Speed - Steven Troughton-Smith
IMPORTANT UPDATE:
If Speed stopped working in an update, don't panic - it's a bug with iOS (one I have no control over). You will have to go to Settings -> General -> Reset -> and choose 'Reset Location Warnings'. Good luck!
Speed is a drop-dead simple speedometer for iPhone that uses the location data from the GPS to provide a near-accurate representation of how fast you're actually traveling.
Featuring lush graphics and a clear, legible display, Speed is the perfect bicycle, boat or train speedometer. Both kilometers and miles per hour are supported, and a landscape mode for widescreen operation. Even more, if you double-tap the dial it will invert itself - perfect for reflecting in windshields!
NOTE:
As this works using the GPS, you will have to be moving at a certain minimum speed for it to register, and from testing it seems to be 5km/h. Ergo walking won't normally make the dial update unless you have super-accurate GPS coverage.
An iPhone, iPod or iPad with a GPS is required for this application. If you see the flashing GPS indicator, you do not have a GPS lock.
STUCK AT 0.0?
Verify that you have enabled location services for Speed in the Settings application. Also make sure you have good GPS coverage.

People..   This is what I think.. Since the appstore is linked to your apple iTunes account.. I think apple should allow only people who actually purchase the items to write reviews because people don't know what they're talking about and they're just hurting the overall product rating.. In other words. Don't judge a book by it's cover. If anyone agrees please post a review. - Speed review by Tony7516
Great design for a very nice app......   Great design for a very nice app.....a great gadget for my iPhone. The author is very responsive and friendly. - Speed review by Great Magician
Works   Mph would be nice but besides that It works awesome. - Speed review by Geoff8151
MPH update   I just updated my speed app to display my speed in mph. I quickly learned that it only changes in increments of 5 mph. It needs to show changes in speed using increments of 1 and not 5. I have no problem with kph but then again I don't use that. - Speed review by South Tulsa user
Nice Looking App   Very nice looking, but displays only in Kilometers, hope to see the option of Miles added. Have not tried to see how accurate this is yet, will try in the morning. - Speed review by lightsab
Works as advertised...but too small of increments to be usefull   I was very excited to have a GPS speed app for my Motorcycle. I wanted to check my new speedohealer to make sure I had set it correctly. The only problem is Speed will read 35MPH between 32 - 39MPH....doesn't work for my application :-( - Speed review by PrayHarder
Very cool   Very cool just wish MPH was a option I figured that the "A" was the option menu that would let you pick MPH I don't see that it would be hard to implement into as a option - Speed review by warGOD730
Could be useful for boaters (but isn't...yet)   I had this out on my sailboat today, wishing I could use it as a knotmeter. Hint for developers of future upgrade: 1 international knot = 1 nautical mile per hour = 1.852 kilometres per hour. Pretty simple math!P.S. To be truly useful, it needs to be accurate to within one-tenth of a knot. So get to work! - Speed review by dc.lotus
Most accurate iPhone speed application   I've evaluated several speed apps, and find this one to be the most accurate. The filtering algorithms practically eliminate any obvious erraneous values. - Speed review by KT322
Accurate!   I have used this for a week and it works well. I have another one and it fluxuates wildly. - Speed review by futuristicdesign
Does what it is supposed to do   Instead of giving it crap for what it doesn't do give it for what it's supposed to do. It tells you how fast you ate going that the point and it does it. Since newest update it's more precice. I use it when I longboard. It's free does what it's supposed to good job. Nice updates would be top speed and average.... As for distance they have an app that does that already - Speed review by Sk8erdude9
It's a great application.   I downloaded and been using it for more than a week, it's nice a clean, and work smoothly; User Interface is wonderful; the updates have incorporated some of the users request, so the developer is hearing what we say. This app could have a lot more of potential application than just showing the speed, the developer should add the following: Speed Record, Average Speed, Distance so far, Distance Record. It’s a great app so far, so go for it! - Speed review by AlejandroMIA
Touch the screen to switch between MPH and KPH   It's not hard to use this, or hard to switch modes - just tap on the display. But having said that, 5 mph accuracy is not enough to justify taking up the space. We need action on the screen! Thanks it's fun but not quite spiffy enough. - Speed review by Citromike
Awesome and accurate!   This thing is dead on. I have an off road jeep with 31" tires so my speedometer doesn't represent my actual speed. I tested this first in another car and found it accurate and consistent. I now know that when my guage says 50 I am going 55 an at 57 I am going 65. Great info to have! As soon as the app located me it works almost without delay until I shut it down. It even works down below 5 mph. Other apps like this took some time to report an accurate speed. - Speed review by imbaffled
Good - but could be much better   The GPS speed indicator is pretty accurate, BUT I feel like it has a delay from the actual speed. You can clearly see when the device is refreshing, say every second - so if you have accelerated from 0 to 70 on an on ramp, once you hit your cruising speed it would be about 3-4 seconds or ticks before it got to 70... you'd hit 70 and it would be like, 36...53...64...70.You can't complain about free... but it is what it is, a 3 star free speed app - nothing fancy, nothing special, and nothing fast. It's just good. - Speed review by Jeff PA
Never Finds GPS Location   I downloaded this app and when I ran it, it just sits there with the "hourglass" (the spinner) spinning away. I left it spinning for a few minutes (five) and nothing happens. I rebooted my device and it still didn't work. I re-installed, and it still didn't work. I deleted this non-working application right away. - Speed review by Gadget Guru
Runs well, and looks good too.   This is by far my favorite speed monitor app for the iPhone. Great job. The interface is simple, and the simulated leather is very nice. - Speed review by APWelsh
Good for broken speedo!   Works great! I kinda need it in my car due to a broken vehicle speed sensor. Is there any way to keep the screen on so I don't have to tap it every min? - Speed review by Thaiboy4u2grab
Great App   This app does everything it says. Its great for using in the car or on a bike. Only times it has problems is when the GPS thinks you're 3000 miles away from where you actually are. The App is easy to use, and robust. The developer is easy to communicate with which is always a big plus. - Speed review by JalenJade
