a huge plus. - AyeTides review by navx
Marine weather forecast?   It would be extremely usefull if someone made a marine weather forecast application that interfaced with the tidal forecast. - AyeTides review by Taku River, Alaska
Another 'thumbs up'   Like many other reviewers, I've used Mr. Tides since it's inception. AyeTides, therefore, was an easy learning curve for me, but it's so simple that anyone can use it. I like it as an iPhone app in part because it DOESN'T require internet connectivity. Lots of our coastal area is without wifi or ATT coverage. Seeing the charts appear when you flip to landscape view is great, and the 'favorites' idea is very handy. Like otheres, I'd like to see the date on the info pages. I find it more refined than the 2 other freebies I tried. - AyeTides review by dyvking
Fantastic Application   I am completely impressed with Aye Tides. I have been using Mr Tides on my Powerbook for many years along with GPSNavX and am delighted that they are both available for the iPhone. The 14.99 price for Aye Tides is a bargain. I use both applications to navigate my sailboat and can now have the information available in my pocket making it very easy to find my way back to the boat after a morning of fishing in the dingy! - AyeTides review by Whirlwind II
Tide Ebb or Flood?   I love this application and have been a long-time user of both Mr. Tides and MacENC. So when the 3G iPhone was released I couldn't wait for the release of iNavX and AyeTides. Good work Guys! However, I have one small suggestion for this program. At the opening page, It would be nice to see "at a glance" whether the current tide level is ebbing or flooding. This could be accomplished with simple colored arrows pointing up or down or in a variety of other ways. I know I can get this information from the landscape graphical view but that requires a seemingly unnecessary second step. Thanks again. You guys ROCK!(PS... Moon phases might be nice too...) - AyeTides review by alexus309
