It a good app   I like this recorder but I have some tips to make it more user friendly: it is easier to use if you flip your iPhone upside down. This allows the record button to be tapped much easier with your thumb, also allows you to talk into the mouth piece and because the speakers are on the bottom of the phone ( ipone flaw ) by flipping it upside down during record and play back it allows the sound to be directed up toward your ears. Perhaps the developer could rework this so that the words would be in the right direction when using it as I suggest. Also it would be nice if the record and stop would change to a different color to help identify which mode you are in at a quick glance. Should be able to do multiple deletes instead of one at a time. Don't get me wrong .... I like this app and I'm going to use it everyday, it is a great buy as is. I just see the potential to be great! - Recorder review by Overworked9
Good Before... GREAT NOW!   This is, by far, the BEST dollar I have ever spent! I am in radio and now will be able to record short actualities or feature snippets, then e-mail them for editing and broadcast. They have managed to get surprisingly good quality from a little phone mic. It's easy to record, preview, rename, and E-MAIL the .aiff file. This is the kind of apps I imagined getting from the App Store. Professionally made and reasonably priced! - Recorder review by donmcdonald
Good; could be better   This app is great, but it could be better. The quality is really good but you can't email it or do anything else with the recordings. Hopefully there will be an update that will allow this. But overall, one of the best recorders the iPhone so far b - Recorder review by jakey17
Great sound recording, fair price   Looks great, EASY, but needs a pause button, ability to name recording what you want, and a stop button when replaying a recording. Right now I have to drag slider to far right to stop a recording play back or click completely out of program. .99 for this simple program though is worth it. More money for what's there? No. Make above changes and I'd gladly pay more. Keep your sale price going until next update. Hoping you update soon. Thanks for program! - Recorder review by Howling Huskies
Both Pretty and Useful   Design is VERY nice; it's both simple and elegant—looks like a native application that Apple would have included with the iPhone themselves. I found two negatives, however. The volume level seems a little low, which may be a limitation of the iPhone's speaker. I'm hoping to use this to record lectures in class, but I don't think the mic will pick up very well. Secondly, the email option is great, but it's implementation is a little weird. You don't actually send the audio file as an attachment; it's uploaded to a server and a link to download it is sent in the email. I suppose that's okay, but let's hope that a future update allows for actually attaching the recording to an email. For $1, though, this application is definitely worth it. - Recorder review by W.D.K.
Does what it says, nothing less, nothing more.   Good app, simple interface, runs free standing with no privacy concerns. Developer is responsive and new features appear to be on the way soon. The audio quality is good and I really don't need anything more than that. It seems very stable, plus, it's inexpensive too! - Recorder review by zorkiphone
Amzaingly easy   Easy to use. Sound quality is good. One button is all that you need. It is very simple. I wish they put a pause button. It will be helpful in certain memos. Great buy. - Recorder review by MACSMAN
one button recording   It takes one push to start recording and one push to stop, whereas VoiceNotes takes twice as many button presses per recording. I'm sold. - Recorder review by Italianphile
The Essence of Recording   This app is great. It provides a vital function that is inexplicably missing from the iPhone. Recorder just records and stays out of my way otherwise. The one button interface reduces recording to its pure essence. I love it. - Recorder review by leatherby
2.0   The 2.0 upgrade is nice to see. I'm glad I chose Recorder over the other paid (and free) recording apps. Like the new icon too. - Recorder review by Woka
Great update: addition of wifi syncing over LAN   Very nice feature. Syncing to computer worked without a hitch. The web interface looks great, too. - Recorder review by PriRmentndo
Replaces My Digital Recorder   Have always kept a voice recorder on my nightstand and in my briefcase. Now I just charge my iPhone overnight on my nightstand and use it to record. Very east to use. Looking forward to iTunes integration. - Recorder review by Paul Wigboldy
Really Nice!!!   Simple user interface. Version 1 was simple and elegant, but the update took it to where it needed to be. Nice little graphic addition with one touch ease. The addition of the ability to email an AIFF file is just what this app needed....now that its in there, this is a 5 star recorder...especially for .99 cents. Kudos to the developer for moving quick on the app. good stuff. try it!!! - Recorder review by Pote2220
Does what its supposed to do!   Does exactly what it says it will do....solid app, but I wish you could email them!!! Also, I would like to be able to rename each memo, but im sure they can fix that! Good application though, very handy! - Recorder review by supercooper719
Why didn't Apple include one??   Basic, useful, can't name, store nor organize... Apple could of included a simple app such as this in 2.0 but didn't... Maybe one day when pics by text could be viewed! Still a cool app for 99 cents - Recorder review by Phill Hates
Really Useful Upgrade!   I use this recorder as gtd "universal capture" device. Evernote, Jott and others are good at what they do (I use Evernote to capture web sites), but lack the simplicity and elegance of this little recorder.
It hasn't crashed on me yet, and the sound is fine even when leaving a note while it's on the car dash.
It was odd seeing three really negatve reviews in a row...a sneaky competitor perhaps??? - Recorder review by Owd123
Poor sound quality   This app is OK for $.99. But that is only if you want to waist a buck. The sound quality is scratchy and faded and it doesn't even have the ability to be renamed. I wish I could give this app a better review but then I would be lying. If you haven't already bought this app, don't. If you want to take my word, buy voice notes instead. Plus you'll save almost a buck. That is like saving a quart of gasoline( just to put it in perspective). - Recorder review by Idiots rule
Good app, but could be great!!   This app is a great start but could use a few simple things to make it great. A stop button when playing, a way to transfer a large file to the Mac, and a way to delete old recordings. Otherwise, it is a very good app. - Recorder review by FlaTom
Don't expect much   Can't stop/start a playback, can't reorder or (dealbreaker for me) rename memos. Too bare bones. - Recorder review by Kabeyun
Can't sync   I've tried 10 times to sync the new update and I always get a message that it can't be synced because of an unkown error. And I'd like to be able to use it to record phone conversations, but you can't do it. I'm going to try to use the other voice recorder. This is a new review. Now I have a week of trying to upgrade. I keep on getting an unknown error message OXE800002E. I wrote an email to customer support and have yet to get a response. Don't get this app as there are other recording apps here that are better. - Recorder review by surfprn
